One Pal Per Work Suitability: The Twelve That Give Your Whole Base +1

Pals working production lines at a Palworld base.

Palworld has twelve work suitabilities, and it turns out each one has exactly one Pal whose Partner Skill raises it by +1 for every other Pal at the base. Not a bonus to itself — a base-wide upgrade to everyone else. That is a complete, deliberate set, and it is almost never presented as one, because the twelve Pals are scattered across the Paldeck from #14 to #179.

The Gathering Half

PalSuitabilityNotes
Clovee #14Gathering +1Happy Clover
Eikthyrdeer Terra #32BLumbering +1Rideable, double jump, Tech 21
Tetroise #142Mining +1Rideable, Tech 48
Amione #47Watering +1Magical Twin Powers
Petallia #89Planting +1Also heals you 75~85% when activated
Cinnamoth #61Farming +1Also attacks with Poison Fog

Clovee at #14 is the earliest of the twelve by a wide margin, which makes Gathering the first suitability you can upgrade base-wide — conveniently, since Gathering is what berry plantations and the early economy run on.

Three of the six do a second job. Petallia heals you for 75~85% of your health on activation, which is one of the strongest emergency heals available from a Partner Skill. Cinnamoth attacks. Eikthyrdeer Terra is a mount with a double jump. So half of this list earns its slot twice over.

Tetroise at Tech 48 is the expensive one, and Mining is the suitability most base owners want raised — worth knowing the wait is long.

The Production Half

PalSuitabilityNotes
Ribbuny #44Handiwork +1Also +15~30% Attack for Neutral Pals in party
Katress Ignis #79BKindling +1Blazing Black Magic
Puffolt #62Generating Electricity +1Crackle Booster
Smokie Cryst #149BCooling +1Cryo Instincts
Mycora #179Medicine Production +1Charming Spore
Wumpo #134Transporting +1Rideable, Tech 45

Handiwork is the one to raise first, because it is the suitability that gates the most stations — and Ribbuny is a common early Pal, so the Handiwork upgrade is available long before the Mining one.

Ribbuny is the only Pal on the entire list with a party skill as well as a base skill, giving +15~30% Attack to Neutral Pals while in your party. Note the two halves are exclusive in practice: a Pal assigned to the base is not in your party, so you pick which half you want.

Two of these are subspeciesKatress Ignis and Smokie Cryst — rather than the base forms. If you have been trying to get a Kindling buff out of an ordinary Katress, that is why nothing is happening.

How to Actually Use Them

Card explaining the conditions on Palworld's work suitability buffs.

The skill applies to all other base Pals, not to the buffer itself. A Clovee does not gather better because it is a Clovee. It makes everyone else gather better. This means the buffing Pal is effectively a support slot at your base rather than a worker — its own work output is beside the point.

It is a base skill, not a party skill. The Pal has to be assigned to the base, working, for the buff to apply. Carrying Clovee in your party does nothing for your base.

And every one says (Does not stack). Two Clovee at the same base is one Clovee's worth of Gathering. Twelve different Pals, however, are twelve different skills — so a base can run all twelve buffs simultaneously if you can spare the worker slots.

Which is the real decision. Each buffing Pal occupies a slot out of your base worker cap. Running all twelve is theoretically possible and practically wasteful on a small base — pick the two or three suitabilities that are actually bottlenecking your production lines.

Stack it with the permanent upgrade. A +1 from a Partner Skill is temporary and conditional; an Applied Handbook raises a Pal's suitability permanently. The two are independent, so a Pal that has read a Handbook and works alongside Clovee gets both.

Practical tips

  • Twelve suitabilities, twelve Pals — the set is complete.
  • The buff applies to all other base Pals, never to the buffer itself.
  • It is base-only. In your party, the Pal does nothing for the base.
  • Every one says (Does not stack) — one per suitability is the cap.
  • Clovee (#14) is the earliest; Tetroise (Tech 48) is the longest wait.
  • Katress Ignis and Smokie Cryst are subspecies, not the base forms.
  • Petallia heals you 75~85% and Ribbuny buffs Neutral Pals — two that earn a slot twice.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Twelve support Pals is twelve worker slots, which is a base-design problem before it is a Pal-catching one — and base layouts are exactly what a group iterates on together. A gamever Palworld server keeps that base live between sessions with automatic updates and one-click backups, so a workforce you spent an evening arranging is still arranged tomorrow.

Conclusion

Palworld has exactly one Pal per work suitability whose Partner Skill grants +1 to every other Pal at the base — a complete twelve-Pal set nobody presents as one. Clovee (Gathering), Eikthyrdeer Terra (Lumbering), Tetroise (Mining), Amione (Watering), Petallia (Planting), Cinnamoth (Farming), Ribbuny (Handiwork), Katress Ignis (Kindling), Puffolt (Electricity), Smokie Cryst (Cooling), Mycora (Medicine Production) and Wumpo (Transporting). The buff applies to all other base Pals, requires the Pal to be assigned to the base rather than in your party, and does not stack — so it is one per suitability, twelve maximum, each costing a worker slot. Two of them are subspecies rather than base forms, and three do a second job entirely: Petallia heals you 75~85%, Ribbuny buffs Neutral Pal attack, and Eikthyrdeer Terra is a double-jumping mount.
