What Palworld 1.0's Endgame Actually Costs (Gold, Tech & Materials)

Most Palworld guides tell you what the best gear is. Very few tell you what it costs — and in 1.0 the answer is sometimes ten million Gold Coins. This guide lays out the real price of the ancient tier: gold, technology levels and the materials that actually gate each craft, so you can plan a route to the endgame instead of discovering halfway through that you are three million short.

The Gold Coin Prices

These are the documented Gold Coin costs of 1.0's endgame crafts:

Item Gold Coin cost Tech Level
Ancient Shield 10,000,000 71
Beam Scatter 3,500,000 75
Tactical Grenade Launcher 2,295,540 72
Prototype Shotgun 2,150,100 69
Ancient Helm 500,000 68
Heat-Resistant Ancient Armor 500,000 75
Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor 500,000 77
Lightweight Ancient Armor 500,000 79
Giga Glider 50,000 40
Homeward Thundercloud 10,000 22

The Ancient Shield at 10 million is in a category of its own — roughly three times the next most expensive item in the game, and twenty times a full set of ancient armor. It is worth understanding what that buys you: 2,200 shield HP with 22,000 durability, self-repairing after a period without damage.

Whether that is worth ten million depends entirely on whether you already own the Advanced Shield, which unlocks at Technology Level 60 and provides 1,800 self-repairing shield HP. That is 82% of the Ancient Shield's protection, eleven technology levels earlier, without the eight-figure price tag.

Where the Real Bottleneck Is

Gold is the visible cost. The materials are the real one, because you cannot buy them:

Item The gating requirement
Beam Launcher (Tech 80) Paloxite Ingot x100, Bio Battery x50, AI Core x10Ancient Civilization Core x10
Plasma Rifle (Tech 78) Paloxite Ingot x80, Bio Battery x50, AI Core x8, Ancient Civilization Core x7
Drone Launcher (Tech 77) Paloxite Ingot x70, World Tree Holy Water x40, AI Core x8, Ancient Civilization Core x5
Beam Scatter (Tech 75) Paloxite x50, Soralite x50, AI Core x5, Ancient Civilization Core x5, plus 3.5M gold
Mechanical Bow (Tech 67) Soralite Ingot x40, Carbon Fiber x20, Paldium Fragment x200, AI Core x3

Notice what appears in nearly every line: Ancient Civilization Core. Among the new 1.0 Pals, only Silvance and Dandilord are documented to drop it. Those two Pals are the genuine bottleneck on the entire top weapon tier — not gold, not technology points.

AI Core is the other constant, unlocked at Technology Level 67. Get that chain running before you spend a single point above Tech 74.

The Cheap Power Spikes

Several items deliver most of an endgame item's value at a fraction of the cost. If your gold and cores are limited, take these first:

  • Mechanical Bow (Tech 67) — 20,000 listed Attack, no gold cost in its recipe at all, and it fires cheap Arrows rather than manufactured ammunition. The single best value in the ancient tier.
  • Enhanced Lily's Spear (Tech 68) — 1,200 Attack from Paldium Fragment x20, Soralite Ingot x30, High Quality Cloth x20 and High Quality Wooden Board x20. No ancient cores at all.
  • Advanced Shield (Tech 60) — 1,800 self-repairing shield HP, available long before the ancient tier.
  • Giga Glider (Tech 40) — 50,000 gold for Speed 80 and Stamina Drain 12. Trivial money for the best glider in the game.
  • Metal Bat (Tech 40) — 500 Attack from Hardwood x30 and Refined Ingot x20.
  • Homeward Thundercloud (Tech 22) — 10,000 gold, weight 1, stacks to 9,999. Also obtainable free: x3 from the mission "Give a Fuack", and the Desert Town Ambassador sells x1 to x5.

