Random Incidents in Palworld: Eighteen Spawners and What Each One Rolls

A confrontation in the Palworld wilderness.

The named events that appear on your Palworld map — an Aerial Marauder, a Wandering Merchant, a Proud Courier — are not scattered at random across the world. They come from eighteen incident spawners, one per region or sub-area, each with its own table and its own chance of firing at all. Once you know which region rolls which table, hunting a specific incident stops being luck.

How the Roll Works

Spawners18, one per region or sub-area
Regional spawner rate40
Global spawner rate100
Within a spawnerEach listed incident is Rate: 100

There are two rolls, and they do different jobs. The spawner's rate decides whether anything happens in that region at all — 40 for the regional tables. The entries inside a spawner are all Rate: 100, meaning the table is a straight selection rather than a second lottery.

One spawner sits outside the region system entirely. The global IncidentSpawner fires at Rate: 100 and contains exactly one incident: Aerial Marauder, a flight of ten Vanwyrm between Lv.35 and Lv.40. That is the incident you can meet anywhere.

Spawner size varies a lot. The Forest tables carry 18 incidents each, the Snow and Volcano tables 15, the Desert 14, and the Dark Island sub-areas 8 to 11. A bigger table means a specific incident is rarer within it, so the same event is easier to find in a small-table region.

One sub-area has an empty table. IncidentSpawner_SkyIsland_A lists 0 incidents — the Sky Island runs no random events at all.

The Named Swarms

The most distinctive incident type is the named swarm: a single higher-level leader plus nine more of the same species a few levels below it.

Jet-Black Little HeroSmokieLv.54 – 59
Guardian Beast of TwilightGildaneLv.54 – 59
Soul of the Dark RabbitNitemaryLv.54 – 59

The structure is always the same: one leader at the top of the range and nine more spread across the four levels below. That makes swarms the best capture opportunity in the game for their species — ten of one Pal in one place, which is a meaningful chunk of the 48 duplicates a Pal Essence Condenser project needs.

The level-54-to-59 group is all Dark Island, which is why those six only appear once you are working the endgame regions. The lower-level swarms — Muffly, Galeclaw, Tocotoco, Rayhound — are Forest and Desert events, and are catchable long before that.

Boom or Bust is the one to be careful with. Ten Tocotoco is ten explosions; the swarm is a genuine hazard rather than a free farm.

The Human Encounters

The rest of the tables are people, and they split into three kinds:

    Merchants — worth stopping for:

  • Wandering Merchant Lv.20, escorted by two Guards Lv.20
  • Pal Merchant Lv.10, with three Syndicate Thugs Lv.3
  • Shady Pal Merchant Lv.32, escorted by two Nox

Pal Tamers — a free rare Pal, if you can take it:

  • Master Pal Tamer Lv.48–50, with Felbat, Relaxaurus Lux or Lyleen Noct
  • Vigorous Pal Tamer Lv.40–44, with Kitsun, Ragnahawk or Elphidran Aqua
  • Cruel Pal Tamer Lv.26–27, with Helzephyr, Maraith or Hangyu Cryst

Faction patrols — a fight, and wanted-level risk:

  • Syndicate Thugs and Gunners, Lv.3 to Lv.40
  • PIDF Guards and Burly PIDF Officers, Lv.30 to Lv.40
  • Free Pal Alliance Believers, Lv.10
  • Feybreak Warriors, Lv.54, appearing alongside a named Pal on Dark Island

The Pal Tamer encounters are the ones to seek out. Each one is a single human escorting one high-level Pal — including species like Lyleen Noct and Relaxaurus Lux that are otherwise a hunt. Defeat the tamer and the Pal is catchable.

Two NPCs appear in almost every region's table: the Messenger of Love (levels 28 to 55, scaling with the region) and Dr. Brawn at Lv.50 — the latter at a flat level everywhere, which makes him a serious fight in an early region and a routine one late.

And several tables include a Lv.0 group — a mixed roster listed at level zero, such as Gobfin, Galeclaw, Flopie, Bristla, Cinnamoth, Robinquill, Beegarde, Mossanda, Gorirat in the Forest. These scale rather than spawning at level zero literally.

Practical tips

  • 18 spawners; regional tables fire at Rate: 40, the global one at 100.
  • The global table holds one incident — Aerial Marauder, ten Vanwyrm.
  • Sky Island has no incidents at all.
  • Named swarms are ten of one species — the best capture farm for that Pal.
  • The six Lv.54–59 swarms are Dark Island only.
  • Pal Tamers escort one high-level Pal — Lyleen Noct, Relaxaurus Lux, Ragnahawk.
  • Dr. Brawn is Lv.50 in every region, so he is a wall early and trivial late.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Incidents fire on the world's clock in whatever region someone happens to be standing in — which means a persistent world produces far more of them than a session that starts and stops. A gamever Palworld server keeps that world running with full crossplay, automatic updates and one-click backups, so a swarm somebody stumbles into is a swarm the whole group can reach.

Conclusion

Palworld's random incidents come from eighteen spawners, one per region or sub-area. The regional tables fire at Rate: 40 and the entries inside them are straight selections at Rate: 100, while a single global spawner at Rate: 100 carries one incident — the Aerial Marauder, ten Vanwyrm at Lv.35–40. Table sizes range from 18 in the Forest regions down to 8 on parts of Dark Island, and Sky Island has none at all. The most useful incident type is the named swarm — a leader plus nine of the same species, from Totally Toasty (Muffly, Lv.15–20) up to the six Dark Island events at Lv.54–59 — which makes them the densest capture opportunity in the game. The rest are people: three merchant encounters, three tiers of Pal Tamer each escorting one high-level Pal, and faction patrols from Syndicate Thugs to Feybreak Warriors. Dr. Brawn appears at Lv.50 in every region, so plan accordingly.
