Majex is a Dark/Fire Pal added in Palworld's 1.0 update, and it is one of the more interesting partner-skill Pals in the game: it turns Burn from a slow damage-over-time tick into a persistent area hazard. Where to Find Majex

 

Majex has two documented wild populations, and the level gap between them is enormous:

 

• Volcano sanctuary (sanctuary_2_volcano) — Level 35 – 38. This is the accessible population and the one you should target if you just want the Paldeck entry and the partner skill.
• The World Tree (worldtree_9_05_D) — Level 75 – 77. The endgame population, and the one that drops the good materials.

 

There is also a tribe boss variant, "Flickering Shadow Majex," if you want a fixed encounter to farm.

 

    Which to hunt depends on what you want. The partner skill is identical at both levels, so if you only care about the Burn effect, take the Level 35 volcano version — it is far cheaper to catch. The Level 75 – 77 World Tree population is where Dark Radiant Gems and Ancient Relics come from, and those only appear on the Lv70+ drop table.

 

Note that the volcano sanctuary is a high-security zone, so expect a wanted level if you fight there.

 

How to Catch Majex

 

1. Bring a Dragon and Water team. Majex is Dark/Fire, so Dragon attacks punish its Dark half and Water attacks punish its Fire half. A mixed squad closes it out fastest. Do not bring Grass or Neutral Pals.
2. Pick the right population first. At Level 35 – 38 an Ultra or Legendary Sphere is plenty. At Level 75 – 77 you want Sol Spheres (Capture Power 58) or Ancient Spheres (64).
3. Whittle its HP into the red. The capture formula scales with remaining health — a Pal at full HP is caught at roughly three-quarters efficiency, so chip it down before you throw anything expensive.
4. Apply a status. Freeze, stun or sleep multiplies your capture chance, and a bear trap is stronger still.
5. Come stocked. The World Tree population sits in a Level 75 – 80 biome, so bring endgame armor and biome-appropriate resistance gear alongside your spheres.

    Majex's partner skill is the reason to own it. While it is in your party, attacking an enemy that is already afflicted with Burn makes that enemy erupt into flames, dealing continuous damage equal to 15~30% of your attack damage to anything that comes into contact with it.

 

    That is a lingering area hazard rather than a one-off hit, which makes Majex genuinely different from other Burn payoff Pals.
