Corrosive Mist Mask & Explosion-Resistant Undershirt in Palworld 1.0

Card describing Palworld's two Legendary accessories, both at Technology Level 76.

Palworld has two Legendary-rarity accessories, and neither of them boosts a stat. Instead they grant outright immunity — to toxic gas and to explosions — the two environmental threats most likely to end a late-game run. Both unlock at Technology Level 76, and both have a free alternative if you are willing to spend a party slot instead of an accessory slot. Here is what they do and whether they are worth it.

The Two Legendaries

Accessory Rarity Tech Level Effect
Corrosive Mist Mask Legendary 76 Toxic Gas Immunity
Explosion-Resistant Undershirt Legendary 76 Explosion Immunity

    The Undershirt's recipe is documented: Mythical Wood x50 + Explosion-Resistant Fibers x10.

That fifty Mythical Wood is a real cost. Mythical Wood comes only from Ancient Relics — at 1 – 3 per Decayed relic up to 9 – 11 per Glistening relic, all at 100% — so this is roughly 17 to 50 Decayed relics or five to six Glistening ones. The cheapest relic source is Wispaw at Level 11 – 12, which drops all five relic tiers.

Why Toxic Gas Immunity Matters

Card explaining the World Tree's gas region and the two ways to survive it.

Palworld 1.0's World Tree includes a region — the Rotmist Root, home of the Level 78 field boss Dandilord — where toxic gas blankets the area and is a genuine, continuous threat. It is not scenery; it will kill you while you are trying to fight.

But there is a free alternative. Dandilord's own partner skill, Mist Stalwart, grants the player and party Pals immunity to Poison and nullifies the region's gas entirely. Catching one Dandilord makes the whole area trivial to farm.

So the real question is not "do I need gas immunity" but "which slot do I spend on it?"

  • Corrosive Mist Mask — costs an accessory slot, frees a party slot.
  • Dandilord — costs a party slot, and is free to obtain once you have caught it.

Dandilord is also one of the two documented sources of Ancient Civilization Core among the new roster, and it ties for the highest Attack in the update at 910 – 1,153. Most players will want it in the party anyway, which makes the mask the redundant option — unless your six party slots are already committed.

Why Explosion Immunity Matters

Card explaining explosion threats from human faction raiders and the two counters.

Explosive damage comes primarily from human faction raiders — the Syndicate, the Free Pal Alliance, the Brothers of the Eternal Pyre and the PAL Genetic Research Unit — who appear in late-game base raids carrying firearms and explosives. They are considerably more dangerous than wild Pal raiders, and they will kill your working Pals rather than just breaking walls.

Again there is a party-slot alternative. Aegidron's Indestructible Fortress gives the party 60% less explosive damage and immunity to Stun.

    The comparison is closer here:

  • Explosion-Resistant Undershirtfull immunity, but only to explosions.
  • Aegidron60% reduction rather than immunity, but it also removes Stun, which is arguably the more dangerous mechanic. Getting stun-locked is what actually ends boss attempts.

Aegidron is also a rideable mount with 890 – 1,142 Defense and Mining Lv8 at base, so as with Dandilord, it is a Pal you probably want anyway.

Gear or Pal? Pick Your Slot

Card comparing the accessory route and the Pal route for gas and explosion immunity.

Threat Accessory route Pal route
Toxic gas Corrosive Mist Mask (Tech 76, Legendary) Dandilord — nullifies gas, immune to Poison
Explosions Explosion-Resistant Undershirt (Tech 76, Legendary) Aegidron — 60% less blast, immune to Stun

You have two accessory slots to start and four maximum, and six party slots. Which is scarcer depends entirely on your build.

The best-of-both answer for most players: take Aegidron in the party (Stun immunity is not available any other way) and use the Corrosive Mist Mask in an accessory slot if you find yourself farming the gas region without Dandilord. That covers gas, blast reduction and Stun between them.

If you are running a themed party — a Dragon squad behind Shaolong, say — and cannot spare slots for Dandilord and Aegidron, then both Legendaries earn their place.

Practical tips

  • Both unlock at Technology Level 76, deep in the ancient bracket. Take the Ancient Workbench (Tech 67) first.
  • The Undershirt needs Mythical Wood x50 — farm Wispaw at Level 11 – 12 for relics, which yield Mythical Wood at 100% across all five tiers.
  • Dandilord makes the mask redundant if you have a party slot for it, and it is one of only two Ancient Civilization Core sources.
  • Aegidron's Stun immunity has no accessory equivalent. The Undershirt covers explosions only.
  • Immunity beats reduction when the effect is binary. Full explosion immunity means grenades stop mattering entirely, where 60% still leaves damage.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Both of these sit behind Technology Level 76 and a relic-farming project, which is exactly the kind of long-horizon goal a persistent world supports. On a dedicated Palworld 1.0 server your Relic Recycler keeps processing and your farming routes stay available whenever you have twenty minutes, so a 50-Mythical-Wood project actually finishes. Full crossplay lets a group split relic routes, and one-click backups and automatic updates keep everything safe through each patch.

Conclusion

Palworld's two Legendary accessories — the Corrosive Mist Mask and the Explosion-Resistant Undershirt, both at Technology Level 76 — grant outright immunity to toxic gas and explosions rather than a stat boost. Both have free party-slot alternatives: Dandilord nullifies the World Tree's gas entirely, and Aegidron cuts explosive damage by 60% while also granting Stun immunity, which no accessory provides. Since both Pals are excellent for other reasons, most players should take the Pals first and reach for the Legendaries only when party slots are committed elsewhere. If you do build the Undershirt, budget 50 Mythical Wood and farm relics from Wispaw.
