Batons & Talismans in Palworld: The 18 Accessories That Buff Your Pal

Palworld has eighteen Epic accessories that buff the Pal fighting beside you — nine Batons for Attack and nine Talismans for Defense, one of each per element. They are among the strongest things you can put in an accessory slot, and most players never build one, because nothing about the names tells you they are a matched set. The Ice pair is the Ice Emperor's Baton and Frostallion's Talisman. The Dark pair is the Lord of the Underworld's Baton and Lyleen Noct's Talisman. You would never find them by searching.
The Nine Batons
Every Baton gives the same two effects: Pal Attack Up Lv. 4 and Pal [element] Damage Enhancement Lv. 4.
| Element | Baton | Element material |
|---|---|---|
| Neutral | Celestial Emperor's Baton | Pal Metal Ingot ×10 |
| Fire | Flame Emperor's Baton | Flame Organ ×15 |
| Water | Lord of the Sea's Baton | Aquatic Pal Fluids ×30 |
| Electric | Lord of Lightning's Baton | Electric Organ ×10 |
| Grass | Spirit Emperor's Baton | Beautiful Flower ×5 |
| Ice | Ice Emperor's Baton | Ice Organ ×15 |
| Ground | Earth Emperor's Baton | Bone ×30 |
| Dark | Lord of the Underworld's Baton | Pure Quartz ×15 |
| Dragon | Divine Dragon's Baton | Pure Quartz ×20 |
Every Baton also needs Refined Ingot ×20, Horn ×30, and Ancient Civilization Core ×5. The one exception is the Divine Dragon's Baton, which swaps Horn for Polymer ×20 — the only Baton in the set that does not want horns.
Note the naming pattern. Batons are named for titles — Emperors and Lords — not for Pals. That is the first half of why this family is invisible.
The Nine Talismans

Every Talisman gives Pal Defense Up Lv. 4 and the same Pal [element] Damage Enhancement Lv. 4 as its Baton counterpart.
| Element | Talisman | Element materials |
|---|---|---|
| Neutral | Hartalis's Talisman | Leather ×30, Horn ×30 |
| Fire | Blazamut's Talisman | Coal ×15, Flame Organ ×15 |
| Water | Neptilius's Talisman | Carbon Fiber ×15, Aquatic Pal Fluids ×30 |
| Electric | Orserk's Talisman | Bone ×30, Electric Organ ×10 |
| Grass | Lyleen's Talisman | Bone ×30, Beautiful Flower ×5 |
| Ice | Frostallion's Talisman | Bone ×30, Ice Organ ×15 |
| Ground | Anubis's Talisman | Bone ×30, Meteorite Fragment ×10 |
| Dark | Lyleen Noct's Talisman | Beautiful Flower ×5, Venom Gland ×10 |
| Dragon | Jetragon's Talisman | Leather ×30, High Quality Pal Oil ×30 |
Every Talisman also needs Refined Ingot ×20 and Ancient Civilization Parts ×10.
And here is the second half of the naming problem: Talismans are named after Pals. The Ground Talisman is Anubis's; the Ice one is Frostallion's. So the Ground pair is Earth Emperor's Baton and Anubis's Talisman — two names with nothing in common, for two halves of the same set.
A practical consequence: check the element, not the name. If you want your Ice Pal hitting harder, the item you want is named after a legendary Pal you may not even own.
The Cost Gap Is the Whole Decision

