How to defeat Lord Styx in V Rising Oakveil Update
You arrive at Dracula’s crimson fortress and the air trembles with the flapping wings of a legendary vampire warrior. Lord Styx the Night Champion patrols a giant blood crystal at Dracula’s Demise, and beating him not only grants Bat Form and essential crafting recipes but also opens the path to the final encounter with the Immortal King.

Location
Dracula’s Demise lies just south of Gloomrot, a fortress carved into obsidian spires dripping with ectoplasmic blood. As twilight falls you’ll spot Styx circling a massive crimson obelisk that pulses with dark power. There’s no stealth approach here - he sees you from above, swoops down in deadly precision, and the fight begins the moment you step onto the cracked stone floor.

Equipment and spells
Facing Lord Styx demands gear that can both survive rapid slashes and punish him between openings. Match his level or wear a full set of upgraded Dread Plate armor for maximum health and damage reduction. Wield a Sanguine weapon for built-in life leech and equip the Blade Master amulet to boost critical chance.

Slot Ward of the Damned in one ability bar and Blood Fountain in the other to counter his fastest strikes and heal through his bat swarms. Anchor your toolkit with Veil of Blood for quick repositioning and Raging Tempest as your ultimate, giving you a window to smash gargoyle adds or punish Styx mid-spin.
Attack patterns
Lord Styx strikes with blinding speed. His Double Kill is two swift claw slashes followed by a lunge - block or counter the slashes then sidestep the thrust. Death Spin curls him into a red whirlwind spitting blades in all directions - keep your distance and dodge laterally.

At 80 percent health he teleports behind you then charges, so watch his shadow to predict the blink. Bat Swarm sends three energy orbs converging from odd angles - back away or sidestep each wave.

At half health he summons two gargoyle allies and the battlefield shrieks as they harry you. His ultimate power darkens the sky and rains down ten bat swarms in succession - brace with wards and heal through the onslaught.

Fight strategy
Focus first on survival: when he begins his double slashes, block or counter then step aside to break his combo. Dodge his spin by backing out of melee range and punish his recovery. Keep Blood Fountain ready to heal through his bat orbs, and use Raging Tempest to clear gargoyles the moment they appear.

When Styx teleports for his lunge, sidestep sideways - he cannot adjust mid-dash. During his ultimate, don’t chase damage; anchor behind Ward of the Damned and channel healing until the dark veil lifts.
Tactical tips
Don’t chase Styx around the crystal - hold your ground near the obelisk’s shadow to limit teleport angles. Time your counter on his opening slash of Double Kill to stagger him briefly, then unload a heavy combo. When gargoyles spawn, silence your urge to hit Styx and clear them instantly with Raging Tempest so you’re not overwhelmed. If you run low on health mid-clash, carve out a moment to channel Blood Fountain behind the crystal’s cover.
With precise blocking, well-timed dodges, and a balance of healing and punishment, Lord Styx the Night Champion falls and grants you the gift of Bat Form, Onyx Tear, and the Blood Key. Now, with the Night Champion vanquished, you stand one step closer to facing Dracula himself.
