Every Forsaken Power in Valheim After the Rebalance (Full Numbers)

Card listing all seven rebalanced Valheim Forsaken Powers.

Every Forsaken Power in Valheim was rebalanced in the Call to Arms update, and several of them stopped doing one thing and started doing three. If you learned these powers before September 2025 — or read a guide written before then — your mental model is out of date. Here is the complete current list with Iron Gate's own numbers, and which ones are now worth switching to.

The Full List

BossPower, as rebalanced
Eikthyr60% reduced stamina usage for running, jumping and swimming
The Elder+60% chop and pickaxe damage, +30% health regeneration
Bonemass25% resistance vs pierce, slash and blunt, 100% reduced block stamina usage, 5 stamina returned per block
ModerAlways tailwind when sailing, +300 carry weight, +10% movement speed, 50% frost resistance
Yagluth50% Lightning resistance, +25 Farm skill, 10% increased damage
The Queen100% increased Eitr regeneration, 100% reduced sneak cost, 50% poison resistance
Fader100% Adrenaline increase, 50% reduced stagger meter modifier, 50% fire resistance

Notice the pattern: most powers now bundle two or three effects. Only Eikthyr remains a single-line power — and it is still the one most people leave equipped for general travel.

Moder is the biggest winner and it is not close. The tailwind applies to sailing — it was already the best travel power in the game; it now also carries 300 carry weight, 10% movement speed and 50% frost resistance. For hauling ore, sailing, or crossing the Mountains, nothing else competes.

And Moder's carry-weight bonus gained a new use in the same update, because Call to Arms also added: "You can no longer dodge while overencumbered." A power that raises the weight ceiling now protects your ability to dodge, not just your walking speed.

The Defensive Powers

Card comparing Valheim's defensive Forsaken Powers after the rebalance.

Bonemass was rewritten around blocking, and this is the change most worth acting on:

  • 25% resistance vs pierce, slash and blunt — the three physical types.
  • 100% reduced block stamina usage.
  • 5 stamina returned per block.

Read those last two together. Blocking becomes free, and each block gives stamina back. Combined with the Call to Arms change that Perfect Block no longer costs stamina and the reduced movement penalty on tower shields, a dedicated shield-carrier is now a genuinely sustainable role rather than a stamina sink.

Fader is the specialist counter to hard-hitting enemies:

  • 100% Adrenaline increase — directly doubles your trinket engine.
  • 50% reduced stagger meter modifier.
  • 50% fire resistance.

Fader's adrenaline bonus only matters if you wear a trinket, since adrenaline is generated only while a trinket is equipped. The two systems were designed together and shipped in the same update.

The Queen is the caster's power, and its three lines are unusually well matched: 100% increased Eitr regeneration for magic, 100% reduced sneak cost for approach, and 50% poison resistance for the Mistlands and Swamp.

Yagluth is the most miscellaneous: 50% Lightning resistance, 10% increased damage, and — oddly — +25 Farm skill. That farming line is the one nobody expects, and it makes Yagluth a sensible power to have equipped during a base-building or planting session rather than a fight.

Choosing by Activity

Card matching Valheim Forsaken Powers to the activity they suit.

The rebalance turned these from a progression ladder into a toolkit. A later power is not automatically better — it is better at something.

What you are doingPower
Travelling, sailing, haulingModer — tailwind at sea, +300 weight, +10% speed
Clearing forest, miningThe Elder+60% chop and pickaxe damage
Tanking a boss with a shieldBonemass — free blocks, stamina back per block
CastingThe Queen — double Eitr regen
Fighting heavy hittersFader — halved stagger modifier, double adrenaline
Farming or buildingYagluth+25 Farm skill
Long overland runsEikthyr — 60% less stamina for running and jumping

The Elder's health regeneration line is easy to overlook. 30% increased health regeneration turns a chopping trip into a recovery period, which is worth remembering after a rough fight.

Elemental resistances are now spread across four powersfrost on Moder, lightning on Yagluth, poison on The Queen, fire on Fader — each at 50%. That is a clean mapping worth memorising, because it means the right power for a biome is often a resistance choice rather than a combat one.

What This Means for a Group

Card giving practical Forsaken Power advice for a Valheim group.

Forsaken Powers are per-player, which makes them one of the few things in Valheim that genuinely reward a group coordinating rather than duplicating.

    Three things worth agreeing on:

  1. Do not all run Moder. It is the best general-purpose power, which is exactly why a group of five all using it wastes four slots. One person on Moder covers the hauling.
  2. Someone should hold Bonemass in a boss fight — the free blocking and stamina return is a role, not a preference.
  3. Match resistances to the biome you are heading into: Moder for frost, Yagluth for lightning, The Queen for poison, Fader for fire.

And note the interaction that ties the update together: activating a Forsaken Power grants +10 adrenaline — the single largest source in the game outside a Fader-boosted parry. Powers and trinkets feed each other directly.

One practical reminder. Powers are activated at will and have a cooldown, so switching which power you carry is a trip to the relevant boss altar, not a menu choice. Plan the swap around what your group is about to do rather than mid-expedition.

Practical tips

  • All seven powers were rebalanced in Call to Arms — pre-2025 guides are out of date.
  • Moder is the best all-rounder: tailwind when sailing, +300 carry weight, +10% speed, 50% frost resistance.
  • You cannot dodge while overencumbered, which makes carry weight a combat stat now.
  • Bonemass makes blocking free and returns 5 stamina per block.
  • Yagluth grants +25 Farm skill — worth equipping for a planting session.
  • The four 50% elemental resistances: Moder frost, Yagluth lightning, Queen poison, Fader fire.
  • Fader doubles adrenaline — only useful with a trinket equipped.
  • Spread powers across your group rather than everyone running the same one.

Running your own Valheim server

Coordinating powers, roles and resistances across a group only pays off when the same people return to the same world — which is what a persistent server provides and an ad-hoc hosted session does not. A gamever Valheim server keeps your world online around the clock for up to 10 players, takes one-click backups before big updates like the coming 1.0, and applies updates so client and server versions never drift apart.

Conclusion

Call to Arms rebalanced all seven Forsaken Powers, and most of them now carry two or three effects instead of one. Moder became the standout all-rounder — tailwind when sailing, +300 carry weight, +10% movement speed, 50% frost resistance — and matters more than ever now that you cannot dodge while overencumbered. Bonemass was rebuilt around blocking with 100% reduced block stamina usage and 5 stamina returned per block, making a shield-carrier a sustainable role. The Queen doubles Eitr regeneration, Fader doubles Adrenaline and halves the stagger meter modifier, The Elder gives +60% chopping and mining damage plus 30% health regeneration, Yagluth unexpectedly grants +25 Farm skill, and Eikthyr remains the single-line stamina power. The four 50% elemental resistances map cleanly — frost, lightning, poison, fire — so pick your power by the task and the biome, and spread them across your group rather than all taking the best one.
