Jump Boots, Air Dash & the Air Walker in Palworld: Twelve Ways to Move

A Palworld player riding a flying mount above the islands.

Palworld has twelve accessories that change how you move — a jump-power belt, four tiers of jump boots, four tiers of air dash boots, and the four-model Air Walker line. They all compete for the same accessory slots, of which you have two, or four once you spend 350 Dog Coin. The decision nobody explains is that the Air Walker does the job of two boots in a single slot — and that its middle two models are sidegrades of each other rather than an upgrade path.

Start with the Anti-Gravity Belt, and know what it is not. At Technology 28 it is the earliest mobility item, but it boosts jump power — how high one jump goes — not jump count. It does not stack conceptually with the boots; it is a different axis.

Note the tech ordering is not the rarity ordering. Air dash unlocks earlier and cheaper than jumping at every tier: Air Dash Boots at 35 against Double Jump Boots at 40, and Triple Air Dash Boots at 65 against Triple Jump Boots at 70 — despite the dash boots being the higher rarity. If you are progressing through technology levels, dashes arrive first.

One shared constraint runs through all twelve: Nightstar Sand. Every jump, dash and Air Walker recipe wants it, and it is "sand that can be found in the desert at night" — a night-only desert pickup. One well-timed trip supplies the whole family; skip it and none of this is craftable.

The Air Walker Does Two Jobs in One Slot

Card comparing the Air Walker EX against running two separate pairs of boots in Palworld.

Here is the comparison that decides the whole category:

LoadoutSlots usedJumpDash
Triple Jump Boots + Double Air Dash Boots2+2+2
Air Walker EX1+2+2

Identical output, half the slots. Since you only have two accessory slots by default — and four at most, after paying 350 Dog Coin — a slot is the scarcest thing in a Palworld loadout. The Air Walker EX hands one back.

What you give up is the ceiling. The boots go higher on a single axis than any Air Walker does:

  • Quadruple Jump Boots — Jump +3, against the Air Walker's maximum of +2
  • Quadruple Air Dash Boots — Dash +4, against the Air Walker's maximum of +2

So the real rule is: specialise with boots, generalise with the Air Walker. If you want maximum vertical reach for a specific climb — the Sky Islands, a tower approach — Quadruple Jump Boots in a dedicated slot beat anything else. For everyday traversal where you want both jumps and dashes and would rather spend your other slots on damage, the Air Walker EX is strictly the better use of space.

A practical middle path: run the Air Walker EX plus one specialist boot. That gets you Jump +2 / Dash +2 as a baseline, with a second slot pushing whichever axis your current content needs — still leaving two slots for an Emblem and a Baton or ring.

Mk II and Mk III Are Sidegrades

Card showing that Air Walker Mk II and Mk III trade a dash for a jump rather than upgrading.

The Air Walker line reads like a ladder — Mk I, Mk II, Mk III, EX. It is not one.

ModelJumpDashKey materials
Mk I+1+1Hexolite ×20, Dark Fragment ×15, Nightstar Sand ×30, Ancient Bark
Mk II+1+2Hexolite ×30, Dark Fragment ×25, Nightstar Sand ×40, Ancient Lava
Mk III+2+1Coralum Ingot ×20, Dark Fragment ×35, Nightstar Sand ×50, Ancient Bone
EX+2+2Coralum Ingot ×30, Dark Fragment ×45, Nightstar Sand ×60, Ancient Bone

Mk III is not an upgrade over Mk II. It is a trade. Mk II gives you Jump +1 and Dash +2; Mk III gives you Jump +2 and Dash +1. You gain a jump and lose a dash — while paying substantially more, since Mk III moves from Hexolite to Coralum Ingot and from Ancient Lava to Ancient Bone.

So do not build Mk III just because the number is higher. Ask which axis you actually use. Dashes cover horizontal distance and reposition you in a fight; jumps get you over terrain and up cliffs. If you mostly traverse, Mk II is the cheaper and better item and Mk III is a downgrade you paid for.

Only the EX has both lines at maximum, which is why it is the one worth the full material bill: Coralum Ingot ×30, Paldium Fragment ×60, Dark Fragment ×45, Nightstar Sand ×60 and Ancient Bone. Everything below it forces a choice.

