Dungeon Loot Tables in Palworld 1.0: Every Tier, Every Drop Rate

Card showing Palworld's dungeon tiers with their Pal Soul, key and sphere rewards.

Palworld's dungeons all look alike from the outside, and their loot is anything but. The chests inside run on three parallel laddersPal Souls climb from Small to Large, treasure keys from Copper to Gold, and spheres from Mega all the way to Ultimate — and which ladder rung you get is decided entirely by which biome the dungeon is in. Here are the full tables, so you can stop clearing Grass dungeons for Large Pal Souls that will never appear in them.

The Full Loot Tables

DungeonPal SoulKeySphereNotable
Grass01Small — 42.4%CopperMegaMedical supplies, schematics
Grass02Ruby at 100%, Technical Manuals
Forest01Small — 40.3%SilverGigaWeapon and armor schematics
Desert01Medium — 37.9%SilverHyperWeapon and armor schematics
Volcano01Medium — 38.7%SilverHyperWeapon and armor schematics
Snow01Large — 37.8%GoldHyperAdvanced weapon schematics
Sakurajima TreasureLarge — 33.1%GoldLegendaryHigh-tier schematics
Dark Island TreasureLarge — 40.2%GoldUltimateEndgame schematics

Read down the columns and the design is obvious. Biome tier decides everything: Grass and Forest give Small souls and Mega/Giga spheres; Desert and Volcano give Medium souls and Hyper spheres; Snow, Sakurajima and Dark Island give Large souls, Gold keys and the best spheres in the game.

Pal Soul rates barely move — every tier sits between 33% and 42%. You are not getting souls more often at higher tiers, you are getting better souls.

Where to Farm What

Card matching each farming goal to the dungeon tier that provides it.

For Pal Souls — go to Snow, Sakurajima or Dark Island. Souls feed condensing, which is the unavoidable route to a maxed Pal at 4, 8, 12 and 24 duplicates for +5% through +20%. Large Pal Souls are worth far more per clear than Small ones, and Dark Island at 40.2% has the best Large-soul rate in the game.

Carry Nitemary while you do it — its party effect gives +100~200% more Pal Souls, which stacks on top of whatever the dungeon rolls.

For spheres — Dark Island Treasure is the only Ultimate Sphere dungeon. The sphere ladder across dungeons runs Mega → Giga → Hyper → Legendary → Ultimate, and since capture chance scales directly with sphere tier, a stack of free Ultimate Spheres is worth a detour. For reference, the ladder tops out at the Ancient Sphere at 64 Capture Power against a basic Pal Sphere at 7.

For schematics — Snow01, Sakurajima and Dark Island. These are the tiers listing advanced, high-tier and endgame schematics respectively. Remember that schematic rarity permanently sets crafted gear stats, and that the spread is widest on early and mid-tier weapons — a Legendary roll on an endgame weapon is worth only about 20%.

For keys — the tier tells you. Grass gives Copper, Forest/Desert/Volcano give Silver, and Snow/Sakurajima/Dark Island give Gold. This matters because keys open the next chests you find, so a Gold Key from Dark Island is worth more than the run that produced it.

Or skip keys entirely. The Lockpicking Tools replace them: v1 at Technology 16 for Copper, v2 at 25 for Silver, v3 at 53 for Gold — all built from automatable materials. The description says they let you "try" rather than guarantee, but replacing a drop with a craft is usually the better deal.

Grass02 Is the Odd One

Card highlighting Grass02 as the technical manual and Ruby dungeon.

Grass02 does not follow the pattern at all. It carries no Pal Souls, no keys and no spheres. Instead:

DropRate
Ruby100%
Advanced Technical Manual23%
Ancient Technical Manual23%
Weapon and armor schematicsvaries
Skill Fruitsvaries

A guaranteed drop is rare in Palworld's chest tables, and Ruby at 100% makes this the most predictable dungeon in the game.

The Technical Manuals at 23% each are the real draw. Technology points are otherwise earned only by levelling, so anything granting them directly is worth clearing an easy Grass dungeon for — and Grass tiers are the least dangerous content on this list.

Skill Fruits appear here too, which is the mechanism for teaching a Pal an active skill it would not otherwise learn.

Running Dungeons Efficiently

Card giving practical advice for clearing dungeons faster.

Bring the element counter for the biome. A Volcano dungeon is Fire, a Snow dungeon is Ice, and a type advantage is worth roughly 2× damage. A type converter mount gives you that without changing weapons — Azurobe (Water) for Volcano, Ragnahawk (Fire) for Snow and Grass, Chillet (Dragon) for Dark.

Mossanda is the dungeon mount. Its grenade launcher partner skill costs no ammunition and no weapon durability, and dungeons pack multiple enemies between chests — exactly the situation area damage is for. Grizzbolt's minigun is the single-target equivalent.

Carry Flopie with its necklace. "It will stay by your side and automatically gather nearby items" — dungeons are dense with pickups, and this removes the manual collection entirely for 10 Leather, 20 Fiber, 5 Ingot and 15 Paldium Fragment.

Watch your weight rather than your slots. Spheres and ingots are heavy; a Small Pouch (Technology 27) adds inventory slots but not capacity. Lunaris in the party gives +300~600 carrying capacity — worth twelve Weight Status Points and the single best answer to a full inventory mid-dungeon.

One thing dungeons do not drop. Despite widespread claims online, Lotus items — the ingredients for Remedies and Elixirs — do not appear in any documented dungeon loot table, at any tier. If you are hunting Life Lotus or Carrying Lotus, dungeons are not the route.

Practical tips

  • Biome decides the tier. Grass/Forest = Small souls; Desert/Volcano = Medium; Snow/Sakurajima/Dark Island = Large.
  • Pal Soul rates barely change (33 – 42%) — higher tiers give better souls, not more often.
  • Dark Island Treasure is the only Ultimate Sphere source on this list.
  • Grass02 is the outlierRuby at 100% and two Technical Manuals at 23% each, no souls or keys.
  • Carry Nitemary for +100~200% Pal Souls on any soul run.
  • Lockpicking Tools replace Copper, Silver and Gold Keys entirely.
  • Lotus items are not in any dungeon loot table — that claim is unsupported.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Dungeons respawn on timers, so a farming route through Snow and Dark Island is worth exactly as many hours as the world is running. A gamever Palworld 1.0 server keeps every dungeon cycling around the clock, so the Large Pal Souls you need for condensing accumulate across sessions rather than during them. Full crossplay lets a group clear together — dungeons are considerably faster with two — and one-click backups protect the schematics you pulled at 3%.

Conclusion

Palworld's dungeon loot runs on three parallel ladders set by biome: Pal Souls climb Small → Medium → Large, keys climb Copper → Silver → Gold, and spheres climb Mega → Giga → Hyper → Legendary → Ultimate. Grass and Forest give Small souls; Desert and Volcano give Medium; Snow, Sakurajima and Dark Island give Large souls, Gold keys and the best spheres — with Dark Island Treasure at 40.2% the strongest soul source and the only Ultimate Sphere dungeon. Grass02 ignores the pattern entirely, offering Ruby at 100% and Advanced and Ancient Technical Manuals at 23% each — the easiest technology points in the game. And whatever you read elsewhere, no documented dungeon table contains Lotus items.
