How to defeat Gaius, the Cursed Champion in V Rising Oakveil Update

You dive into the fight immediately after touching the war banner, the arena walls closing in as the circle shrinks and a deadly miasma bites at your heels. He moves with gladiatorial grace, slashing and lunging, punishing mistakes with frost‑tinged steel. Keep your wits about you, bait his combos, and prepare to claim the spoils of victory.

 

 

 

Location

 

     You find Gaius in the northeast corner of Dunley Farmlands at the Colosseum landmark by interacting with the green war banner in the center of the arena; once summoned he stalks the circular battleground that slowly closes in on you, forcing you to stay mobile or suffer damage from the creeping miasma beyond the line.

 

 

 

Preparation

 

     Gear up with a mobility spell like Veil of Chaos or Merciless Charge and equip a weapon that balances burst damage and defense cooldowns since healing is halved inside the arena; bring ranged options or crowd‑control spells to interrupt his twinblade combos and a sturdy shield or counterspell to negate his jump‑slam attacks. Stock up on scrolls, potions, and cooldown spells

 

 

 

Fight mechanics

 

     Gaius opens with a twin slash that lashes out in a wide arc then follows up with two lightning‑fast thrown blades that track you in quick succession; he can leap overhead and crash down with a frost explosion, he dashes through the air to reposition, and his final heavy spin attack deals massive damage in a ring around him. Dodge sideways through his thrown blades, step back from the slam, and interrupt the spin by closing in with a dash‑in stun or shield block.

 

 

 

Legit strategy

 

     Stay inside the safe circle and bait his primary combo by sidestepping the first slash then counter‑attacking immediately as he winds up the throw; alternate between jabs and crowd control to keep him off balance. Use poke‑and‑dash tactics instead of full trades, weave in a merciless charge to break his guard, then retreat before he can finish the spin.

 

 

     Exploit the shrinking arena by using pushback skills to knock Gaius outside the boundary and let the zone’s damage finish him off; abilities like Blood Fountain, Reaper Q, Merciless Charge, and mace heavy attacks with knockback can force him into the miasma repeatedly until he falls without you landing a single blow.

     Defeating Gaius grants you a tier‑1 Unholy spell point, the Corrupted Skull spell, Bone Explosion, the Ward of the Damned counterspell, and unlocks the Arena Station for your castle along with decorative pieces and the Twinblade blueprint for crafting.