Skip Mk I entirely if you can. Jump +1 / Dash +1 is exactly what a single pair of Double Jump Boots plus Air Dash Boots gives you, so its only advantage is the slot — and by the time you have Hexolite and Ancient Bark you are close to the tiers that matter.

The Five Accessories Nobody Names

While mapping this family, five more accessories turned up that almost no guide mentions:

AccessoryRarityEffectNotable materials
Islander's Tool BeltEpicMax Carrying Capacity Lv. 4 and Speedy Worker Lv. 4Leather ×40, Ancient Bark
Warsect Terra's BeltEpicDefense Up Lv. 4 and Health Up Lv. 4Refined Ingot ×40, Honey ×20, Ancient Lava
Phantom RingEpicExtended dodge invincibility on rolls and sidestepsPlasteel ×10, Pal Metal Ingot ×15, Ancient Bone
Ring of TrustEpicParty Pal Trust BoostBeautiful Flower ×10, Ancient Lava
Growth Acceleration BellRarePal EXP Up Lv. 3Ingot ×25, Mysterious Mushroom ×10
Pendant of DiligenceRareSpeedy Worker Lv. 3Ingot ×25, Leather ×20

The Islander's Tool Belt is the standout. Two separate Lv. 4 effects in one slot — carrying capacity and work speed — where most accessories give one. Given that you cannot dodge while overencumbered, carry weight is a combat stat in Palworld, and this belt is one of only a few items that raises it at Lv. 4.

The Phantom Ring is the one to know for boss fights. Extending dodge invincibility changes what you can survive rather than how much damage you absorb, which matters far more against the tower bosses and raid bosses whose attacks one-shot through armour.

The Growth Acceleration Bell and Pendant of Diligence are both Rare and both cost plain Ingot ×25 — cheap, early, and easy to miss. The Bell speeds up Pal levelling; the Pendant speeds up base work. Neither will headline a loadout, but at that price they are worth building the moment you see them.

And the Ring of Trust pairs with the Kinship Peach. Trust gain is otherwise slow, and the Arrogant Gourmet trades a Kinship Peach for a plate of Fried Gloopie Balls — ring on, peaches in hand, a Pal reaches maximum trust far faster than by playing normally.

Practical tips

  • Twelve mobility accessories, and every one needs Nightstar Sand — a night-only desert pickup.
  • Air Walker EX = Triple Jump Boots + Double Air Dash Boots in one slot.
  • Boots go higher on one axis — Quadruple Jump +3, Quadruple Air Dash +4.
  • Mk III is a sidegrade of Mk II, not an upgrade: it trades a dash for a jump and costs far more.
  • The Anti-Gravity Belt boosts jump power, not count — a different axis from the boots.
  • Islander's Tool Belt gives two Lv. 4 effects in one slot — carry capacity and work speed.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

Mobility gear is a materials problem: Nightstar Sand at night in the desert, Coralum Ingot from a smelting chain, Ancient Bone and Ancient Lava from bosses. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps the refining and base production running between sessions, so the ingots and fragments accumulate whether or not anyone is watching, and a night-time desert run happens when the group is free rather than when the host is. Full crossplay lets everyone contribute to the same stockpile, and one-click backups protect the result.

Conclusion

Palworld's twelve mobility accessories split into three groups: the Anti-Gravity Belt for jump power, four tiers of jump boots and four of air dash boots for count, and the four-model Air Walker line that does both jobs at once. The decision that matters is slot efficiency — the Air Walker EX delivers Jump +2 and Dash +2 in one slot, exactly matching Triple Jump Boots plus Double Air Dash Boots in two — set against ceiling, since Quadruple Jump Boots reach +3 and Quadruple Air Dash Boots +4, higher than any Air Walker. Specialise with boots, generalise with the Air Walker. And read the model numbers carefully: Mk III is not better than Mk II, it trades a dash for a jump at a much higher price, so only the EX has both lines maxed. Every item here needs Nightstar Sand, found in the desert at night — make that trip once and the whole family becomes craftable.
