Strongest Pals in Palworld 1.0: All 298 Ranked by Max Stats

Card showing the highest Attack, HP and Defense values across all 298 Palworld Pals at maximum investment.

Take all 298 Pals in Palworld 1.0, put every one of them at Level 80 with maximum investment — perfect IVs, four-star condensing, a full Statue of Power, Trust Lv.10 and Awakening — and the ranking that comes out is not the one most tier lists imply. Bellanoir tops Attack at 2,812 and Panthalus tops both HP and Defense, but the more useful finding is the shape of the list: the gap from the worst Pal to the best is only 1.66× on Attack. That is far smaller than the fourfold swing you get from element matchup — which changes what you should actually be optimising.

The Top of Every Column

At full investment, the leaders are:

StatLeaderValueRunner-up
AttackBellanoir (Dark)2,812Necromus, Neptilius — 2,730
HPPanthalus (Water)21,596Mammorest, Mammorest Cryst — 19,699
DefensePanthalus (Water)3,540Paladius — 2,634

Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero share the Attack crown at 2,812, ahead of Necromus and Neptilius at 2,730, then Frostallion, Frostallion Noct and Jetragon at 2,648.

Panthalus takes both defensive columns outright, and it is not close on Defense — see below.

Note what those numbers represent. They are not base stats. They are the ceiling: Level 80, IV bonus +30%, Pal Essence Condenser +20%, Statue of Power +60%, Trust Lv.10 and Awakening, all applied. A wild catch sits far lower. What matters here is the relative ordering, which holds at any investment level.

The Spread Is Smaller Than You Think

Card comparing the best and worst stat values in Palworld, showing how narrow the range is.

This is the number that reframes everything:

StatLowest in the gameHighestRatio
AttackMozzarina — 1,689Bellanoir — 2,8121.66×
HPChikipi — 14,307Panthalus — 21,5961.51×
DefenseFuddler, Leezpunk — 1,593Panthalus — 3,5402.22×

A fully maxed Chikipi hits for 64% of what a fully maxed Bellanoir hits for. The literal starter chicken, against the game's hardest-hitting raid boss. That is the entire range of the roster.

Now put that against element matchup. Hitting a weakness is roughly 2× damage and hitting a resistance roughly 0.5× — a fourfold swing, which is more than twice the whole best-to-worst spread of the Attack column.

The practical conclusion is blunt: which Pal you bring matters less than what element it is. A mid-tier Pal of the right element out-damages an S-tier Pal of the wrong one, comfortably. That is also why type converters are worth a party slot — they buy you the 2× rather than the 1.1×.

Where the roster spread does matter is Defense, at 2.22× — the widest of the three, and the reason a genuine tank is a real choice rather than a cosmetic one.

Panthalus Is the Only Real Outlier

Card showing Panthalus as a statistical outlier in Palworld with 3,540 Defense.

Across 298 Pals, exactly one sits meaningfully outside the pack.

Panthalus's Defense of 3,540 is 34% above Paladius at 2,634 — the next-best Pal in the entire game. For scale, the gap from second place to tenth place in Defense is under 8%. Panthalus is a category of one.

Its HP of 21,596 leads by nearly 1,900 as well, which is the second-largest lead anywhere in the table.

But it is not a damage dealer. Panthalus's Attack of 2,423 is unremarkable — plenty of Pals beat it. It is a wall, and it should be used as one: the Pal you field when a fight is long and you need something that does not die.

Compare that with the Attack column, where nothing is an outlier. Bellanoir's 2,812 is only 3% clear of Necromus and Neptilius, and 6% clear of Frostallion, Jetragon and Frostallion Noct. Six Pals are effectively tied for the top. There is no single best attacker in Palworld — there is a cluster, and you should pick from it on element and partner skill rather than on the stat sheet.

At the other end, the low tier is equally flat. Lamball, Cattiva and Depresso are statistically identical — 14,906 HP, 1,899 Attack, 1,803 Defense apiece. Whatever separates those three, it is not their statline.

Element Averages Barely Move

Card showing average Attack by element across all 298 Palworld Pals.

Averaging every Pal that carries each element gives:

ElementPalsAvg AttackAvg DefenseAvg HP
Dragon252,3332,20217,524
Fire442,2662,03916,321
Dark732,2552,04016,495
Ice382,1782,06616,552
Ground442,1752,14716,657
Electric252,1631,97916,116
Water482,1362,03316,161
Grass472,1272,03216,647
Neutral412,0651,99616,113

Dragon is the strongest element on average and Neutral the weakest — by 13%. Across nine elements and 298 Pals, that is the whole story. Dragon also leads Defense and HP, so it is genuinely the best-statted element rather than a glass cannon.

Dark is the largest element by far, at 73 Pals — a quarter of the roster — and still manages the third-highest average Attack. If you want depth of choice in one element, Dark has it. Dragon and Electric are the smallest at 25 each, so your options there are limited even though Dragon's average is the best.

Neutral being last is worth remembering for a different reason: Neutral is also the only element with no type converter and no offensive advantage against anything. There is no case for building a Neutral damage team.

How to Use This

  1. Stop optimising for the stat sheet. The roster spans 1.66× on Attack; matchup spans 4×.
  2. Pick attackers from the top cluster on element, not on rank — Bellanoir, Necromus, Neptilius, Frostallion, Frostallion Noct and Jetragon are within 6% of each other.
  3. Bring Panthalus when a fight is long. Its Defense lead is the only genuine outlier in the game.
  4. Lean Dragon if you are building around one element — best average Attack, Defense and HP.
  5. Never build a Neutral damage team — lowest averages, no matchup advantage, no converter.
  6. Spend your condensing on matchup coverage, not on squeezing the last 3% out of a top-tier attacker.

Practical tips

  • Attack spans only 1.66× across all 298 Pals at full investment. Element matchup spans 4×.
  • Bellanoir leads Attack at 2,812, but five other Pals are within 6%.
  • Panthalus is the only true outlier — Defense 3,540, some 34% above second place.
  • Panthalus is not an attacker. Its 2,423 Attack is mid-table; use it as a wall.
  • Defense is the widest column at 2.22×, which is why tanks are a real choice.
  • Dragon has the best averages; Neutral the worst — and Neutral has no converter either.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Maxing a Pal to the numbers on this page is a long project — condensing takes 48 duplicates, Statue of Power needs a steady Pal Essence supply, and Trust Lv.10 is earned over many sessions. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps that project running whether or not the host is online, so breeding runs and base production continue between play sessions. Full crossplay lets a group split the duplicate-hunting, and one-click backups protect a roster that represents dozens of hours.

Conclusion

Ranked at maximum investment, Palworld 1.0's 298 Pals produce a much flatter table than tier lists suggest. Bellanoir leads Attack at 2,812 and Panthalus leads both HP (21,596) and Defense (3,540) — but the entire roster spans just 1.66× on Attack and 1.51× on HP, meaning a fully maxed Chikipi still lands 64% of Bellanoir's damage. Against that, element matchup is a fourfold swing, so what you convert your damage to matters more than which Pal you spent your duplicates on. Panthalus is the single genuine outlier at 34% clear of second place on Defense, while the Attack leaderboard is a six-way cluster within 6%. By element, Dragon averages best and Neutral worst, separated by only 13% — and since Neutral also has no converter and no offensive advantage, it is the one element with no case for a damage build.
