Icthlarin's Little Helper: Three Moon Garou Clans, Nine Tasks, One Mirror

Icthlarin needs three mirror lenses to break the seal on Fuzan's tower, and the Moon Garou will not hand them over to an outsider — so the quest is nine reputation tasks across three clans. Dragonwilds' eighth primary quest is the longest in the game and the least like the rest: it is a reputation grind with a boss at the end, it pays out 200 Garou Chits per task, and it unlocks the magic carpet partway through. Here is the whole structure.
On sourcing. The walkthrough below comes from the community RuneScape: Dragonwilds wiki, and can change with any patch.
Before You Start
You reach the Umbral Sands after defeating the Black Knight Titan, by speaking to Avisk and then interacting with the door at The Bastion.
One piece of timing advice from the wiki is worth taking seriously: "It is highly recommended that you do this during the night cycle at full rest." The desert inflicts Scorch from sun exposure, and arriving at night with a full Rest bar buys you the opening hours of the region.
| Bring | Why |
|---|---|
| Adamant logging axe or better | Resource gathering |
| Any spade — adamant recommended | Buried scrolls |
| Mithril pickaxe or better | Moonstones and adamantite |
| 3 adamant bars | Or 9 adamantite ore and 9 coal to make them |
| 1 clean water | For Efina |
| 3 each of raw farm meat, kalphite shell fragments, cactus steaks | The butcher's task |
| Ash logs | Temporary shelters — Rest matters here |
| Vault Cores, Rune Essence and Stone | Lodestones, which you will want across a region this size |
| Drinks that reduce Scorch buildup | Frosted Flavours — Cactus Water, the Cooling infusions |
Note how much of that list is logistics rather than combat. This quest is a long stay in a hostile region, not a dungeon run.
Part I: The Alcarrid Clan

Speak to Shangruuh on arrival at the Alcarrid Oasis to start the quest, then Ancamairon, who stands beside Icthlarin. Icthlarin wants a mirror lens; the garou do not trust "an outsider, let alone a demigod" with a sacred item. So you earn it.
| Task | Who | What it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Rogue Trader | Domri | Find three moonstones hidden under gypsum nodes in rocky areas and caves in the western desert. Mithril pickaxe or better |
| The Mirror Crack'd | Valas | Bring 3 adamant bars. Choose option 1 to hand them over |
| Rag and Bone Garou | Lagra | 3 raw farm meat, 3 kalphite shell fragments, 3 cactus steaks. Choose option 1 |
Each pays 200 Garou Chits. Given that a Garou Chit mount costs 9,999, that is a meaningful head start — and the quest chain is a far better rate than chest farming.
Domri's task has a lasting benefit: "By completing reputation quests, you can unlock more items to trade with him including unique vestiges." His shop grows as your reputation does.
Raw farm meat comes from vultures and goats nearby, or your own chests. Kalphite shell fragments come from killing kalphites.
Then return to Ancamairon. The Alcarrid clan now trusts you — "the butcher has even made a dish after you" — and you receive a Moon Garou pack and a new Magic Carpet mount.
That carpet is the region's traversal answer. It is much faster in the desert, jumps higher and takes less fall damage than a terrorbird — and since walking the Sands means Scorch draining your hydration, which drives stamina regeneration across an eightfold range, it is not a convenience.
Part II: The Manafem Clan

Speak to Dúshlánach in the Manafem camp. They call you Unmarked and explain that the clan bears the Mark of Fuzan — "a wound that carves deep" — which is slowly costing them their will to fight and their sanity.
| Task | Who | What it takes |
|---|---|---|
| Song of the Ancients | Laguna | Enter the vault south of camp and transcribe ancient garou statues. Needs 5 air runes |
| Scaling Difficulties | Hedric | Find his lost scouting party east of camp and kill the red dragon that killed them |
| Beast in the Sand | Manathep | Kill the Dearg Due south of camp and recover Efina — bring 1 clean water |
Song of the Ancients has the quest's most useful mechanic. The vault sits in a kalphite nesting area, so rush the entrance rather than fighting your way in. Inside, summon a scarab staff and carry it — "this will prevent the scarabs within the dungeon from hurting you." You can swap off the staff to fight and pick it back up.
And there is an optional prize. "The next two levers will open the way to one of the Kalphite Queens." Beating her drops the corroded curved blade — the vestige for the Keris, which deals increased damage against kalphites. In a region full of them, that is a real upgrade.
Beast in the Sand has a twist worth not spoiling badly. Track the Dearg Due west of the pyramid vault through the sandstorm, and you find Efina alive. Give her clean water and she explains she ran from the camp because the Mark of Fuzan was draining everyone.
Each Manafem task also pays 200 Garou Chits. Completing the set gives level 4 reputation with Beartach's shop, one mirror lens and a Moon Garou pack.
Note that Beartach offers no quests himself — but completing the clan's reputation tasks raises his reputation by one level anyway.
Part III: The Uzzer Clan, and Fuzan

