How to Catch Hartalis in Palworld (Location, Skills & Drops)

Hartalis hero card showing the Neutral Pal Hartalis, Paldeck #197, against a pale violet gradient.

Hartalis is the only Pal in Palworld rated Lv7 in two different work suitabilities — Gathering and Lumbering, each one level off the ceiling. It is also a mount that generates a barrier blocking all attacks, which is not a phrase that applies to anything else in the game. And you cannot find one in the wild: Hartalis exists only as a raid boss. Here is how to get one and what it is worth.

Where to Find Hartalis

Where-to-find card showing that Hartalis is raid-only, at Level 70 and Level 80.

Hartalis has no wild population at all. There are exactly two encounters:

EncounterLevelChance
King of Salvation Hartalis7090%
King of Salvation (Ultra) Hartalis8090%

Both are raids, summoned rather than found. That puts Hartalis in the same structural category as Bellanoir — content you schedule and prepare for, not something you stumble across while exploring.

The 90% encounter rate is the good news. Unlike a percentage-roll drop, a summoned raid reliably produces the Pal you came for, so the cost is the preparation rather than the repetition.

Bring Dark attackers. Neutral is weak to DarkCelesdir Noct or any Noct variant. And bring the party: a Level 70 raid is not a solo proposition for most rosters, which is the practical reason Hartalis is rarer on servers than its stats suggest it should be.

It also hatches from a Huge Common Egg at CombiRank 90 — a low CombiRank, which makes breeding a genuine alternative to raiding once you have a single one.

The Only Pal at Lv7 in Two Jobs

Work suitability card showing Hartalis at Lv7 in both Gathering and Lumbering.

Work Suitability runs Lv1 to Lv8. Hartalis sits at Lv7 in two categories at once:

JobHartalisWho is above it
GatheringLv7Jetragon — Lv8, the only one
LumberingLv7Celesdir Noct — Lv8, the only one

No other Pal in the game is Lv7 or better in two different suitabilities. Most of the roster peaks in one category and drops off sharply elsewhere.

Why that matters: worker slots are capped. Your worker capacity equals your base level, topping out at 30 workers at base level 30. On a small or mid-sized base, a Pal that does two jobs at near-ceiling quality is worth two slots — and slots, not Pals, are the binding constraint.

The caveat is the usual one. Palworld's work priority order is fixed, and Gathering outranks Lumbering. A Hartalis with both jobs available will harvest first and log second, every time. That is fine if you want a harvester, and frustrating if you bought a raid for a logger.

    Use it deliberately:

  • On a small base, let it cover both. Near-ceiling work in two categories from one slot is exactly what a cramped roster needs.
  • On a large base, decide which job you want and remove the other. If you want logging, put it somewhere with no plantations — otherwise use Celesdir Noct, which is Lv8 and has no competing job to distract it.

Sacred Barrier & Drops

Drops and skill card showing Hartalis's barrier mount and its Horn drop.

Sacred Barrier makes Hartalis a mount that generates a barrier blocking all attacks while you ride, plus a triple jump.

That is a defensive skill in a game where almost every mount skill is offensive — most give you a weapon, a type conversion or an attack bonus. Hartalis instead makes the act of travelling safe. For crossing the World Tree at Level 75 – 80, or moving through a Wildlife Sanctuary patrolled by Level 80 Drones, a mount you cannot be hit on is worth more than a mount that hits harder.

The triple jump is also the best vertical mobility available from a ground mount, which matters more than it sounds on the World Tree's stacked terrain.

    Its drops:

DropQuantityRate
Horn2 – 3100%
Leather2 – 3100%
Large Pal Soul130%

Horn is one of three materials in Palworld you cannot automate — no plantation, no ranch, no mining node produces it. It comes off Pals or it does not come at all, and it feeds the medicine tree.

    As an Alpha it adds:

DropQuantityRate
Ancient Civilization Parts4 – 6100%
Precious Pelt6 – 8100%

    At Level 80:

  • HP: 6,300 – 7,920
  • Attack: 880 – 1,114
  • Defense: 710 – 908

That is a genuinely strong line — the HP is near the top of anything documented here, and the Attack matches Anubis. Hartalis is a real combat Pal as well as a worker and a mount, which for a rarity-10 raid boss is what you would hope for.

How to Catch Hartalis

  1. Summon the raid. There is no alternative route — no wild spawn exists.
  2. Bring Dark attackers. Neutral is weak to Dark.
  3. Bring a group for the Level 70 version, and certainly for the Level 80 Ultra.
  4. Feed the Statue of Power beforehand — up to +7.5 Capture Power, permanent.
  5. Get it into the red before throwing. The HP factor runs 0.769 at full health to 1.0 at zero.
  6. Use Sol or Ancient Spheres. At Level 70 – 80, nothing lower is worth the attempt.
  7. Consider breeding the second one. At CombiRank 90 from a Huge Common Egg, duplicates are far cheaper than repeat raids.

Practical tips

  • Raid-only. Do not spend time searching the map for a wild one.
  • The only Pal at Lv7 in two jobs — worth two worker slots on a cramped base.
  • Gathering outranks Lumbering, so it harvests before it logs. Remove one job if you want the other.
  • Sacred Barrier blocks all attacks while mounted — the best travel mount for the World Tree and sanctuaries.
  • Horn at 2 – 3 (100%), a material with no automated source anywhere in the game.
  • CombiRank 90 makes breeding a realistic route to your second one.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Raids are the one part of Palworld that genuinely requires other people to be online at the same time as you, and a raid-only Pal makes that scheduling problem concrete. On a dedicated Palworld 1.0 server the world is live whenever your group can assemble, with full crossplay so platform is not a barrier to who can join the summon. One-click backups and automatic updates protect a roster built out of encounters that take real coordination to repeat.

Conclusion

Hartalis is a Neutral Pal with no wild spawn — it appears only in the King of Salvation raid at Level 70 and its Level 80 Ultra version, both at a 90% encounter rate. It is the only Pal in the game rated Lv7 in two work suitabilities, Gathering and Lumbering, each one level below the sole Lv8 holder in that category, which makes it unusually valuable on a base where worker slots are the constraint. Its Sacred Barrier skill is a mount that blocks all attacks with a triple jump — the best travel option for the World Tree and Wildlife Sanctuaries. It drops Horn at 2 – 3 (100%), one of three materials that cannot be automated, and at Level 80 it carries 6,300 – 7,920 HP. Bring Dark attackers and a group — then breed the second one at CombiRank 90 instead of raiding again.
