Lifmunk Effigies & the Statue of Power in Palworld 1.0
If your spheres keep breaking on high-level Alphas, the problem is probably not your spheres. Lifmunk Effigies and the Statue of Power are the permanent, account-wide capture upgrade that most players under-feed — and because Capture Power is additive, a maxed statue is worth more than several sphere tiers. This guide covers what the statue costs, what it gives you, and where it sits in the capture formula.
What the Statue of Power Does
The Statue of Power has two functions. The one this guide is about is capture: "Offer up Lifmunk Effigy to receive strange powers." Feeding it Lifmunk Effigies permanently raises your Capture Power, which increases your odds on every sphere you ever throw.
The other function is Pal enhancement, where you spend Pal Souls to raise an individual Pal's stats. Same structure, different currency, different outcome.
What It Costs
| Statue level | Effigies required |
|---|---|
| Levels 1 – 9 | 1 to 9 effigies each, escalating |
| Level 10 and above | 9 effigies per level |
| Maximum level | 15 |
| Total to max | 100 Lifmunk Effigies |
The curve is friendly at the start and flat afterwards. The first few levels cost almost nothing, so there is no reason to leave the statue at level 0 — even a casual amount of effigy collecting gets you several levels in.
Note that Lifmunk Effigies are only one of several effigy types in the game. Lamball, Pengullet, Munchill, Rooby, Herbil, Lunaris, Relaxaurus and Mimog Effigies also exist and feed their own statue lines. If you are collecting for Capture Power specifically, Lifmunk is the one you want.
Why It Beats Buying Better Spheres

Palworld's capture calculation adds up several Capture Power sources:
| Source | Contribution |
|---|---|
| Sphere tier | 7 (Pal Sphere) to 64 (Ancient Sphere) |
| Statue of Power | +0.5 to +7.5 |
| Partner skills | +1 to +5 |
| Sphere modules | +1 to +3 |
| Critical hit throw | +2 |
Now put that in context. The gap between an Ultra Sphere (33) and a Legendary Sphere (38) is 5 Capture Power. A fully fed Statue of Power is worth more than that — permanently, on every throw, without spending a single crafting material.
It is the best return on time in the entire capture system, and unlike spheres it never runs out.
Where Effigies Come From
Lifmunk Effigies are world collectibles. They are scattered across the map as small glowing statues, usually tucked into corners of the landscape — ledges, ruins, cave mouths, the bases of cliffs — rather than dropped by Pals.
Two practical notes:
- They do not respawn. Each one is a one-time pickup, which is why the 100 needed to max the statue is a real collection project rather than a farm.
- A Metal Detector helps. Palworld's detector tooling exists specifically to surface collectibles you would otherwise walk past.
Because they are static pickups, effigy hunting fits naturally around whatever else you are doing. Grab them opportunistically while you are running catch routes rather than making dedicated trips.
Where the Statue Fits in the Capture Formula

Capture Power is only one of several terms. Understanding the others tells you when the statue actually pays off:
- HP factor. A target at full health uses a factor of 0.769; at zero health it is 1.0. Getting a Pal into the red is worth roughly 30% before anything else applies.
- Status multipliers. Status conditions multiply the resulting chance rather than adding Capture Power. Freeze applies ×1.09, and a bear trap ×1.14.
- Back throws. These do not change the capture rate on their own — they only matter if Wispaw is in your party, where its partner skill grants +1 to +5 Capture Power.
Because the statue is additive and status effects are multiplicative, they compound. A maxed statue makes every subsequent freeze worth more.
The Order That Saves the Most Spheres

- Feed the Statue of Power. Permanent, applies to every throw for the rest of the save.
- Carry Wispaw so back throws stop being decorative, and Souffline if you are hunting Ivy-Covered targets. Muffly raises capture rate against Frozen targets specifically.
- Bring the counter element. A 2× matchup gets the target into the red twice as fast, which moves the HP factor from 0.769 toward 1.0.
- Apply a status or lay a bear trap for the ×1.09 or ×1.14 multiplier.
- Then throw Sol Spheres (Capture Power 58, Technology Level 67) or Ancient Spheres (64, Technology Level 74).
Most players do step 5 and skip steps 1 – 4. That is why endgame catching feels like a slot machine.
Practical tips
- Take the first few statue levels immediately — they cost 1 to 9 effigies each and the bonus applies to everything from then on.
- Effigies are one-time pickups, not farmable. Collect them opportunistically rather than grinding for them.
- Lifmunk Effigies feed the Capture Power line specifically. Other effigy types go to other statues.
- A maxed statue outweighs the entire Ultra-to-Legendary sphere upgrade, and costs no materials to use.
- Statue bonus adds, status effects multiply. Do both — they compound rather than overlap.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Collecting 100 effigies and then working through a Level 76 – 80 catch list is a project measured in sessions, not hours. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps your world, your collectible pickups and your Alpha spawns available whenever you have time, so a long collection project fits around real life. Full crossplay lets your group split the map, and one-click backups and automatic updates protect a save that carries a lot of one-time progress.
Conclusion
The Statue of Power caps at level 15 and costs 100 Lifmunk Effigies in total, with the first nine levels costing just 1 to 9 effigies each. That investment is worth up to +7.5 Capture Power permanently — more than the entire gap between an Ultra Sphere and a Legendary Sphere, and it applies to every throw you make for the rest of the save. Feed it early, collect effigies opportunistically rather than grinding, and remember that the statue's additive bonus compounds with the multiplicative bonus from Freeze and bear traps. Fix the statue before you buy more spheres.
