Best Active Skills in Palworld 1.0 (Ranked by Power)
Every Pal learns a ladder of active skills as it levels, and the power value attached to each one is the closest thing Palworld gives you to a damage number. Palworld 1.0's roster brought 71 distinct active skills with it, topping out at 800 power. This guide ranks the best of them, tells you which Pal carries each, and shows you the hardest-hitting option for every element on the type chart.
How Skill Power Works
A skill's power value scales the damage it deals — but it is not the whole calculation. Three other things multiply it:
- Element matchup. Attacking into a weakness roughly doubles the damage. A 700-power Ice skill into a Dragon beats an 800-power neutral hit comfortably.
- Same-element bonus. A skill that matches its user's own element gets an extra 20% damage. A Fire skill on a Fire Pal out-damages the same skill on an off-element carrier.
- The Pal's Attack stat. A 700-power skill on Shaolong (910 – 1,153 Attack) hits far harder than the same skill on a Pal at 600.
So the ranking below is a starting point, not a verdict. A mid-power skill on a high-Attack Pal hitting a weakness beats a top-power skill doing none of those things.
The Top Tier: 800 Power
Only two skills in the 1.0 roster reach 800:
| Skill | Power | Element | Carrier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aqua Tornado | 800 | Water | Panthalus |
| Toxic Dance | 800 | Dark | Dandilord |
Toxic Dance is the more usable of the two, because Dandilord also has the joint-highest Attack in the update at 910 – 1,153. An 800-power skill on a 1,153 Attack frame is the single biggest hit available.
Aqua Tornado sits on Panthalus, which trades some Attack (820 – 1,036) for the best survivability in the game — up to 10,260 HP and 1,610 Defense. It is the skill you use while nothing can kill you.
The 700-Power Club

Eleven skills sit at 700, which is where most of the practical endgame damage lives:
| Skill | Element | Carrier |
|---|---|---|
| Meteorain | Dragon | Shaolong, Eidrolon |
| Celestial Vortex | Dragon | Shaolong |
| Blazing Beam | Fire | Eidrolon, Eidrolon Ignis |
| Missile Burst | Dragon | Aegidron |
| Ice Laser | Ice | Moldron Cryst |
| Lotus Bloom | Grass | Ophydia |
| Root Cannon | Grass | Dualith |
| Holy Burst | Neutral | Solenne, Silvance |
| Grand Breach | Water | Panthalus |
| Poison Promenade | Dark | Dandilord |
| Trickster Show | Fire | Dupin |
Note how concentrated this is. Shaolong carries two 700-power skills and the joint-highest Attack in the game. Panthalus carries an 800 and a 700. Dandilord carries an 800 and a 700. Three Pals account for a disproportionate share of the top tier.
Best Skill for Every Element

Because element matchup matters more than raw power, this table is the one to actually plan around:
| Element | Best skill | Power | Carrier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water | Aqua Tornado | 800 | Panthalus |
| Dark | Toxic Dance | 800 | Dandilord |
| Dragon | Meteorain | 700 | Shaolong |
| Ice | Ice Laser | 700 | Moldron Cryst |
| Grass | Lotus Bloom | 700 | Ophydia |
| Fire | Trickster Show | 700 | Dupin |
| Neutral | Holy Burst | 700 | Solenne |
| Electric | Thunder Rail | 600 | Puffolt |
| Ground | Rocket Arm | 600 | Dualith |
Electric and Ground are the weak spots. Neither reaches 700 in the documented 1.0 roster, which mirrors what the stat tables already told us — Electric tops out at 790 – 997 Attack (Prixter Lux) and there is no Ground-element powerhouse. If you need to shred a Water target, you are better off using Prixter Lux's partner skill to convert your own weapon damage to Electric than relying on its active skills.
The Skill Ladders Worth Levelling For
A Pal learns its skills in a fixed order as it levels. Two examples from the roster show what the curve looks like:
Renjishi (Fire) — Ignis Blast (40) → Spirit Fire (80) → Ignis Breath (160) → Flame Wall (250) → Flame Funnel (300) → Volcanic Rain (450) → Ignis Rage (500) → Fire Ball (600).
Shaolong (Dragon / Water) — Aqua Gun (50) → Acid Rain (120) → Comet Strike (180) → Blast Cannon (200) → … → Azure Dracoflare (600) → Meteorain (700) and Celestial Vortex (700).
The jump from the mid-tier skills to the 600–700 bracket is where a Pal becomes an endgame carry. That is the practical argument for pushing a Pal to Level 80 rather than fielding several at Level 60.
Skill Fruit and Where to Get It
You are not stuck with what a Pal learns naturally. Skill Fruit teaches active skills directly, and in Palworld 1.0 it is one of the outputs of the Ancient Relic Recycler (Technology Level 74), which converts Ancient Relics plus World Tree Holy Water into ingots, cores, schematics and Skill Fruit.
That closes a useful loop: farm World Tree Alphas for relics, recycle the relics, and use the Skill Fruit to fill gaps in your best Pal's kit — for example giving a high-Attack Pal a coverage skill in an element it would never learn on its own.
Which Carriers to Own

If you want the top of the skill list in as few party slots as possible:
- Shaolong — Meteorain (700), Celestial Vortex (700), Azure Dracoflare (600), and the joint-highest Attack in the update.
- Panthalus — Aqua Tornado (800), Grand Breach (700), Holy Burst (700), on the tankiest frame in the game.
- Dandilord — Toxic Dance (800), Poison Promenade (700), at 910 – 1,153 Attack.
- Ophydia — Lotus Bloom (700), Wind Burst (600), Geyser Gush (600), covering Grass and Water.
- Eidrolon — Meteorain (700), Blazing Beam (700), Dragon Meteor (600).
- Moldron Cryst — Ice Laser (700), Ice Spit (600), Rocky Impact (600) — your Dragon answer.
Those six cover every element on the chart except Electric and Ground at the top tier, and both of those are better served by partner-skill type conversion anyway.
Practical tips
- Power is not damage. Multiply it by the element matchup, the same-element 20% bonus and the carrier's Attack stat before comparing anything.
- Prefer skills that match the Pal's own element. The 20% bonus is free and applies on every use.
- Use Skill Fruit from the Relic Recycler to patch coverage gaps rather than raising a second Pal for one matchup.
- A Pal's best skills unlock late in its ladder. Getting one Pal to Level 80 usually beats getting three to Level 60.
- Electric and Ground have no 700-power option in the 1.0 roster. Cover those matchups with Prixter Lux or Univolt Cryst partner-skill conversion instead.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Levelling a Pal far enough to unlock its 700-power skills takes a lot of repeat content, and farming Skill Fruit means running relic loops. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps those Alpha spawns available whenever you have twenty minutes, keeps your Recycler processing while you are logged off, and lets your group split boss runs across platforms with full crossplay. One-click backups and automatic updates protect a team you have spent weeks levelling.
Conclusion
Palworld 1.0's active skills top out at 800 power — Aqua Tornado on Panthalus and Toxic Dance on Dandilord — with eleven more at 700. The most efficient way to own the top of the list is Shaolong, Panthalus and Dandilord, which between them carry both 800s and four 700s on the three best stat lines in the update. Remember that power is only one term: element matchup roughly doubles damage and a matching element adds 20%, so a 700-power Ice Laser into a Dragon beats an 800 into a neutral target every time. Fill the Electric and Ground gaps with partner-skill type conversion rather than chasing skills that do not exist yet.
