How to Catch Lunaris in Palworld (Location, Skills & Drops)

Lunaris has one of the most quietly overpowered partner skills in Palworld: while it is in your party, your spheres home in on Pals and your carrying capacity increases by 300 to 600. That second number is worth six to twelve player Status Points — for free, from a Pal you can catch in the twenties. It also drops Paldium Fragment at a guaranteed rate, which feeds every sphere in the game.

Where to Find Lunaris

Lunaris is unusually widespread, with six documented populations:
| Location | Level |
|---|---|
| Volcano Yellow C | 25 – 29 |
| Sanctuary 1 Forest | 25 – 28 |
| Sealed Realm of the Mystic | Level 35 (boss only) |
| Snow Orange C | 36 – 39 |
| Astral Mountains Cavern | 38 – 42 (normal), 42 – 45 (boss) |
| Snow Red B | 46 – 49 |
The boss variant is "Extraterrestrial Lunaris."
Go to Volcano Yellow C or Sanctuary 1 Forest at Level 25 – 29. Those are the cheapest populations, and since the partner skill is identical at every level, there is no reason to fight the Level 46 – 49 version. Sanctuary 1 Forest is also where Elgrove spawns at Level 24 – 26, so one trip covers both.
How to Catch Lunaris
- Bring Dark attackers. Lunaris is Neutral, and Neutral takes extra damage from Dark. Among Palworld 1.0's roster, Dandilord (Grass/Dark, 910 – 1,153 Attack), Celesdir Noct or Gildra all work.
- Do not overkill it. At Level 25 – 29 it is fragile, and a Dark attacker with a good statline will delete it before you get a sphere out.
- Ultra Spheres are plenty at the low-level populations. Save anything better.
- Catch several. Duplicates feed the Pal Essence Condenser, and Lunaris is worth condensing given how often it will sit in your party.
Skills & Stats

Two effects, both excellent.
Spheres home in on Pals. Palworld's throwing arc is not forgiving, and a missed sphere at a Level 79 Alpha is a wasted Ancient Sphere. Homing removes that entirely. It does not raise your capture rate — that is governed by Capture Power, the target's remaining HP and status multipliers — but it removes the whiffs, which in practice means fewer spheres spent per catch.
Carrying capacity +300~600. Your base capacity is 500, and each player Status Point adds 50. So Lunaris is worth six to twelve Status Points while it is in your party — and Weight is the best stat in the game to invest in. Carrying it is effectively free capacity you never had to level for.
That combination makes Lunaris a permanent party candidate for anyone doing serious catching or material hauling. Note that it does not stack, so one is enough.
Its signature moves are better than its reputation suggests:
- Holy Burst (700) — a genuine top-tier skill
- Blizzard Spike (450)
- Pal Blast (450)
- Power Bomb (120)
- Plasma Funnel (120)
The ladder runs Air Cannon (40), Power Shot (80), Icicle Cutter (80), Plasma Funnel (120), Power Bomb (120), Blizzard Spike (450), Pal Blast (450) and Holy Burst (700).

At Level 80:
- HP: 4,500 – 5,580
- Attack: 700 – 880
- Defense: 590 – 752
Modest across the board — Lunaris is not a combat Pal, and you will be carrying it for the partner skill rather than fielding it. At base, Handiwork Lv4 with Gathering and Transporting at Lv2 makes it a passable but unremarkable worker.
It hatches from a Large Common Egg with a CombiRank of 2,010 — high enough that breeding one requires well-ranked parents, so catching is usually the faster route.
Practical tips
- Carry it while catching. Homing spheres mean no wasted Ancient Spheres on missed throws.
- +300~600 carrying capacity is worth six to twelve Status Points. Keep it in the party on any gathering trip.
- Catch the Level 25 – 29 population at Volcano Yellow C or Sanctuary 1 Forest — the skill is identical and the fight is trivial.
- Paldium Fragment at 2 – 3 per kill (100%) feeds every sphere tier in the game. Farm it while you are there.
- The skill does not stack — one Lunaris, then fill the remaining slots with different effects.

Conclusion
Lunaris is a Neutral Pal found from Level 25 – 29 at Volcano Yellow C and Sanctuary 1 Forest, and its partner skill is one of the best in the game for practical play: spheres home in on Pals and carrying capacity increases by 300 to 600 — six to twelve Status Points' worth of Weight, free. It also drops Paldium Fragment at 2 – 3 per kill with a 100% rate, feeding every sphere tier in Palworld. Bring Dark attackers, catch it early at a low-level spawn, and keep it in your party for the rest of the run.