Speak to Gaimbín in the Dunes of Uzzer, who doubts you and mentions the clan is preparing for Fuzan's Marking.
| Task | Who | What it takes |
|---|---|---|
| The Dig Site | Lehran | Dig up four Forbidden Scrolls in ruins to the far south. Any spade. KotHaar and goats guard the area, two scrolls sit behind locked gates |
| Saga of the Adventurer | Laguna | Inspect four rocky spires around the pyramid, each holding a statue. Some are hidden in caves behind sandstone nodes; others are guarded. Bring 1 torch |
| Mark Day | Shangruuh | Convince each council member to abandon the Mark Day tradition |
The four Forbidden Scrolls are the clan's real history: 'The Schism', 'Sun Demon', 'Old Kingdom' and 'Moon Goddess' — the last two being Lougrim, the moon goddess the garou worshipped, and the Queen of Ashes, the Sun Demon who visited Fuzan.
Saga of the Adventurer pays an extra reward that is easy to miss: "You will gain a Crucible Engram of Humiliation for completing this segment." Engrams open the Nightmare Crucible, which is "an ancient Dragonkin experiment pitting you against the biggest and baddest monsters Ashenfall can throw at you" — and the Crucible is the only source of power level 7 Ascension Cores. This quest is your entry point to the endgame upgrade path.
Completing the Uzzer tasks also unlocks the gateways — Laguna remarks you are "free to unlock and explore the gateways as you see fit."
With all three lenses, Valas repairs the mirrors, the seal on Fuzan's tower breaks, and the quest ends at Fuzan — a power level 6, eight-phase fight, weak to water, immune to Poison, Bleed and Burning, and resistant to fire, fought on an arena floor that progressively turns into hazard.
Two side effects of this quest chain worth planning around. Partial completion unlocks the Nightmare Crucible, which opens before the Fight Cave — the reverse of how most players assume the desert content is ordered. And partial completion is also what unlocks the magic carpet, so you do not have to finish the quest to keep the mount.
Practical tips
- Enter the Umbral Sands at night with full Rest.
- Nine reputation tasks across three clans, each paying 200 Garou Chits.
- The Alcarrid set rewards the Magic Carpet — take it before crossing the desert on foot.
- Rush the kalphite nest entrance, then carry the scarab staff through the vault.
- Two extra levers lead to a Kalphite Queen and the Keris vestige.
- Domri's shop expands as your reputation rises.
- Saga of the Adventurer gives a Crucible Engram — your route to power level 7 cores.
- The Nightmare Crucible opens on partial completion; the Fight Cave needs the whole quest.
- Bring Scorch-reducing drinks — Cactus Water or the Cooling infusions.

Conclusion
Icthlarin's Little Helper is Dragonwilds' eighth primary quest and its longest, built as a reputation chain across the three Moon Garou clans rather than a dungeon. Icthlarin needs three mirror lenses to break the seal on Fuzan's tower, and each clan wants three tasks done first: the Alcarrid want moonstones, adamant bars and butcher's supplies and reward the Magic Carpet; the Manafem want a vault transcribed with a scarab staff in hand, a red dragon killed and the Dearg Due dealt with, and reward a mirror lens and level 4 reputation with Beartach; the Uzzer want four Forbidden Scrolls dug up, four spire statues transcribed and Mark Day argued down, and quietly hand over a Crucible Engram — your entry to the Nightmare Crucible, the only source of power level 7 Ascension Cores. Each task pays 200 Garou Chits, which is far faster than farming chests for the same currency. Arrive at night with full Rest, bring Scorch-reducing drinks, and note that partial completion is enough to unlock both the magic carpet and the Nightmare Crucible — the Fight Cave is the part that needs the whole quest.
