Every Egg Type in Palworld: Nine Families, Three Sizes, One Missing Egg

Palworld's egg list looks long until you see the grid behind it: nine elemental families, each in three sizes. That would be twenty-seven — except there is no plain Dragon Egg, only Large and Huge. So the real answer is twenty-six named egg types, and once you know which family and which size you are holding, you can narrow what is inside it to a short list before the incubator ever finishes.
The Nine Egg Families

| Family | Element |
|---|---|
| Common Egg | Neutral |
| Verdant Egg | Grass |
| Damp Egg | Water |
| Scorching Egg | Fire |
| Frozen Egg | Ice |
| Electric Egg | Electric |
| Rocky Egg | Ground |
| Dark Egg | Dark |
| Dragon Egg | Dragon |
The naming is thematic rather than literal, which is why the mapping is worth memorising once: Damp is Water, Scorching is Fire, Verdant is Grass, Rocky is Ground. Only Electric, Frozen, Dark and Dragon say what they are.
Common Eggs are the Neutral family, not a "generic" egg. A Common Egg holds Lamball, Cattiva, Chikipi, Vixy, Cremis, Melpaca, Direhowl, Mozzarina, Nitewing, Tocotoco and the rest of the Neutral roster — it is a specific pool, not a fallback.
Each family covers its whole element across all tiers. The Dark Egg line runs from Depresso and Daedream at the bottom up to Necromus and Frostallion Noct at the top — same element, three different eggs.
Three Sizes, With One Gap

Eight of the nine families have all three sizes. Dragon has only Large and Huge — there is no plain Dragon Egg in the game, which is why the total is twenty-six rather than twenty-seven.
Size is the tier indicator, and it is reliable:
| Size | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Plain | Starters and low-tier Pals |
| Large | The mid-game roster |
| Huge | Endgame Pals, legendaries and raid bosses |
Two Huge eggs have unusually short lists, and both are worth knowing. The Huge Electric Egg contains exactly one Pal: Grizzbolt. If you find one, you know precisely what is inside it before you incubate. The Huge Damp Egg holds only four — Suzaku Aqua, Faleris Aqua, Neptilius and Panthalus — which, given Panthalus flies and swims at 3,000, makes it one of the most valuable eggs in the game per unit of uncertainty.
The Huge Common Egg is the surprise. "Common" suggests nothing special, but the Huge version holds Kingpaca, Sibelyx Primo, Starryon Primo, Tetroise Primo, Hartalis and Paladius — including two of the three fastest ground mounts in the game.
Reading an Egg Before You Hatch It

Element tells you which of nine pools. Size tells you which tier within it. Together those two facts cut the possibilities from 300-odd Pals to a list you can read in a second.
The Huge Dark Egg is the single best egg to find, and it is not close. Its list is Helzephyr Lux, Menasting, Lyleen Noct, Shadowbeak, Selyne, Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Xenolord, Necromus and Frostallion Noct — two raid bosses, three of the strongest Pals in the game and a top-tier flying mount. Every entry on that list is worth hatching.
The Huge Dragon Egg is the deepest pool at the top end, holding Elphidran Aqua, Relaxaurus and Relaxaurus Lux, both Jormuntides, Quivern Botan, Blazamut Ryu, Xenogard, Astegon, Silvegis, Eidrolon Ignis, Aegidron and Orserk. More entries means less certainty, so a Huge Dragon Egg is a good find but a vaguer one than a Huge Dark.
Plain eggs are worth hatching anyway. They are your source of the work suitability +1 Pals — Clovee is Verdant, Ribbuny is Verdant, Puffolt is Electric — and a base needs those far more than it needs another legendary.
Note that subspecies share eggs with their base forms. Smokie and Smokie Cryst are both in the Dark Egg pool; Foxparks is Scorching while Foxparks Cryst is Frozen — so a subspecies can sit in a different element's egg than the Pal it is a variant of. That is the one place the grid stops being intuitive.
Practical tips
- Twenty-six egg types: nine families × three sizes, minus the plain Dragon Egg.
- Damp is Water, Scorching is Fire, Verdant is Grass, Rocky is Ground.
- Common Egg is the Neutral family, not a generic fallback.
- The Huge Electric Egg holds exactly one Pal — Grizzbolt.
- The Huge Damp Egg holds only four, including Panthalus.
- The Huge Dark Egg is the best find — every entry on its list is worth having.
- Subspecies can sit in a different element's egg than their base form.
Running your own Palworld 1.0 server
Incubation runs on the world's clock, which means an egg only hatches on a world that is actually running. A gamever Palworld server keeps that clock going with full crossplay, automatic updates and one-click backups, so a rack of incubators is producing between sessions rather than frozen with the rest of the map.
Conclusion
Palworld has twenty-six named egg types, built from nine elemental families in three sizes each — with the one gap being that there is no plain Dragon Egg. The families are Common (Neutral), Verdant (Grass), Damp (Water), Scorching (Fire), Frozen (Ice), Electric, Rocky (Ground), Dark and Dragon, and size reliably indicates tier: plain for starters, Large for the mid-game, Huge for legendaries and raid bosses. Two Huge eggs have unusually short lists — Huge Electric contains only Grizzbolt, and Huge Damp only four Pals including Panthalus — which makes them the most predictable finds in the game. The Huge Dark Egg is the best of all, holding Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Xenolord, Necromus, Frostallion Noct and Shadowbeak among others. And the one place the grid misleads is subspecies, which can sit in a different element's egg than the Pal they are a variant of.
