How to Catch Jormuntide in Palworld (Location, Skills & Drops)

Jormuntide is a Watering Lv7 base worker, a water mount, and — at its Level 80 World Tree population — one of the best farm targets in Palworld, dropping Dragon Radiant Gems at 10 – 20 per kill alongside the game's top-tier relic table. Its partner skill also completes one of the most useful status combos in the game. Here is how to get one.

Where to Find Jormuntide

Where-to-find card listing Jormuntide's two spawns and its Level 80 drop table.

  • Altar of the WindcallerLevel 55
  • The World TreeLevel 80

The Level 80 drop table puts it in the top tier of farm targets:

DropQuantityRate
Dragon Radiant Gem10 – 20100%
Decayed Ancient Relic30 – 50100%
Dormant Ancient Relic10 – 20100%
Gorgeous Ancient Relic4 – 8100%
Glowing Ancient Relic2 – 350%
Glistening Ancient Relic125%
Aquatic Pal Fluids2 – 4100%

That matches Suzaku and Orserk — the three best relic farms in the game. And since every relic tier yields Mythical Wood at 100%, one Jormuntide run produces a large stock of the material behind the Ancient Sphere (3 wood each) and the Skillfruit Orchard (200).

It also joins Orserk as one of only two documented sources of Dragon Radiant Gem at 10 – 20 per kill. Among Palworld 1.0's roster, Dragon gems come from Aegidron, Eidrolon and Eidrolon Ignis at roughly 1 – 3 at 50% — ten times less.

How to Catch Jormuntide

  1. Bring Ice and Electric. Jormuntide is Dragon/Water — Ice punishes the Dragon half, Electric punishes the Water half. Moldron Cryst (Ice/Ground, 850 – 1,075 Attack) or Univolt Cryst cover Ice; Prixter Lux covers Electric.
  2. Do not bring Fire or Water Pals. It resists both.
  3. Take the Level 55 Altar of the Windcaller version if you only want the Pal — the partner skill and Watering Lv7 are identical at every level.
  4. Use Sol or Ancient Spheres at Level 80, and get it into the red first — the HP factor runs 0.769 to 1.0.
  5. Or breed one. At CombiRank 590 from a Huge Dragon Egg, breeding is reasonable — and that egg also produces Orserk at CombiRank 120.

Skills & Stats

Jormuntide is rideable across water, and its partner skill increases your and your Pals' damage to enemies afflicted with Soak by 50~65%.

That is one of the largest conditional damage buffs in Palworld — and unlike most, the condition is trivially easy to meet, because another Pal applies it for you:

  • Ophydia — its Glorious Mist partner skill makes your own attacks inflict Soak 2.
  • Jormuntide+50~65% damage to anything Soaked.
  • Elgrove Crystfreezes any Soak-afflicted enemy in a single strike, and Freeze also gives a ×1.09 capture multiplier.

Run Ophydia with Jormuntide and everything you hit takes half again as much damage. Add Elgrove Cryst and the same setup also freezes targets for capture. Three party slots, and it works on anything with no elemental requirement at all.

    Its signature moves:

  • Dragon Meteor (600)
  • Geyser Gush (600)
  • Hydro Laser (450)
  • Slither Slam (400)

Work and stats card listing Jormuntide's Watering Lv7 and Level 80 stat ranges.

    At Level 80:

  • HP: 6,100 – 7,660
  • Attack: 820 – 1,036
  • Defense: 650 – 830

That Attack figure matches Panthalus, Silvance and Renjishi among Palworld 1.0's Pals, on a frame with a larger health pool than most.

At base it brings Watering Lv7 — second only to Shaolong's Lv8 — which matters for two reasons. Watering runs your farm plots, and it is also the requirement for staffing a Crusher, the station most players struggle to staff because every other early building wants Handiwork instead.

Practical tips

  • Pair it with Ophydia. She applies Soak, Jormuntide adds 50 – 65% damage to Soaked targets. Add Elgrove Cryst to freeze them.
  • Farm the Level 80 population for Dragon Radiant Gem at 10 – 20 (100%) and the full relic ladder.
  • Its relic table matches Suzaku and Orserk — the three best farms in the game.
  • Watering Lv7 makes it one of the few good Crusher operators.
  • Bring Ice and Electric; it resists Fire and Water.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

A Level 80 farming circuit only pays off if the Relic Recycler is processing the haul while you are away. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps your production and your World Tree routes live around the clock, so a run turns into ingots, cores, schematics and Skill Fruit on its own schedule. Full crossplay lets a group split the circuit, and one-click backups and automatic updates protect the stockpile.

Conclusion

Jormuntide is a Dragon/Water Pal found at Level 55 at the Altar of the Windcaller and Level 80 in the World Tree. Its partner skill grants +50~65% damage to Soak-afflicted enemies — a huge conditional buff made trivial by pairing it with Ophydia, whose skill applies Soak to your own attacks. At base it brings Watering Lv7, second-best in the game and the answer to staffing a Crusher. And its Level 80 drop table matches Suzaku and Orserk: Dragon Radiant Gem at 10 – 20 (100%) plus 30 – 50 Decayed relics at 100%. Bring Ice and Electric attackers.
