Palworld v1.0.3 Patch Notes: What Changed for Servers

Palworld v1.0.3 landed on 12 August 2026, and unlike the two bug-fix patches before it this one carries real balance changes — several structures got materially cheaper, one item became a tenth of its previous weight, and there is a new server setting that changes how enemy camps behave around player bases. If you run a dedicated server, three of these matter to you directly. Here is what actually changed and what it means for a live world.
The New Server Setting
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCamp | Disables the suppression of enemy camp spawns near player base camps |
This is the headline item for server owners, and it is worth reading carefully because the logic is inverted from what people expect.
By default, Palworld suppresses enemy camp spawns near your base. That is the behaviour you already have. The new setting lets you turn that suppression off — meaning enemy camps will spawn close to player bases.
Who wants that? Servers running a harder or more contested world. Enemy camps are repeatable content: the Rayne Syndicate in deserts and the Free Pal Alliance in forests, both of which drop gear and are legal to fight, since hostile humans generate no Assault charge. Allowing them near bases keeps that content in reach rather than pushing it to the map's edges.
Who does not? Any server with newer players or unattended bases. Base raids already exist as a separate pressure, and stacking nearby camps on top of them punishes players who log off.
Our recommendation: leave it at the default unless your group has explicitly asked for a harder world. It is a one-line change in PalWorldSettings.ini and reversible, so it is cheap to trial.
Structures That Got Cheaper

v1.0.3 "reduced the building costs of the Crude Oil Extractor, High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor, and Large Power Generator" and "increased the crude oil production speed" of both extractors. The current numbers:
| Structure | Tech | Cost now |
|---|---|---|
| Crude Oil Extractor | 50 | 125 Pal Metal Ingot, 25 Circuit Board |
| High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor | 51 | 150 Pal Metal Ingot, 25 Circuit Board, 25 Bio Battery, 10 Ancient Civilization Parts |
| Large Power Generator | 50 | 150 Pal Metal Ingot, 150 Electric Organ |
The Crude Oil Extractor was exactly halved — it previously cost 250 Pal Metal Ingot and 50 Circuit Board. That is a significant change, because Pal Metal Ingot costs 500 work per unit and needs Pure Quartz, making these structures the largest alloy sinks in the game. Cutting the extractor in half removes roughly 62,500 work of Pal Metal from the oil chain.
Any guide still quoting 250 is out of date, including a great many written in the four weeks after 1.0 launched.
Two more quality-of-life changes in the same section: the base mission requiring a Crude Oil Extractor can now be completed by building the High-Pressure version instead — previously you had to build the lower tier even if you had already passed it — and Fiber obtained from trees was doubled.
World Tree Holy Water Was Overhauled

No single item got more attention in this patch. Six separate changes, all in the player's favour:
- Weight reduced from 1 to 0.1 — a tenfold cut.
- Effect duration extended.
- Added to the rewards for World Tree expeditions.
- Added to World Tree fishing rewards.
- Added to the Large Fishing Pond.
- Increased amounts from Pals in The World Tree area and from Teafant Spring.
- A sound effect was added when using it.
The weight change is the one that matters most in practice. World Tree Holy Water feeds 18+ recipes — awakening crystals, Paloxite Ingot, Drone Launchers and several Ancient structures — so you carry it in bulk. At weight 1, a hundred units cost 100 of your 500 base carrying capacity. At 0.1, the same hundred cost 10. That is the difference between a dedicated trip and a side pickup.
The Large Fishing Pond addition is the sleeper. It is the only passive source on the list — a pond produces while you are not playing, which on a persistent server means the item accumulates between sessions rather than during them. If you have a Technology 69 base, build one.
Current acquisition figures are also better than the launch-window numbers: Level 60+ Pals drop 2 – 4 at a 75% rate (guides written earlier quote ~50% at 1 – 3 from Level 70), raid variants drop 20 – 30 at 100%, World Tree fishing boxes give 9 – 18, and expeditions 12 – 16.
Everything Else

Fixes specific to dedicated servers and co-op:
- Fast Travel could activate unintentionally during Tower Boss battles — fixed. This one was genuinely disruptive on servers.
- Pals could appear to vibrate rapidly on the client screen — fixed.
- Attack Chopper BGM played from far away when triggered by another player — fixed, and the playback range now correctly follows players who are Wanted.
- Co-op lighting errors after cutscenes, and stutter entering The World Tree, both fixed.
Progression blockers:
- A Sunreach main mission could become impossible if the barrier was removed before accepting it — fixed.
- Some raid boss battles could fail to progress — fixed.
- An item duplication exploit was closed.
Balance and content adjustments worth knowing:
- Jetragon technologies moved from Level 79 to 70, and the Pal Gear to ride it needs fewer materials.
- The Aquatic Construction Kit dropped from Technology 66 to 23, and its Ancient Technology Point cost from 4 to 1 — a very large shift that puts water building within reach mid-game.
- Ancient Armor work amounts adjusted.
- Alpha Surfent now produces Leather at a Ranch — it previously did not, which was a bug.
- Reward settings for the normal Moon Lord battle and the Ultra Raid Boss were corrected to their intended values.
- Panthalus had an attack whose wave effect did not match its actual damage range — fixed.
Practical tips
bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCampis opt-in danger. Default behaviour suppresses camps near bases; the setting turns that off.- The Crude Oil Extractor is now 125 Pal Metal Ingot, down from 250. Rebuild your material budget.
- World Tree Holy Water weighs 0.1 instead of 1 — collect it freely now.
- Build a Large Fishing Pond for a passive Holy Water source.
- The Aquatic Construction Kit is Technology 23 now, not 66. Water bases are a mid-game option.
- Jetragon tech is Level 70, nine levels earlier than before.
- Servers should update — several fixes here are dedicated-server specific.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Two of this patch's changes only pay off on a world that keeps running: the Large Fishing Pond as a Holy Water source, and the faster crude oil production from both extractors. Both are passive output, and passive output is worth exactly zero hours a day on a single-player save you open twice a week. A gamever Palworld 1.0 server applies patches like this automatically, keeps your ponds and extractors producing around the clock, supports full crossplay, and protects your world with one-click backups before every update.
Conclusion
Palworld v1.0.3 (12 August 2026) is the first patch since 1.0 with real balance changes rather than only fixes. For server owners the key items are the new bAllowEnemyCampSpawnNearBaseCamp setting, which lets enemy camps spawn near player bases if you want a harder world, and four dedicated-server fixes including Fast Travel triggering during Tower Boss fights. For everyone, the Crude Oil Extractor is now half its old cost at 125 Pal Metal Ingot, World Tree Holy Water weighs a tenth of what it did and gained four new sources including the passive Large Fishing Pond, and the Aquatic Construction Kit fell from Technology 66 to 23. Update, and recheck any build plan you costed before 12 August.
