Where Every Alpha Pal Comes From in Palworld: 261 Sources, and Two of Them Are ???

An Alpha Pal encounter in Palworld.

Palworld's Alpha Pal Source list holds 261 entries mapping every named Alpha to where it can be found — and the structure is more useful than "go to the marker on the map". Most Alphas have multiple sources at multiple level bands, several are available from Wild Eggs at level 1, and two entries have no published location at all.

How the List Is Structured

Card explaining the structure of Palworld's Alpha Pal Source list.

Take Big Floof Lamball — the Alpha Lamball — as the reference entry:

SourceLevel
Wild EggLv.1
Hillside CavernLv.10–13
Isolated Island CavernLv.10–13
Isolated Island CavernLv.10–13
Isolated Island CavernLv.10–13

Five sources for one Alpha, and the same shape repeats for The Cat's Pajamas Cattiva, Plump & Juicy Chikipi and Coward of the Steppe Lifmunk.

Two things fall out of that immediately.

Wild Eggs give Alphas at level 1. You do not have to find and fight a named Alpha in the world to own one — hatching the right egg produces the Alpha form at the bottom of the level range. That is a completely different acquisition route from the one most guides describe.

Isolated Island Cavern appears three times in a single Alpha's list, which matches the dungeon roster: Isolated Island Cavern appears three times at level 10 in Palworld's fourteen dungeon entries, and Hillside Cavern shares its level-10 bracket and its Grass01 loot table.

So the level-10 Alphas are concentrated in exactly the dungeons a new player already runs.

Every Alpha Drops the Same Two Things

The companion Alpha Pal list — 338 entries — shows what they pay:

AlphaDrops
Big Floof LamballAncient Civilization Parts ×1–2 at 100%, Precious Pelt ×1–2 at 100%
The Cat's Pajamas CattivaAncient Civilization Parts ×1–2, Precious Claw ×1–2
Plump & Juicy ChikipiAncient Civilization Parts ×1–2, Precious Plume ×1–2
Coward of the Steppe LifmunkAncient Civilization Parts ×1–2, Precious Pelt ×1–2
Runaway Wave Rider Fuack IgnisAncient Civilization Parts ×2–3, Precious Pelt ×2–3

Every Alpha drops Ancient Civilization Parts at 100%, plus one Precious material — Pelt, Claw or Plume depending on the species — also at 100%.

That makes Alphas the most reliable Ancient Civilization Parts source in the game. No roll, no rarity, one to two per kill from any Alpha at any level.

The elemental variants pay more. Fuack Ignis gives ×2–3 of both against ordinary Fuack's ×1–2 — so the variant forms are worth seeking out specifically if Parts are your bottleneck.

The Two ??? Entries

Card noting the two unlocated entries at the top of the Alpha Pal Source list.

The list opens with two entries whose source is simply ???:

AlphaSourceLevel
Eye of Cthulhu???Lv.45
Demon Eye???Lv.33–35

Both are Terraria collaboration content, and both carry the same ??? placeholder the loot database uses for the two Yakushima tables.

Their levels are published even though their locations are not — Eye of Cthulhu at 45 and Demon Eye at a 33–35 band — so the database knows what they are without saying where they appear.

Treat the location as unknown rather than guessing. These are event or collaboration spawns, and the honest position is that the source list does not say.

Using the List

Card advising how to use Palworld's Alpha Pal Source data.

  • Check for a Wild Egg source first. Several Alphas hatch at level 1, which is faster and safer than finding the world spawn.
  • Run the level-10 caverns for the early Alphas. Hillside Cavern and the three Isolated Island Caverns cover the starting roster.
  • Farm any Alpha for Ancient Civilization Parts. 1–2 at 100% from every one, with no rarity roll.
  • Prefer elemental variants when Parts are tight. Fuack Ignis pays ×2–3 where the base form pays ×1–2.
  • Remember the capture penalty. An Alpha's capture rate carries a 30% reduction — a Lamball's 1.5 becomes 1.05 — so bring a sphere tier above what the level suggests.
  • Do not plan around the ??? entries. Their locations are not published.

Conclusion

Palworld's Alpha Pal Source list maps 261 entries to their spawn points, and most Alphas have several sources across several level bands rather than one marker. The most useful structural fact is that many Alphas are obtainable from Wild Eggs at level 1 — hatching produces the Alpha form without any world encounter at all. Beyond that, the early roster clusters in the dungeons new players already run: Hillside Cavern and the three Isolated Island Caverns, all at level 10–13 and all sharing the Grass01 loot table. The companion 338-entry Alpha Pal list shows they all pay the same shape — Ancient Civilization Parts at 100% plus one Precious material (Pelt, Claw or Plume) at 100% — which makes any Alpha the most reliable Parts source in the game, with elemental variants like Fuack Ignis paying ×2–3 against a base form's ×1–2. Two entries, Eye of Cthulhu at Lv.45 and Demon Eye at Lv.33–35, carry ??? as their source — the same placeholder the loot database uses elsewhere — so their locations are genuinely unpublished rather than merely obscure.
