Every Dagger in Dragonwilds: Nine of Them, and the Fastest Class in the Game

A close-quarters fight in Dragonwilds.

Daggers are Dragonwilds' fast, light melee class — and according to the wiki's own class descriptions, they lead the game on damage output despite having the smallest numbers on paper. Nine of them run from a 7–18 stone blade to a 59–152 adamant one, every single one has a seven-hit attack combo, and every one can block.

The Dagger Ladder

Card ranking Dragonwilds' daggers by base damage.

DaggerDamagePowerBlock
Adamant Dagger59 – 152730
Keris59 – 152730
Mithril Dagger48 – 123630
Steel Dagger38 – 98526
Wolfbane Dagger38 – 98526
Iron Dagger29 – 74423
Dragonbone Dagger29 – 74423
Bronze Dagger20 – 51319.5
Bone Dagger14 – 35216.5
Stone Dagger7 – 18113

Every dagger has an attack combo of 7, across the entire ladder. That is unusual — the combo length does not improve with tier, which means the class plays identically from the Stone Dagger to the Keris. Only the numbers change.

Three pairs share identical stats. Adamant Dagger and Keris (59–152), Steel and Wolfbane (38–98), Iron and Dragonbone (29–74). In each pair the second is a special unlock rather than a straight craft — Keris and Wolfbane and Dragonbone are recipe finds, not tier progression.

And daggers block. Block value climbs from 13 to 30, which is a real defensive contribution for a class most players assume has none.

What the Class Actually Is

Card explaining the Dragonwilds dagger class profile.

The wiki describes daggers as "fast, light melee weapons that often feature unique special attacks or traits." That "often" is doing work — three of the nine are special unlocks with their own recipes.

The genuinely surprising line is on the Swords page, which describes swords as "the second fastest hits per second, and the second most damage behind daggers."

Read that carefully. It puts daggers first on damage. Not first on damage per swing — the Adamant Greataxe's 168–294 is nearly triple the Adamant Dagger's 59–152 — but first overall, which can only mean sustained output.

The seven-hit combo is presumably why. A class that lands seven hits per combo at the fastest attack speed in the game is applying its smaller number far more often than a greataxe applies its larger one.

Which makes daggers the wrong weapon for exactly one situation: heavily armoured targets. A small number applied many times is punished more by damage reduction than a large number applied rarely.

Where Each One Is Made

Card showing where Dragonwilds daggers are crafted.

The first two come off the crafting table:

DaggerMaterials
Stone Dagger8 Stone, 4 Ash Logs
Bone Dagger4 Small Animal Fangs, 4 Animal Bones, 2 Coarse Thread

Everything from Bronze upward is made at the Blacksmith's Bench:

DaggerMaterials
Bronze6 Bronze Bars, 3 Small Animal Fangs, 1 Coarse Thread
Iron6 Iron Bars, 3 Ram Horns, 1 Wool Thread, 4 Vault Shards
Steel8 Steel Bars, 4 Undead Bones, 3 Fine Threads, 6 Vault Shards
Mithril8 Mithril Bars, 3 Cursed Leather, 3 Mystic Thread, 18 Infernal Fragments

Vault Shards enter the recipe at Iron and never leave. From power level 4 upward every dagger wants them, which ties the whole upper ladder to dragonkin vault content rather than to mining alone.

The three special daggers each have a named source:

  • Dragonbone Dagger — recipe from Chaktan Kara. Uses Ram Horns and Antlers instead of metal bars entirely.
  • Wolfbane Dagger — recipe from a dragonkin effigy in Vekchenven Kara. Needs 3 Silver Bars.
  • Keris — the power level 7 unique, matching the Adamant Dagger exactly.

The Dragonbone Dagger is the interesting one. At power level 4 it matches the Iron Dagger's 29–74 but is made from Ram Horns, Antlers and Hard Leather — no bars at all. If your smelting chain is behind your exploration, it is a way to skip a tier.

Practical tips

  • Nine daggers, from Stone (7–18) to Adamant and Keris (59–152).
  • Every one has a 7-hit attack combo — the class plays the same at every tier.
  • Daggers block, from 13 up to 30.
  • The wiki puts daggers first on damage overall, ahead of swords.
  • Three pairs share identical stats — the second of each is a special unlock.
  • Vault Shards are required from Iron upward.
  • The Dragonbone Dagger uses no metal bars — Ram Horns and Antlers instead.
  • Avoid daggers against heavily armoured targets — many small hits suffer most.

Running your own Dragonwilds server

Vault Shards, dragonkin effigies and named recipes are exploration rewards, which means a dagger build is built out of a world you have mapped. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps that world persistent with automatic updates and one-click backups, so the vaults you cleared stay cleared.

Conclusion

Dragonwilds has nine daggers, running Stone (7–18), Bone (14–35), Bronze (20–51), Iron and Dragonbone (29–74), Steel and Wolfbane (38–98), Mithril (48–123) and Adamant and Keris (59–152) — with block values from 13 to 30 and, unusually, the same seven-hit attack combo at every tier. The wiki describes them as "fast, light melee weapons" and, on the Swords page, puts swords second on damage "behind daggers" — which places the smallest weapon class first on sustained output despite the greataxe hitting nearly three times as hard per swing. The first two are made at the crafting table; everything from Bronze up needs the Blacksmith's Bench, and Vault Shards from Iron onward. Three are special unlocks — Dragonbone from Chaktan Kara (made from Ram Horns and Antlers, no bars), Wolfbane from a Vekchenven Kara effigy, and Keris at the top.
