Sphere Modules in Palworld 1.0: Every Module & How Much Capture Power It Adds

Card listing Palworld's six sphere modules with technology levels and capture power bonuses.

Every guide to catching high-level Pals tells you to upgrade your spheres. Almost none mention that you can also modify them. Sphere Modules attach to your Pal Spheres and change how they fly and how hard they catch — up to +3 Capture Power, which is a larger bonus than the fully-maxed Statue of Power provides. There are six of them, they run from Technology 19 to 69, and they are among the most overlooked items in the game.

The trade-off is stated plainly in game: "Equipping it makes the sphere heavier, reducing its range but increasing its capture power."

What +3 Capture Power Is Actually Worth

Card comparing sphere module capture bonuses against the Statue of Power and sphere tiers.

Capture Power is the number that decides whether a sphere sticks, and Palworld gives you several sources. Put them side by side:

SourceCapture Power
Pal Sphere (basic)7
Ancient Sphere64
Statue of Power, fully maxed+7.5
Sphere Module+1 to +3

The Statue of Power costs 100 Lifmunk Effigies to max and gives +7.5. A Slider, Sniper II or Homing module gives +3 — so roughly two and a half modules equal the entire effigy grind, and modules are craftable rather than collected.

That reframes them considerably. If you are hunting effigies purely to improve your catch rate, the Slider at Technology 39 is a much shorter path to a meaningful chunk of the same benefit.

Remember what else stacks. Capture chance is not only about power:

  • The HP factor, running from 0.769 at full health to 1.0 at zero — bringing a target low matters more than any module.
  • Status effects multiply the result: Freeze ×1.09, a bear trap ×1.14.
  • The Ring of Mercy (Technology 18) prevents lethal damage, so you do not kill what you meant to catch.

A module is a permanent, passive addition to all of that.

Which Module to Actually Build

Card recommending Heavy Weight early, Slider in the mid game and Homing at the end.

Heavy Weight (Technology 19) is the cheap starter — 10 Paldium Fragment, 10 Ingot and 20 Stone, all trivially available, for +1 Capture. Build it the moment you unlock it; there is no reason not to.

Curve (Technology 23) is the early value pick. It arrives only four technology levels later and gives +2 Capture — double Heavy Weight — for materials that are still ordinary, plus just 2 Ancient Civilization Parts. If you are choosing one early module, this is it.

Sniper (Technology 31) adds range instead of curve, at the same +2 Capture. Which of the two you prefer is a throwing-style question rather than a power one — Sniper is easier if you like catching from a distance, Curve if you are close.

Slider (Technology 39) is the efficiency peak. It reaches the maximum +3 Capture thirty technology levels before the Legendary option, and its cost is real but not extreme: 100 Paldium Fragment, 30 Refined Ingot, 15 Carbon Fiber, 8 Corrosive Solvent and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts. For most players this is the last module they need.

Sniper II (Technology 48) and Homing (Technology 69) give the same +3. Neither raises capture power beyond Slider — you pay for the trajectory behaviour. Homing is the collector's item: 50 Soralite Ingot, 3 AI Core, 40 Ancient Civilization Parts, 50 Dark Fragment and 5 Ancient Civilization Core for a sphere that tracks its target.

The blunt version: build Heavy Weight immediately, Curve at 23, Slider at 39, and treat the last two as optional.

The Ancient Civilization Parts Problem

Card showing that five of six sphere modules require Ancient Civilization Parts.

Look down the materials column and one item appears in five of the six recipes:

ModuleAncient Civilization Parts
Heavy Weight
Curve2
Sniper8
Slider10
Sniper II20
Homing40

Ancient Civilization Parts are not craftable. They come primarily from Alpha Pals, which drop 1 – 8 per kill at fixed, marked map locations — which makes Alpha hunting a prerequisite for the module tree, exactly as it is for every automated mine in the game.

Two other gates worth planning for. Sniper II needs 2 Ancient Civilization Core and Homing needs 5, plus 3 AI Core — and AI Core sits at the end of the Pure Quartz → Circuit Board → Computer chain. The Homing module is genuinely an endgame project, not a catch-up upgrade.

Carbon Fiber appears in Slider (15) and Sniper II (30), which routes back through Coal — and Blazamut and Blazamut Ryu each drop 10 Coal at a 100% rate.

Practical tips

  • Modules add up to +3 Capture Power — roughly 40% of a fully-maxed Statue of Power, for a craft rather than 100 effigies.
  • Build Heavy Weight at Technology 19 the moment it unlocks. It is nearly free.
  • Curve at 23 gives +2 — double Heavy Weight — for two Ancient Civilization Parts.
  • Slider at 39 hits the +3 cap. Sniper II and Homing add trajectory, not power.
  • Five of six modules need Ancient Civilization Parts — farm Alpha Pals first.
  • Lowering the target's HP still matters more: the HP factor runs 0.769 to 1.0.
  • Freeze (×1.09) and bear traps (×1.14) multiply on top of everything above.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Modules are gated on Ancient Civilization Parts, which come from Alpha Pals on respawn timers — content that is only available while the world is running. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps every Alpha location live around the clock so an hour of play is an hour of progress toward the module you want, with full crossplay so a group can split the circuit and one-click backups protecting the parts you have banked.

Conclusion

Palworld has six Sphere Modules, from Heavy Weight at Technology 19 to the Legendary Homing at 69, and they add between +1 and +3 Capture Power to every sphere you throw. That upper figure is worth putting in context: a fully-maxed Statue of Power costs 100 Lifmunk Effigies for +7.5, so a single +3 module is a large fraction of that grind for a craftable item. Curve at Technology 23 is the early value pick at +2, and Slider at Technology 39 reaches the +3 ceilingSniper II and Homing add trajectory behaviour rather than power. Plan around Ancient Civilization Parts, which five of the six recipes need and only Alpha Pals reliably provide.
