Mythical Wood is not chopped from trees. It comes out of Ancient Relics — which means the pile of relics you have been hoarding since your first World Tree trip is, quietly, a Mythical Wood mine. It is also the material behind the Ancient Sphere, the best capture sphere in the game, and the Skillfruit Orchard, which wants two hundred of it. Here is how the relic-to-wood conversion works and what to spend it on.

 

What Is Mythical Wood?

 

Mythical Wood is a Rare-rarity material, weight 8, with a sell value of 1,000 Gold Coins.

 

    Its description ties it to the endgame region directly: "Rare wood imbued with the power of the World Tree. Only skilled craftsmen are able to process it."

 

Where It Comes From: Relics

 

 

The primary source is Ancient Relics, and every tier yields Mythical Wood at a 100% rate — the tier only changes the quantity:

Decayed relics drop in quantities of 1 – 10 at a 10% chance and are the easiest to accumulate in bulk, so even though they yield the least wood per relic, volume makes them your main supply. The rare tiers are worth saving for when you want a lot of wood from a small stack.

 

Where to Farm the Relics

 

    The single best target is Suzaku at Level 80 in the World Tree. Its relic drops are an order of magnitude beyond anything else documented: 30 – 50 Decayed at 100%, 10 – 20 Dormant at 100%, 4 – 8 Gorgeous at 100%, plus Glowing at 50% and Glistening at 25%. Since every tier yields Mythical Wood at 100%, a single Suzaku kill can produce well over a hundred wood once recycled — which turns the 200-wood Skillfruit Orchard from a long project into a couple of runs. Suzaku is Fire, so bring Water attackers.

• Wispaw — Level 11 – 12, nocturnal. Drops all five relic tiers. A Pal you can kill in seconds.

• Ophydia — Alpha Level 69, coordinates -590, -1478. All five tiers plus a Grass Radiant Gem.
• Beakon Cryst — Level 75 – 77, World Tree. All five tiers plus Ice Organ at 100%.

 

Wispaw is the standout. Farming a Level 11 Pal produces the same five relic tiers as a Level 77 World Tree resident — and therefore the same Mythical Wood.

Two entries deserve attention.

 

    The Ancient Sphere needs only 3 Mythical Wood. That is the best-value use of the material in the game — the Ancient Sphere has Capture Power 64, the highest in Palworld, and it is what makes Level 76 – 80 Alphas realistically catchable. Three wood, thirty Paldium and six Paloxite per sphere.

 

    The Skillfruit Orchard wants 200, plus 500 Paldium Fragment and 150 Soralite. That is a genuine endgame project, but Skill Fruit teaches active skills directly — the cheapest way to patch an elemental gap in a high-Attack Pal's move set rather than raising a second Pal for one matchup.

 

    There is a neat loop here too: the Ancient Relic Recycler itself needs Mythical Wood, and the Recycler converts relics into ingots, cores, schematics and Skill Fruit. Relics feed the machine that processes relics.

Work backwards from your goal:

 

• Just want Ancient Spheres? Three wood each — a handful of Decayed relics covers a full stack of spheres.
• Going for the Explosion-Resistant Undershirt (50)? That is roughly 17 – 50 Decayed relics, or 5 – 6 Glistening ones.
• Building the Skillfruit Orchard (200)? Save your rare relics. At 9 – 11 wood each, twenty Glistening relics gets you there — versus up to 200 Decayed ones.

 

    At weight 8, Mythical Wood is heavy. Two hundred units is 1,600 weight, so invest in the Weight stat (+50 per Status Point) and Lightweight Ancient Armor (Carrying Capacity Lv. 4) before attempting the Orchard.
