Dragonwilds Achievements: 48 Tasks, 12 of Them a Million XP Each

Twelve of Dragonwilds' achievements require level 99 in a skill — which is 1,000,000 experience each, or twelve million for the set. The other thirty-six range from "mine an ore" to "get a confused enemy to kill another enemy", and several are genuinely obscure. There is also a catch that catches long-time players specifically: achievements do not apply retroactively to characters created before they were added. Here is the whole list, how it is structured, and what to do about the retroactivity problem.
On sourcing. The list below comes from the community RuneScape: Dragonwilds wiki, and can change with any patch. Jagex publish global completion rates every 12 hours from 00:00 UTC.
How the List Is Built
Dragonwilds calls these "Tasks" in-game. 48 are currently listed as achievable on the achievement log.
The structure is clean once you see it:
| Group | Count | Pattern |
|---|---|---|
| Novice | 13 | One trivially easy task per skill — mine an ore, catch a fish, plant a seed |
| Veteran | 13 | One clever task per skill — usually a specific spell used well |
| Mastery | 12 | Reach level 99 in each skill |
| Region | 5 | Complete 3 secondary quests in a region |
| Boss | 4 | Defeat each region's boss |
| Hidden | 1 | All Buffed Up — food, infusion and potion buffs active at once |
The Novice tier is one evening's play. Mine an ore (Swift Pick), chop a tree (Chop Chop), cook something (One Misthalin Star), craft a weapon (Stab, Slash, Crush!), craft a rune, build a base and claim a bed (Sheltered), parry an attack (Not today!), hit something with fire magic, land a trick shot, plant a seed, catch a fish, eat a fish dish, and earn your first Agility gold medal.
The Veteran tier is where the design shows. Almost every one requires you to use a specific spell at its best, not merely to cast it:
| Achievement | What it wants |
|---|---|
| It's all Mine! | Break 4 ore deposits with one Rocksplosion |
| You Axed for It | Cut down 3 trees with one Axtral Projection |
| Mend it like... | Repair 3 items with one Magical Mending |
| Gotta Patch 'Em All | Harvest 24 plots with a single Uproot |
| Frenzied | Cast Fishnado on a frenzied fishing spot |
| I'll Just Watch | Have a confused enemy defeat another enemy |
| Master Huntsman | Hit an enemy trapped in a snare with an enhanced arrow |
| Sharp and Shiny | Have your weapon enchanted with magic and honed with a whetstone at once |
| All Buffed Up | Have a food, an infusion and a potion buff active simultaneously |
| Eye can see my house from here! | Build while using Eye of Oculus |
Read that as a tutorial Jagex never wrote. Each one teaches an efficiency most players never discover — that Rocksplosion hits multiple deposits, that Uproot can clear a whole farm, that food, infusion and potion buffs stack.
The Retroactivity Problem

This is the single most important thing on the page, and it is buried in patch notes.
Achievements do not apply retroactively to characters created before the update that added them. Jagex confirmed it in the Umbral Sands notes.
What that means in practice:
- You can earn achievements on both old and new characters — nobody is locked out.
- But an old character must go back and redo things it has already done. A character that killed Velgar before achievements existed does not have Dragon Slayer; it has to kill Velgar again.
- Some achievements arrive as shadow updates before major patches, which means a player at 100% completion can drop below it without playing.
So achievement hunting on a long-lived character carries a re-run tax. If you are chasing the full set, expect to repeat boss fights and quest chains you finished months ago.
The counts have moved too. The wiki records the intended total dropping from 53 to 50 and then to 45 across shadow updates around the Umbral Sands release, against 48 currently listed as achievable — so treat any specific total you read elsewhere with suspicion, including this one, and check the in-game log.
The Expensive Twelve

