How to Beat The Queen in Valheim (Offering, Attacks & Strategy)

The Queen does not have a rotation — it has phases, and each one adds a new attack as its health drops. It opens with two moves and finishes with seven, which means the fight you learn in the first minute is not the fight that kills you. At 12,500 health with no weakness at all and Pierce resisted at ×0.5, it is also the point where a bow-first player has to change how they fight. Here is the whole unlock ladder.

The Queen at a Glance
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Health | 12,500 |
| Biome | Mistlands — the Infested Citadel |
| Offering | Sealbreaker first, then 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies |
| Resistant to | Pierce ×0.5 |
| Immune to | Spirit |
| Neutral to | Blunt, Slash, Fire, Frost, Lightning, Poison (all ×1) |
| Drops | 5 Majestic Carapace, The Queen Trophy |
The offering works differently from every other boss. The first summon needs a Sealbreaker, crafted from the 3 Torn Spirits that Yagluth drops. After that, resummoning takes 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies — so the group's second and third trophies cost Mistlands farming rather than another Yagluth kill.
Attacks Unlock as Its Health Drops

| Attack | Damage | Cooldown | Unlocks at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Slap | 130 Slash | 4 s | From the start |
| Pierce AoE | 150 Pierce, 4.5 m radius | 4 s | From the start |
| Call | Summons adds | 60 s | below 99% |
| Teleport | 200 m range | 60 s | below 90% |
| Spit | 20 projectiles, 40 Blunt + 40 Poison each | 20 s | below 80% |
| Bite | 140 Pierce + 100 Poison | 10 s | below 70% |
| Rush | 100 Slash, 8 m arc | 25 s | below 60% |
Read the first two rows: both are on a 4 second cooldown. The Slap covers a 10 metre, 145° arc and the Pierce AoE hits everything within 4.5 metres. Between them you are being hit roughly every two seconds from the opening moment, which is why this fight punishes standing still more than any previous boss.
The Teleport at 90% is the mechanic people are unprepared for. A 200-metre reposition means the Queen can simply leave and reappear — you cannot corner it, and you cannot rely on a prepared firing position lasting.
The last 40% of the health bar is where the full kit is live. Plan your healing and mead around that, not around the opening.
The Call at 99% means adds are present for essentially the whole fight. Do not treat them as a phase event; treat them as constant background pressure.
What to Bring

There is no weakness to exploit, so the goal is simply to avoid the one penalty.
- Think twice about the bow. Pierce is ×0.5, and by the Mistlands your bow is likely your most upgraded weapon. Note though that arrows carry their own damage type — a Frost arrow's 52 Frost is unresisted here, so only the Pierce half is halved.
- Blunt, Slash, Fire, Frost and Lightning are all neutral. Any of them is a fine choice, so use whatever you have upgraded.
- Magic is genuinely viable here — this is the Eitr biome, and staves are neutral. If you have built into Eitr, the Queen is the boss that rewards it.
- Carapace armour, crafted from the same Mistlands materials you have been gathering.
- A Feather Cape is close to essential. The Citadel arena has drops, and fall damage in a fight this mobile is a real cause of death.
- Poison resistance. Both the Bite (100 Poison) and the Spit (40 Poison per projectile) apply it.
Spirit damage does nothing — it is immune.
The Reward: The Eitr Power

5 Majestic Carapace drop from the kill — endgame crafting material for the top Mistlands gear tier.
The Queen Trophy grants a Forsaken Power:
100% increased Eitr regeneration, 100% reduced sneak cost, and 50% poison resistance.
The Eitr clause is the one that matters. Base Eitr regeneration runs 2 to 4 per second depending on how empty your bar is — doubling that is the difference between a staff being a novelty and a staff being your main weapon. If you intend to play a mage at all, this is the power you leave switched on.
The 100% reduced sneak cost is quietly excellent too. Sneaking normally costs 5 stamina per second; removing that entirely changes how you move through the Mistlands, which is a biome where being seen is usually the problem.
Hang the trophy at the Sacrificial Stones at the centre of the map, and resummon with 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies so everyone in the group gets the power.
How to Beat The Queen
- Craft the Sealbreaker from Yagluth's 3 Torn Spirits.
- Reach the Hive Seat at the top of the Infested Citadel.
- Use frost or poison arrows if you shoot — their special half is unresisted; plain arrows are halved.
- Bring a Feather Cape for the drops, and poison resistance for the Bite and Spit.
- Expect adds from 99% and treat them as constant, not episodic.
- Save your healing for below 60%, when all seven attacks are live.
- Do not plan around a fixed position — it teleports 200 metres from 90%.
- Take the trophy to the Sacrificial Stones, then resummon for the group.
Practical tips
- Two attacks on a 4 second cooldown from the opening — 130 Slash and 150 Pierce AoE. Keep moving.
- Pierce is ×0.5 — but a frost arrow's 52 Frost half is not, so archery is workable with the right ammunition.
- Everything else is neutral, including magic — this is the boss that rewards an Eitr build.
- Attacks unlock at 99, 90, 80, 70 and 60% health. The last 40% is a different fight.
- Resummoning costs 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies, not another Sealbreaker.
- The power doubles Eitr regeneration from a base of 2–4 per second.
Running your own Valheim server
The Queen is the first boss that a group has to reach together — the Citadel is a long approach, and the Sealbreaker is a one-off craft. A gamever Valheim server keeps that world live for up to 10 players, so the Mistlands trip and the trophy farming for resummons can happen across evenings rather than in one sitting. One-click backups protect a world six bosses deep, and automatic updates keep client and server aligned.
Conclusion
The Queen has 12,500 health, no weakness of any kind, and resists Pierce at ×0.5 — so plain arrows are a poor choice — though a frost arrow's 52 Frost half is unresisted, which keeps archery viable with the right ammunition. Summon it at the Hive Seat atop the Mistlands Infested Citadel with a Sealbreaker built from Yagluth's Torn Spirits, then with 3 Seeker Soldier Trophies for every resummon. Its distinguishing feature is that attacks unlock as its health falls — Call at 99%, Teleport at 90%, Spit at 80%, Bite at 70% and Rush at 60% — on top of a 130 Slash and a 150 Pierce AoE that are both live from the start on 4 second cooldowns. Bring a Feather Cape, poison resistance and any non-Pierce damage; magic is fully viable. The reward is 5 Majestic Carapace and a power granting double Eitr regeneration, free sneaking and 50% poison resistance.