The two families look equally expensive. They are not, and the reason is one line in each recipe:
| Baton | Talisman | |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient material | Ancient Civilization Core ×5 | Ancient Civilization Parts ×10 |
| Where it comes from | Bosses, raids and relics only | Over 200 Pals, at a 100% rate |
| Buffs | Pal Attack Up Lv. 4 | Pal Defense Up Lv. 4 |
| Element bonus | Lv. 4 | Lv. 4 — identical |
The Talisman asks for twice as many units of a vastly easier material. Ancient Civilization Parts drop from more than 200 Pals at 100% — a farming trip, nothing more. Ancient Civilization Core comes only from bosses, raids and relics, and it is one of the materials that gates the Beam Launcher and the Plasma Rifle.
So the defensive half of this set is mid-game gear and the offensive half is endgame gear, despite the two being presented as a matched pair. Ten Parts is an afternoon; five Cores competes directly with your weapon plans.
Which is why the Talisman is usually the right first build. It carries the identical element damage bonus at Lv. 4 — the half of the effect that scales with the 2× matchup multiplier — and only trades Attack for Defense on the other line. You get most of the value for a fraction of the cost.
Build the Baton second, and only for the one element you actually fight in. Five Cores per element is not a set you complete; it is a single choice.
Baton or Dogen Emblem?

This is the comparison that decides whether a Baton is worth its slot.
| Dogen Emblem | Baton | |
|---|---|---|
| Attack | Attack Up Lv. 4 — player and Pal | Pal Attack Up Lv. 4 — Pal only |
| Element | none | Pal [element] Damage Enhancement Lv. 4 |
| Ancient cost | Ancient Bone ×30 | Ancient Civilization Core ×5 |
They are the same tier on the shared line, so the question is what you give up and what you add.
If you fight with a firearm, take the Dogen Emblem. It is the only one of the two that touches your own damage, and Palworld's late weapons — the Plasma Rifle at 1,860 – 2,232 — are a serious share of your output.
If your Pal does the killing, take the Baton. You lose the player half of Attack Up, but you gain an element damage enhancement at Lv. 4 on top of the same Pal attack bonus. Against a target your element counters, that stacks on the roughly 2× matchup multiplier rather than competing with it.
And if you have four slots, this stops being a choice. 350 Dog Coin unlocks your third and fourth accessory slots, which is enough room for the Dogen Emblem, a Baton and a Talisman of the same element together — player attack, Pal attack, Pal defense and a doubled element bonus in one loadout.
All eighteen come from Ancient Ruin schematics, and ruin rewards are fixed per location — the same puzzle always gives the same blueprint. So the schematic you need is at a specific ruin, and clearing a different one will never produce it.
Practical tips
- Eighteen accessories: nine Batons (Pal Attack) and nine Talismans (Pal Defense), one pair per element.
- Batons are named for titles, Talismans for Pals — the Ground pair is Earth Emperor's and Anubis's.
- Build the Talisman first. Same Lv. 4 element bonus for Parts instead of Cores.
- A Baton costs 5 Ancient Civilization Core — the same material that gates the Plasma Rifle.
- Dogen Emblem beats a Baton if you shoot; the Baton wins if your Pal deals the damage.
- All eighteen schematics come from Ancient Ruins, and each ruin's reward is fixed.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Eighteen Epic accessories is a long collection project — ruin schematics at fixed locations, Ancient Civilization Cores from raids, and organs and bones farmed a stack at a time. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps that project moving between sessions: your base keeps refining ingots and processing hauls while you are offline, and raids run when your group is free rather than when the host is. Full crossplay lets everyone contribute to the same material pool, and one-click backups protect a loadout that took real farming.
Conclusion
Palworld's nine Batons and nine Talismans are the strongest Pal-focused accessories in the game and the easiest family to miss, because Batons are named after titles and Talismans after Pals — nothing signals that the Ice Emperor's Baton and Frostallion's Talisman are two halves of one set. Batons give Pal Attack Up Lv. 4, Talismans give Pal Defense Up Lv. 4, and both give the identical element damage enhancement at Lv. 4. The decision between them is not the effect but the recipe: a Talisman needs Ancient Civilization Parts ×10, dropped by over 200 Pals at 100%, while a Baton needs Ancient Civilization Core ×5 from bosses, raids and relics. Build the Talisman for every element you use and the Baton for the one element you fight in. Against the Dogen Emblem, the Baton loses the player half of Attack Up but adds the element bonus — so it wins for Pal-led builds and loses for gun-led ones. All eighteen schematics come from Ancient Ruins, where each location's reward is fixed.
