Feasts in Valheim: Ten Servings, Fifty Minutes, One Per Biome

Feasts are Valheim's shared meal system, and almost nobody uses them — partly because they arrived with the Bog Witch, and partly because they work nothing like ordinary food. A feast is placed on the floor, holds ten servings, and lasts 3,000 seconds — fifty real minutes. There is one per biome, from a 35-health Meadows boar roast up to a 75-health Ashlands bowl that also grants Eitr.

All Eight Feasts

| Feast | Health | Stamina | Eitr | Healing | Biome |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Whole roasted Meadow boar | 35 | 35 | — | 2 | Meadows |
| Black Forest buffet platter | 35 | 35 | — | 3 | Black Forest |
| Swamp dweller's delight | 35 | 35 | — | 3 | Swamp |
| Sailor's bounty | 45 | 45 | — | 3 | Ocean |
| Hearty Mountain logger's stew | 45 | 45 | — | 3 | Mountain |
| Plains pie picnic | 55 | 55 | — | 4 | Plains |
| Mushrooms galore á la Mistlands | 65 | 65 | 33 | 5 | Mistlands |
| Ashlands gourmet bowl | 75 | 75 | 38 | 6 | Ashlands |
The curve is flat and then steep. The first three feasts are identical at 35/35, the middle pair at 45/45, and then the Plains, Mistlands and Ashlands entries climb sharply to 55, 65 and 75.
Only the last two grant Eitr — 33 on the Mistlands feast and 38 on the Ashlands one — which makes them the only feasts a mage build has a reason to eat.
The healing column climbs steadily from 2 to 6 hp per tick, which is a separate axis from the health pool. As covered in our food guide, healing rate is what keeps you alive during a fight rather than what determines how much damage you can absorb.
Every feast runs 3,000 seconds — the duration does not scale with tier. A Meadows boar roast lasts exactly as long as an Ashlands bowl.
How Feasts Actually Work

The process has three steps, and skipping any of them leaves you confused:
- Craft the feast at the Food preparation table. Every recipe requires a spice bought from The Bog Witch — there is no way to make one without visiting her.
- Place it using the Serving tray. A feast in your inventory does nothing. You select it from the Serving tray's build menu and place it on the floor or on a table.
- Eat from it. The placed feast holds 10 servings, shared among everyone present.
When all ten servings are gone, the empty platter has to be removed with the Serving tray's "Remove" function. It does not vanish on its own.
And here is the cost of getting it wrong: "If a feast has already been partially eaten, it yields nothing when destroyed or dismantled." A half-eaten feast cannot be picked back up. Place it where the group is actually going to be, not where it looks good.
Ten servings for one crafting cost is the entire point. A feast fed to five players is five people's food slot filled from one recipe — which is why feasts are a group mechanic rather than a solo one. Alone, you are eating ten servings of one thing over fifty minutes.
What Each One Takes

Every feast is three cooked dishes plus one spice:
| Feast | Ingredients | Spice |
|---|---|---|
| Whole roasted Meadow boar | Cooked deer meat ×2, Cooked boar meat ×5, Dandelion ×4 | Woodland herb blend |
| Black Forest buffet platter | Deer stew ×3, Thistle ×5, Queen's jam ×4 | Woodland herb blend |
| Swamp dweller's delight | Sausages ×8, Bloodbag ×4, Turnip stew ×2 | Woodland herb blend |
| Sailor's bounty | Cooked fish ×5, Thistle ×4, Cooked serpent meat ×2 | Seafarer's herbs |
| Hearty Mountain logger's stew | Wolf skewer ×2, Onion soup ×3, Carrot ×4 | Mountain peak pepper powder |
| Plains pie picnic | Bread ×3, Lox meat pie ×2, Cloudberries ×5 | Grasslands herbalist harvest |
| Mushrooms galore á la Mistlands | Misthare supreme ×1, Cooked seeker meat ×3, Yggdrasil porridge ×1 | Herbs of the hidden hills |
| Ashlands gourmet bowl | Cooked asksvin tail ×3, Vineberry cluster ×5, Scorching medley ×2 | Fiery spice powder |
The Woodland herb blend covers three feasts — Meadows, Black Forest and Swamp — so one spice purchase unlocks the entire early tier. Everything above that needs its own spice.
The ingredients are cooked dishes, not raw materials. Sausages ×8, Deer stew ×3, Onion soup ×3, Lox meat pie ×2 — a feast is assembled from finished food, which means it sits on top of your whole cooking chain rather than beside it. A feast is expensive in a way the ingredient list understates.
Sailor's bounty is the odd one out — it is the only feast tied to the Ocean rather than a land biome, and it needs Cooked serpent meat, which means killing a Serpent first.
Practical tips
- Eight feasts, one per biome, all lasting 3,000 seconds (fifty minutes).
- Ten servings each, shared — feasts are a group mechanic.
- Crafted at the Food preparation table, and every one needs a Bog Witch spice.
- Placed with the Serving tray, on a floor or table. In your inventory it does nothing.
- A partly eaten feast yields nothing if removed — place it carefully.
- The Woodland herb blend covers three feasts — the whole early tier.
- Only the Mistlands and Ashlands feasts grant Eitr (33 and 38).
Running your own Valheim server
Feasts feed ten servings to whoever is standing there, which makes them worthless to a player alone and excellent for a group that actually meets. A gamever Valheim server keeps a persistent hall for up to 10 players with one-click backups, so a fifty-minute feast is something a group gathers around rather than something one person eats alone.
Conclusion
Valheim's eight feasts run one per biome, from the Whole roasted Meadow boar (35/35) through Sailor's bounty and the Mountain logger's stew (45/45), the Plains pie picnic (55/55), and up to Mushrooms galore á la Mistlands (65/65, 33 Eitr) and the Ashlands gourmet bowl (75/75, 38 Eitr) — the only two that feed a mage. Each is crafted at the Food preparation table from three cooked dishes plus a spice bought from The Bog Witch, then placed with the Serving tray, where it holds ten servings for 3,000 seconds. The Woodland herb blend unlocks the first three on its own. Two rules are worth remembering before you place one: a feast in your inventory does nothing, and a partly eaten feast yields nothing if you remove it.
