Every Currency in Palworld 1.0 & What It Buys

Palworld runs five separate currencies, and with one exception none of them convert into each other. That means the Battle Tickets you grind in the Arena cannot buy the Ancient Shield, and all the gold in the world will not unlock your third accessory slot. Knowing which economy pays for what — and which single conversion exists — saves a lot of misdirected grinding.
The Five Currencies
| Currency | Earned from | Spent at |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Coins | Selling anything, bounty conversion | Five of the eight merchant types |
| Battle Tickets | Arena ranks | Arena Shop only |
| Successful Bounty Tokens | Capturing wanted criminals | Bounty Shop only |
| Medal points | Medal-earning content | Medal Shop only |
| Dog Coins | Sakurajima-era content | Accessory slots and more |
Gold is the universal currency — five of Palworld's eight merchant types take it, including the Wandering Merchant, Vagrant Trader, regional shops and the Caravan Merchant. The other three run closed economies.
What Gold Actually Costs You

Palworld 1.0's endgame crafting has genuinely large gold components:
| Item | Gold Coins |
|---|---|
| Ancient Shield | 10,000,000 |
| Beam Scatter | 3,500,000 |
| Tactical Grenade Launcher | 2,295,540 |
| Prototype Shotgun | 2,150,100 |
| Ancient Armor (each piece) | 500,000 |
| Ancient Helm | 500,000 |
| Giga Glider | 50,000 |
| Homeward Thundercloud | 10,000 |
Ten million for the Ancient Shield is the outlier, and worth putting in context: the Advanced Shield at Technology Level 60 gives 1,800 self-repairing shield HP against the Ancient Shield's 2,200 — 82% of the protection for none of the gold.
The Best Gold Income

| Source | Rate |
|---|---|
| Bounty tokens | 1 token = 2,000 gold — a ~160-token run is 320,000 |
| Coralum Ore | 2,000 gold each — salvage yields ~2,000 ore in 30 min |
| Desert fishing | 1,500 – 2,000 per catch |
| High Quality Wooden Board | 7,680 each |
| High Quality Cloth | 2,640 each |
| Circuit Board | 2,500 each |
| Ancient Civilization Parts | 1,000 each |
| Refined Ingot | 720 each |
Bounty hunting is the standout, precisely because it is the one currency that converts. A documented run of about seven bounties near Feybreak yields roughly 160 tokens — 320,000 gold, which is about 31 runs for the Ancient Shield.
Coralum Ore is the volume play. At 2,000 gold each and roughly 2,000 ore per 30-minute salvage session with the Powerful Fishing Magnet, it is the highest raw throughput in the game — though it needs Level 62 and access to Feybreak Land.
The crafted materials are the passive route. High Quality Wooden Board at 7,680 gold is the single most valuable thing you produce routinely, and it accumulates on its own if your base is staffed.
The Specialist Currencies

Battle Tickets — Arena Shop. Earned from the Bronze-to-Legend ladder (5 / 10 / 15 / 100 / 200 for first clears). Buys weapon and armor schematics at 600 – 1,500 tickets, stat fruits at 100, Pal Implants and Training Crystals at 50, and Skill Fruits at 30 – 45. Schematics set crafting rarity, which is roughly a 20% damage difference on a top-tier weapon.
Successful Bounty Tokens — Bounty Shop. The only currency with a cross-conversion: 1 token = 2,000 Gold Coins. Also buys Life, Power and Stout Fruits at 25 tokens each — permanent stat upgrades.
Medal points — Medal Shop. Buys the Mysterious Accessory Box and Mystic Accessory Box, stat-boosting fruits, Starfruit currency items and work handbooks.
Dog Coins. Their most important use is unlocking accessory slots — 350 Dog Coins unlocks both extra slots, taking you from two to four. Given that Palworld's best accessories include the Dogen Emblem (Attack Up Lv. 4 for player and Pal) and the Wandering Merchant Charm (Carrying Capacity Lv. 4), doubling your slots is one of the better purchases available.
Practical tips
- Only bounty tokens convert to gold, at 2,000 apiece. Every other currency is a closed loop.
- Do not grind gold for the Ancient Shield. The Advanced Shield at Tech 60 gives 82% of the protection free.
- Sell the expensive things you produce anyway — High Quality Wooden Board (7,680), High Quality Cloth (2,640), Circuit Board (2,500).
- Spend 350 Dog Coins on accessory slots before anything else Dog Coins can buy.
- Battle Tickets are only worth grinding for schematics — everything else the Arena sells has cheaper sources.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Four of these five economies are funded by content you play; the fifth — gold — is funded by production you leave running. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps your Ranch, furnaces, ponds and assembly lines turning materials into sellable goods while you are offline, so the gold side of the economy funds itself. Full crossplay lets a group split bounty routes and Arena grinding, and one-click backups and automatic updates protect the balance you built.
Conclusion
Palworld runs five currencies — Gold Coins, Battle Tickets, Successful Bounty Tokens, Medal points and Dog Coins — and only one crosses over: bounty tokens convert to gold at 2,000 apiece, making bounty hunting the best gold route in the game at roughly 320,000 gold per 160-token run. Gold pays for the ancient tier, topping out at 10,000,000 for the Ancient Shield (which you can largely skip in favour of the Tech 60 Advanced Shield). Battle Tickets are worth grinding only for schematics, and the single best Dog Coin purchase is the 350 that unlocks your third and fourth accessory slots.
