Haldor & Hildir in Valheim: Where to Find Them and Every Price
Haldor is never closer than 1500 metres from the world centre, and Hildir sits between 3000 and 5100. Those two numbers are the whole reason people struggle to find them — you cannot stumble across a trader near spawn, because the game does not place them there. This guide gives both spawn rules, both full inventories with prices, and the gem values that pay for it all.

The detection range is the useful number for Haldor. His icon appears on your map when you get within roughly 320 to 453 metres, which means you do not need to walk directly into his camp — sweeping a Black Forest at that spacing will find him.
Hildir sits considerably further out, and in the Meadows rather than the Black Forest, which is where most people go wrong looking for her. Her camp is also enclosed by a protective barrier, so she is never under threat.
Neither accepts anything but coins.

The Megingjord at 950 coins is the most important purchase in the game for most players. It grants +150 carry weight and weighs 2 itself — and since you cannot dodge while overencumbered, carry weight is a combat stat as much as a convenience. It is bettered later by Moder's power at +300, but the belt arrives far earlier and the two do not compete for the same slot.
The Dverger Circlet at 620 is hands-free light, which matters in the Swamp and the Mountain and remains useful right through to the Mistlands.
The Egg at 1,500 is the most expensive item either trader sells, and it only appears after Yagluth — it hatches into a chicken, which is the start of the whole hen-breeding chain.

Silver Necklaces are Haldor only; Hildir buys the three gems.
Read the stack column rather than the unit price. A full stack of Amber Pearls is 500 coins and a stack of Silver Necklaces is 600 — so two or three good Burial Chamber and crypt runs comfortably fund a Megingjord.
Gems come from the places you are already clearing — Burial Chambers, Sunken Crypts, Mountain caves — which is why selling loot is a better income strategy than hunting for coins directly. Coins themselves also drop, notably in the Ashlands.
Do not sell Rubies casually if you intend to craft, since several recipes want them — but for pure income, a 20-Ruby stack at 400 is the densest gem you will carry.
Hildir's Stock
Hildir sells appearance items almost exclusively, and most clothing carries 1 armour — they are not gear.

The Barber Kit at 600 coins is the one item with a mechanical purpose — it changes your character's appearance, which is otherwise fixed at creation.
Most of her stock is locked, and not behind bosses like Haldor's. Hildir's inventory unlocks through three quest chests — brass, silver and bronze — which come from three separate dungeons. That is a substantial side quest in its own right, and it is covered in Hildir's quests.
So the honest summary: Haldor sells things that change how you play; Hildir sells things that change how you look, plus a Barber Kit. Find Haldor first.

- Sweep Black Forest biomes at roughly 300-metre spacing — Haldor's icon appears at 320 – 453 m.
- Do not look near spawn. Haldor is never within 1500 m of the centre.
- Look for Hildir in the Meadows at 3000 – 5100 m, not in the Black Forest.
- Save gems rather than spending them — a full Amber Pearl stack is 500 coins.
- Buy the Megingjord first at 950. Carry weight is a combat stat.
- Come back after The Elder and after Yagluth — three items unlock that way.
