How to Get Nitrogen Gas in Satisfactory Release 1.0
What Are Wellsprings?
Wellsprings include Nitrogen Gas, along with additional crude oil and water nodes. Each node can deliver a whopping 1,800 resources per minute when fully upgraded. That’s a big boost for your factory's output!

Wellsprings are varied; each has a different number of satellite nodes and resource quality—impure, normal, and pure. The amount of resources they provide can change based on these factors.
Getting Nitrogen Gas
To start working with Nitrogen Gas, you need to progress to Hub Tier VIII and unlock the Advanced Aluminum Production milestone. This will give you access to the wellspring pressurizers and extractors you need. Here’s how to set up:
- Unlocking Pressurizers: At Tier VIII, you’ll need 50 Radio Control Units, 100 Aluminum Casings, 200 Aluminum Sheets, and 3,000 Wire. It's a significant investment but worth it.

- Powering Pressurizers: To operate these pressurizers, you'll need 200 Wire, 50 Rubber, 50 Encased Industrial Beams, and 50 Motors. Also, be prepared for a hefty power requirement—150 megawatts, equivalent to running two full-capacity coal power plants.
Setting Up Extraction
Once you place a wellspring pressurizer on a node, it activates the satellite nodes around it. You’ll see resources starting to disperse from the cracks in the ground. To maximize your resource extraction:
- Extractors: These cost 10 Steel Beams and 10 Plastic each. Place an extractor on each individual satellite node to capture the full resource output. You can't just use one extractor for all the nodes.

Resource Rates: Overclocking the pressurizers boosts the resource output:
- Pure Nodes: Up to 300 resources per minute (from 120).
- Normal Nodes: Up to 150 resources per minute (from 60).
- Impure Nodes: Up to 75 resources per minute (from 30).

Transporting Nitrogen Gas
Nitrogen Gas moves similarly to liquids through pipes, but without the need for head lift. This makes transporting it simpler. You can also use trains for transportation. For the best efficiency, consider packaging Nitrogen Gas.

- Packaged Nitrogen Gas: Combine 4 Nitrogen Gas with 1 Empty Fluid Tank in a Packager to create this. It’s more practical for long-distance transport and conveyor belt use.

As the game evolves, we might see new recipes or buildings specifically for gases. For example, gas compressor stations or reinforced piping could be on the horizon, which would be pretty exciting.
With Nitrogen Gas now part of your resource toolkit, you can take your factory's production to new heights. Set up those pressurizers and extractors, transport your Nitrogen Gas efficiently, and keep an eye out for future updates that might enhance gas handling.