Heavy Assault Rifle (Tech 70) deserves a mention too: 1,615 Attack from Soralite x100, Carbon Fiber x50, Bio Battery x30 and only AI Core x5 — no Ancient Civilization Cores. It is the best gun you can build without touching the bottleneck material.

What Things Are Worth

Individual Pals carry a Gold Coin value, and the spread is wide:

  • Dupin — Gold Coin value 3,191
  • Puffolt — Gold Coin value 556

For scale: at Dupin's value you would need to move roughly 3,100 of them to afford one Ancient Shield. Selling Pals is not a route to eight figures.

Two documented figures on the cost side worth knowing:

  • Giant Pal Soul can be crafted at a Crusher or Refrigerated Crusher from Large Pal Soul x2 + Gold Coin x1,000 — useful when you have souls but not the right tier.
  • World Tree expeditions award 8–12x Giant Pal Souls at a guaranteed 100% rate, which is far better than the Sakurajima expedition's roughly 50%. Treasure boxes range from 0% up to 71.4% depending on the box.

A Realistic Route to the Endgame

  1. Tech 22 – 60: take the cheap things as you pass them. Homeward Thundercloud, Carbon Fiber (35), Giga Glider (40), Bio Battery (44), Advanced Shield (60). Total gold: about 60,000.
  2. Tech 66 – 67: open the tier. Soralite Ingot, Ancient Furnace, Ancient Workbench, AI Core. Then the Mechanical Bow — enormous damage, cheap ammo, no gold.
  3. Start farming Silvance and Dandilord for Ancient Civilization Cores before you need them. This is the long pole.
  4. Tech 68 – 71: the affordable kit. Ancient Helm (500k), Enhanced Lily's Spear (no cores), Heavy Assault Rifle (no ancient cores). Skip the Ancient Shield for now.
  5. Tech 74 – 78: infrastructure. Paloxite Ingot, Ancient Relic Recycler, Ancient Power Generator, Ancient Material Synthesizer. These pay for the rest.
  6. Tech 79 – 80: the luxuries. Lightweight Ancient Armor and the Beam Launcher, once your core supply is steady.

The common mistake is buying weapon recipes in step 4 before the core supply in step 3. A recipe you cannot craft is a wasted technology point for a very long time.

Practical tips

  • Ancient Civilization Core is the real currency of the endgame. Silvance and Dandilord are your only documented new-Pal sources — farm them on a loop long before you need the cores.
  • The Advanced Shield at Tech 60 gives 82% of the Ancient Shield's protection for none of the 10 million gold. Take it and move on.
  • The Mechanical Bow costs no gold and runs on Arrows. It is the cheapest genuine power spike in the game.
  • The Ancient Relic Recycler converts relics into ingots, cores and schematics. It is effectively a second income stream once running.
  • Never buy a recipe above Tech 74 before the Ancient Workbench (67) and AI Core (67) are unlocked. Almost nothing above that line can be crafted without them.

Running your own Palworld 1.0 server

The ancient tier is a logistics problem: millions of gold, hundreds of ingots and a steady trickle of cores that only come from repeat boss runs. A dedicated Palworld 1.0 server keeps your furnaces, assembly lines and Relic Recycler working while you are logged off, so the stockpile grows on its own schedule instead of only when you are at the keyboard. Full crossplay lets a group split the material chain between them, and one-click backups plus automatic updates protect an investment measured in weeks.

Conclusion

Palworld 1.0's endgame costs more than most players expect — 10,000,000 Gold Coins for the Ancient Shield, 3.5 million for the Beam Scatter, and 500,000 for each piece of ancient armor. But gold is rarely what actually stops you: Ancient Civilization Core is, and among the new Pals only Silvance and Dandilord drop it. Take the cheap power spikes first — the Mechanical Bow at Tech 67 costs no gold at all, the Enhanced Lily's Spear needs no ancient cores, and the Advanced Shield at Tech 60 delivers 82% of a ten-million-gold item. Build the material chain before the luxury recipes, and the endgame stops being a wall.