Every skill has a Mastery achievement at level 99, and Jagex gave them all a pun:
| Skill | Achievement |
|---|---|
| Attack | Melee Master |
| Magic | Dionysius' Disciple |
| Ranged | Thrill of the Hunt |
| Mining | Everything is Oresome |
| Woodcutting | Everything is Treemendous |
| Artisan | The School of Jewels |
| Construction | Absolute Planker |
| Cooking | Three Misthalin Stars |
| Runecrafting | Altar Native |
| Farming | Granny's Favourite Farmer |
| Fishing | Maximum Effishiency |
| Agility | Amazingly Acrobatic |
Twelve skills at 1,000,000 experience each is twelve million experience — and the curve is at its cruellest exactly there, since level 93 costs 342,568 and the last six levels cost 657,432 on their own.
Two of the twelve pay for themselves regardless. The Artisan cape at 99 makes repairing gear cost no resources, and the Cooking cape means you cannot burn food. If you are going to complete Mastery achievements in any order, those two come with a permanent benefit attached.
And one is nearly free. Agility levels passively while you run, so Amazingly Acrobatic accrues in the background of every other achievement on the list.
Regions, Bosses, and Doing This on a Server

The remaining nine are quest and boss achievements:
| Achievement | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Helping around the farm | 3 secondary quests in Brynmoor |
| Bark at the Moon | 3 secondary quests in Ghornfell |
| Don't fear the Reaper | 3 secondary quests in Fellhollow |
| Mages & Knights & Demons, oh my! | 3 secondary quests in Dowdun Reach |
| Icthlarin's Bigger Helper | 3 secondary quests in Umbral Sands |
| Dragon Slayer | Defeat Velgar |
| Withering Heights | Defeat Imaru |
| Black Knight's Fortress | Defeat the Black Knight Titan |
| Scorching Sands | Defeat the Umbral Sands boss |
The pattern is one quest achievement and one boss per region — a clean five-and-four across Ashenfall's regions.
On a shared server, the crucial distinction is that achievements are per-player while boss defeats are world state. A group that kills Velgar together all earn Dragon Slayer; a player who joins afterwards does not, and the boss is already down.
Three habits follow:
- Kill bosses with the whole group present, not with whoever happens to be online.
- Check whether your bosses can be re-summoned. The Black Knight Titan can: stay in the arena for exactly 55 seconds after the kill and a Titan Seal appears in the centre of the room, letting you challenge them again.
- Do secondary quests as a group too, since three per region is a low bar that a coordinated evening clears in one go.
Practical tips
- 48 achievements are currently achievable, in Novice, Veteran, Mastery, region and boss groups.
- Achievements are NOT retroactive — old characters must redo what they already did.
- Shadow updates add achievements, so 100% completion is not permanent.
- The Veteran tier teaches efficiencies: Rocksplosion on 4 deposits, Uproot on 24 plots.
- Twelve Mastery achievements cost 1,000,000 XP each.
- Artisan and Cooking Mastery come with genuinely useful capes.
- Agility Mastery accrues passively while you do everything else.
- Kill bosses with the whole group present — achievements are per-player, boss state is not.
- The Black Knight Titan re-summons via a Titan Seal after 55 seconds in the arena.
Running your own RuneScape: Dragonwilds server
Achievement hunting means bringing the same group back to the same world repeatedly — for boss kills everyone needs to be present for, and for quest chains nobody wants to run twice. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps Ashenfall available around the clock for up to six players, updates automatically so client and server versions never drift, and takes one-click backups before disruptive changes.
Conclusion
Dragonwilds lists 48 achievable achievements, arranged as a Novice tier of one trivial task per skill, a Veteran tier that quietly teaches the game's best efficiencies — four ore deposits from one Rocksplosion, 24 farm plots from a single Uproot, a confused enemy killing another enemy — a Mastery tier of twelve level-99 grinds at 1,000,000 experience apiece, and nine region and boss achievements covering three secondary quests in each of Ashenfall's five regions plus Velgar, Imaru, the Black Knight Titan and the Umbral Sands boss. The trap to know about is retroactivity: achievements do not apply to characters created before they were added, so a veteran character has to repeat kills and quests it finished long ago, and shadow-added achievements can knock a 100% player off the mark without them playing at all. On a shared world, the practical rule is that achievements are per-player while boss defeats are world state — so bring everybody to the fight.
