315 Active Skills in Palworld — and Three Lists You Never See

Pals fighting in Palworld.

Palworld's active skill list runs to 315 entries — and that is only the list you can see. Three further categories sit alongside it: 11 breeding-only skills, 30 boss skills and 39 unrevealed ones, for 395 in the game files. More usefully, every skill carries four numbers, and most guides quote only one of them.

Four Separate Lists

Card listing Palworld's four active skill categories.

ListCount
Active Skills315
Breeding Only Active Skills11
Boss Active Skills30
Unrevealed Active Skills39
Total in the files395

The 315 is the list that matters for team-building, because it is the one your Pals draw from and the one skill fruits teach into. The 93 skill fruits cover less than a third of it — most active skills are learned by levelling rather than taught.

The 11 breeding-only skills are the interesting exception. These cannot be taught with a fruit at all; they arrive through breeding and nowhere else, which makes them the one part of a Pal's kit you cannot buy or farm directly.

The 30 boss skills are not on your Pals. They belong to the encounters — which is why a boss occasionally does something your identical Pal cannot.

And 39 are unrevealed, meaning they exist in the files without being surfaced in game. Treat any guide claiming a complete skill list with caution: the complete list is not public.

Every Skill Has Four Numbers

FieldRange
ElementOne of nine
Cooldown0 to 120 seconds
Power0 to 1,200
AggregateA status buildup value

Power is the number everyone quotes, and on its own it is misleading. A skill's real output is Power against cooldown, and the spread on cooldowns is enormous — from zero up to two full minutes.

Power 0 skills exist, and they are not broken. Poison Fog is Power 0 on a 30-second cooldown, with an Aggregate of Poison 9999. It deals no damage at all; it applies a status. A skill with zero Power can be one of the strongest things in your Pal's kit — you simply cannot see that from a damage ranking.

The fourth field, Aggregate, is the one almost no guide mentions, and it is covered in full in our status buildup guide. In short: it is how fast the skill applies its status, and it does not track Power.

Read all four before you spend a skill fruit. A high-Power skill on a long cooldown, taught to a Pal that dies in fifteen seconds, is worse than a modest skill that fires constantly.

Reading the Trade

Card explaining how to read power against cooldown in Palworld.

The pattern in the data is consistent: low Power comes with short cooldowns. Poison Blast is Power 30 on a 2-second cooldown. Dark Shot is Power 40 on 2 seconds. Umbral Surge is Power 60 on 4 seconds. The early rungs of every element are spam skills.

The top of the range is a different weapon class. With Power reaching 1,200 at the far end, the strongest skills are single heavy hits rather than sustained output — and their cooldowns reflect it.

So the practical question is what the Pal is for. A base defender that fights continuously wants short cooldowns. A party Pal you deploy for a burst wants the biggest number available. Those are different skills, and the same Pal can be built either way.

Utility skills trade all of their Power for a status, which is a legitimate build rather than a wasted slot. A Pal running one Power-0 status skill and one high-Power finisher covers both halves of a fight.

And remember what you cannot change. Boss skills are not obtainable, breeding-only skills are not teachable, and the 39 unrevealed skills are not there yet. Everything you can actually influence sits inside the 315.

Practical tips

  • 315 active skills, plus 11 breeding-only, 30 boss and 39 unrevealed395 total.
  • The 93 skill fruits cover less than a third of the teachable list.
  • Breeding-only skills cannot be taught with a fruit — breeding is the only route.
  • Every skill has four numbers: element, cooldown, Power, Aggregate.
  • Cooldowns run 0 to 120 seconds; Power runs 0 to 1,200.
  • Power 0 skills are utility, not broken — Poison Fog is Power 0, Aggregate 9999.
  • Low Power means short cooldown. Read the pair, never Power alone.
  • Base defenders want short cooldowns; burst Pals want big numbers.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Skill planning is a long game — breeding for a skill, hoarding fruits, and testing loadouts across sessions. A gamever Palworld server keeps your roster and storage persistent with full crossplay, automatic updates and one-click backups, so a breeding project spans weeks rather than one evening.

Conclusion

Palworld's active skills are four separate lists, not one: 315 ordinary skills, 11 breeding-only, 30 boss and 39 unrevealed395 in the files, of which only the 315 are yours to work with. The 93 skill fruits cover less than a third of that, so most skills come from levelling, and the breeding-only eleven cannot be taught at all. Each skill carries four numbers — element, cooldown (0 to 120 seconds), Power (0 to 1,200) and Aggregate — and quoting Power alone is the standard mistake. Low-Power skills sit on short cooldowns (Poison Blast is 30 Power on 2 seconds), the top of the range is single heavy hits, and Power 0 skills like Poison Fog are pure status application with an Aggregate of 9999. Build base defenders around short cooldowns and party Pals around big numbers — and read all four fields before spending a fruit.
