How to Catch Frostallion in Palworld (Location, Skills & Drops)

Frostallion hero card showing the Ice Pal Frostallion, Paldeck #200, against an icy gradient.

Frostallion is the best Ice Pal in Palworld and, in the 1.0 endgame, that has become the point. The World Tree roster is overwhelmingly Dragon-typed, and Ice is what beats Dragon — so a Pal that converts your entire damage output to Ice for +10~40% Attack while flying you across the map is not a collectible, it is a tool. It also has the largest HP pool documented in this series and drops a guaranteed Diamond. Here is where to find it.

Where to Find Frostallion

Where-to-find card showing Frostallion's single Alpha spawn in the far north.

Like Jetragon, Frostallion has no wild population. There is one Alpha at Level 60, in the Garden Beneath the Astral Mountains at coordinates -357, 509, in the frozen north of the Palpagos Islands.

Bring cold-resistance armor. The region does steady environmental damage, and a fight you would comfortably win at full health becomes a losing one when the map is also chipping at you. This catches more players out than the Alpha itself does.

And bring Fire. Ice is weak to FireBlazamut at 850 – 1,075 Attack or Renjishi are the obvious picks, and taking a Fire Pal into a snow region solves the temperature problem and the matchup problem in one slot.

Do not confuse it with Frostallion Noct, which is a Dark Pal with a different skill set and a different role — it is Gathering Lv7, where the base form is Cooling Lv7.

Icy Steed: Three Effects in One Skill

Partner skill card breaking down Icy Steed's flight, conversion, attack bonus and Freeze buildup.

Most type converters in Palworld do one thing and give you +5~20% Attack. Icy Steed stacks four effects:

EffectDetail
Flying mountYes
Attack typeConverts to Ice while mounted
Attack bonus+10~40% — double the usual converter
Freeze buildup+2~6 — unique to this skill

The Freeze buildup is the part people miss. Status effects in Palworld multiply your capture chance rather than adding to it — Freeze is worth ×1.09 — so a mount that applies Freeze while you fight is quietly improving every sphere you throw. Riding Frostallion into a catch attempt is doing capture work and damage work at the same time.

And the timing is right for 1.0. Ice counters Dragon, and Palworld 1.0's endgame is full of Dragons — which is also why the Cryst variant family became so valuable in the update. Frostallion is the strongest expression of that counter, and unlike the Cryst variants it flies.

Work, Stats & Drops

Stats card showing Frostallion's Cooling Lv7 rating, Level 80 stats and drop table.

At base, Frostallion is Cooling Lv7 — second in the game behind Bastigor at Lv8, and ahead of Univolt Cryst, Pierdon Cryst and Whalaska at Lv6.

Cooling is what keeps your Egg Incubator and refrigeration running, and it is work priority 19 — dead last. That is normally a curse, but Frostallion has only one work suitability, so there is nothing higher-priority for it to wander off and do. A single-job Pal at the bottom of the priority list is exactly the profile you want for Cooling.

    At Level 80:

  • HP: 6,500 – 8,180
  • Attack: 940 – 1,192
  • Defense: 770 – 986

That HP is the highest documented anywhere in this series — above Anubis (5,700 – 7,140), Jetragon (5,500 – 6,880) and every 1.0 addition. Combined with top-tier Attack, Frostallion is one of the most durable combat Pals in the game.

    Its drops:

DropQuantityRate
Ice Organ10100%
Diamond1100%

Ten Ice Organ at 100% matches Blazamut's Flame Organ haul and dwarfs the usual budget source — Muffly at Level 15 – 16 gives 1 – 2. And a guaranteed Diamond is rare; most Diamond sources are percentage rolls.

    As an Alpha it adds:

DropQuantityRate
Ancient Civilization Parts6 – 8100%
Precious Entrails6 – 8100%
Plasma Cannon Schematic 413%

Its kit ends at Absolute Frost, with Double Blizzard Spike and Crystal Breath below it.

How to Catch Frostallion

  1. Bring Fire attackers. Ice is weak to Fire — Blazamut, Renjishi or any Ignis variant.
  2. Wear cold-resistance armor. The environment is a second opponent here.
  3. Do not bring Grass or Ground Pals. Ice beats both.
  4. Feed the Statue of Power before the trip — up to +7.5 Capture Power, permanent.
  5. Get it into the red before throwing. The HP factor runs 0.769 at full health to 1.0 at zero — roughly a 30% swing.
  6. Ultimate or Exotic Spheres are workable at Level 60; Sol or Ancient Spheres make it comfortable.

Practical tips

  • +10~40% Attack is double what most converters give, and it comes with flight.
  • Freeze buildup 2~6 multiplies your capture chance by ×1.09 while you ride — it is a catching tool as well as a weapon.
  • 10 Ice Organ at 100% — five to ten times the usual budget farm.
  • A guaranteed Diamond every kill, which almost nothing else offers.
  • Cooling Lv7 with no second job means it will never wander off the incubator.
  • Frostallion Noct is a different Pal — Dark, not Ice, and Gathering rather than Cooling.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Ice is the counter to the entire 1.0 Dragon endgame, and a Frostallion earns its keep across dozens of trips rather than one. On a dedicated Palworld 1.0 server the Astral Mountains Alpha is available whenever you are, and your incubators keep running under a Cooling Lv7 Pal while you are logged off. Full crossplay lets a group attempt the Alpha together, and one-click backups and automatic updates protect a legendary catch through every patch.

Conclusion

Frostallion is an Ice Pal with one spawn: the Level 60 Alpha in the Garden Beneath the Astral Mountains at -357, 509. Its Icy Steed skill is the most loaded partner skill in the game — a flying mount that converts your damage to Ice, adds +10~40% Attack (double the usual converter) and applies Freeze buildup 2~6, which multiplies your capture chance by ×1.09 as a side effect. It drops 10 Ice Organ and a guaranteed Diamond, and at Level 80 its 6,500 – 8,180 HP is the largest documented here, alongside a top-tier 940 – 1,192 Attack. At base it is Cooling Lv7 with no second job, which makes it reliable on a category that sits last in the work priority order. Bring Fire, wear cold resistance, and do not mistake it for Frostallion Noct.
