Every Crafting Station in Palworld 1.0 (& Which One Makes What)
The single most common reason a Palworld recipe appears greyed out is not a missing material — it is that you do not have the right station. Refined Ingot will not smelt in a basic furnace. High Quality Wooden Board will not craft at an ordinary workbench. Most of the ancient tier will not build anywhere except one specific bench. This guide maps every station to what it makes and the order worth building them in.
Every Station and Its Unlock Level
| Station | Technology Level |
|---|---|
| Ranch | 5 |
| Crusher | 8 |
| Breeding Farm | 19 |
| Fishing Pond | 31 |
| Alpha Wave Generator | 41 |
| Production Assembly Line II | 42 |
| Large Fishing Pond | 55 |
| Advanced Weapon Assembly Line | 63 |
| Ancient Furnace | 66 |
| Ancient Workbench | 67 |
| Ancient Kitchen | 70 |
| Ancient Relic Recycler | 74 |
| Ancient Power Generator | 75 |
| Ancient Hot Spring | 76 |
| Ancient Material Synthesizer | 78 |
Which Station Smelts

| Furnace | Notes |
|---|---|
| Basic furnace | Cannot make Refined Ingot — this is the most common early wall |
| Improved Furnace | Entry tier for Refined Ingot |
| Electric Furnace | Faster, but needs power |
| Gigantic Furnace | High-volume production |
| Ancient Furnace (Tech 66) | Smelts Coralum, Copper, Iron, Pal Metal, Plasteel and everything else |
If a metal recipe is unavailable, check your furnace tier before you go mining. Refined Ingot is 2 Ore + 2 Coal at 70 work units and simply will not appear at the basic furnace.
The Ancient Furnace consolidates the whole metal chain into one building — worth the Technology Level 66 unlock if you are running several ingot types. It costs Coralum Ingot x100, which is 200 Coralum Ore, so plan the salvage runs in advance.
Which Station Assembles

| Station | Makes |
|---|---|
| High Quality Workbench | High Quality Cloth |
| Production Assembly Line | Circuit Board |
| Production Assembly Line II (Tech 42) | High Quality Wooden Board, mass gear and ammo |
| Advanced Workshop | Mid-tier catch-all — cloth, boards, circuit boards, Advanced Shield |
| Advanced Weapon Assembly Line (Tech 63) | Weapons and ammunition at speed |
| Ancient Workbench (Tech 67) | Most endgame gear — armor, spheres, ancient weapons |
The Ancient Workbench at Technology Level 67 is the most important single unlock in the game. Nearly every ancient-tier weapon and armor piece is built there. Unlocking a recipe above Tech 67 before you have the bench means holding something you physically cannot craft.
The Advanced Workshop is the quiet workhorse — it can produce High Quality Cloth, High Quality Wooden Board, Circuit Boards and the Advanced Shield, which covers a lot of the mid-game without needing three separate buildings.
The Conversion and Production Stations
Not everything is a workbench. Four stations exist to convert or generate rather than craft:
- Crusher (Tech 8) — 1 Wood → 2 Fiber, 5 Stone → 1 Paldium Fragment, sphere upgrades, and Pal Soul tier conversion at 10 gold a step. Needs a Watering Pal.
- Ranch (Tech 5) — passive production of Wool, Eggs, Milk, Honey, organs, seeds, spheres and even High Quality Cloth (via Sibelyx Primo). Needs Farming Lv1.
- Ancient Relic Recycler (Tech 74) — converts Ancient Relics plus World Tree Holy Water into ingots, cores, implants, schematics and Skill Fruit.
- Ancient Material Synthesizer (Tech 78) — continuously produces wood and ore automatically.
The Synthesizer in particular pays for itself on a persistent world, since it generates raw material with no input at all.
A Build Order That Works

- Ranch (Tech 5) — passive materials from the first hour. Four worker slots.
- Crusher (Tech 8) — Paldium from stone and soul conversion. Costs almost nothing.
- Breeding Farm (Tech 19) — bred Pals inherit passives; caught ones do not.
- Fishing Pond (Tech 31) — passive spheres, gemstones and gold.
- Alpha Wave Generator (Tech 41) — slows base Pal SAN loss, the most common cause of a stalled base.
- Production Assembly Line II (Tech 42) — High Quality Wooden Board and bulk production.
- Ancient Furnace (Tech 66) and Ancient Workbench (Tech 67) — before any recipe that needs them.
- Ancient Power Generator (Tech 75) — several endgame stations need electricity to run at all.
The common mistake is buying endgame recipes before the endgame stations. The Ancient Kitchen, for example, needs electricity plus Pals with high Kindling and Handiwork — a kitchen with no generator feeds nobody.
Practical tips
- Greyed-out recipe? Check the station first. It is more often the bench than the materials.
- The basic furnace cannot make Refined Ingot. Upgrade to Improved or better.
- Unlock the Ancient Workbench (Tech 67) before any recipe it builds — it is the biggest single gate in the tree.
- The Crusher needs a Watering Pal; almost every other early station wants Handiwork. Easy to get wrong.
- Endgame stations need electricity. Take the Ancient Power Generator (Tech 75) before the buildings that depend on it.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Stations are only worth building if they keep working when you close the game. On a dedicated Palworld 1.0 server your Ranch, Crusher, ponds, furnaces and assembly lines all keep producing around the clock, so a base full of stations turns into a base full of materials. Full crossplay lets a group divide station duties, and one-click backups and automatic updates protect infrastructure that takes real hours to build.
Conclusion
Palworld's crafting stations run from the Ranch at Technology Level 5 to the Ancient Material Synthesizer at 78, and knowing which one makes what saves more time than any material farm. The rules that matter: the basic furnace cannot smelt Refined Ingot, High Quality Wooden Board needs Production Assembly Line II or better, the Crusher needs a Watering Pal, and the Ancient Workbench at Tech 67 gates most of the endgame. Build the cheap passive stations early — Ranch, Crusher, Breeding Farm, Fishing Pond — and take the ancient stations before the recipes that need them.
