Three Palworld Ammo Types the Standard Lists Leave Out

A Palworld firefight at an enemy camp.

Most Palworld ammunition guides — including our own earlier one — cover the arrow, shell and bullet families and stop. Three ammo types sit outside those lists entirely: Magnum Ammo, Machine Gun Ammo and Sunreach Rapid-Fire Ammo. The last of these is the interesting one — it is the only ammunition in the game gated behind Soralite, and its description is still marked unfinished.

The Three

Magnum Ammo20.0259,9991 Gold
Machine Gun Ammo0.0259,999
Sunreach Rapid-Fire Ammo0.0259,99950 Gold

All three weigh 0.025 and stack to 9,999, which is the standard shape for Palworld ammunition and the reason ammo is almost never your carry problem. A thousand rounds is 25 weight — less than a single suit of armour.

Magnum Ammo is the plainest of the three. Rank 2, Common rarity, and a description that reads simply "Ammo for and other similar weapons" — the weapon name is missing from the string, which is part of why it slips past guides written from item text.

Machine Gun Ammo has the same problem, with an equally terse entry.

Sunreach Rapid-Fire Ammo sells for 50 Gold against Magnum's 1fifty times the value, which is the clearest signal in the data that it belongs to a different tier entirely.

Sunreach Is the Interesting One

Soralite makes this endgame ammunition. As covered in our Coralum and endgame materials guides, Soralite is a late-tier ingot — and no other ammunition in the game requires it. One Soralite Ingot per round is a genuinely expensive bullet.

It is a one-to-one recipe, which is unusual: one Soralite Ingot and one Gunpowder yields the ammo, rather than the batch outputs most ammunition recipes use. That makes the per-round cost easy to reason about and uncomfortable to look at.

The named weapons are the Combat SMG and the Heavy Assault Rifle — high rate-of-fire guns, which is exactly where an expensive round hurts most. A weapon that empties a magazine in two seconds paired with the most expensive ammunition in the game is a real budgeting problem, not a theoretical one.

And the [WIP] tag matters. "Description not finalized" means the item is in the files ahead of its final text. Its numbers may still change, so build a stock rather than a strategy around it.

Why These Get Missed

Card explaining why these Palworld ammo types are overlooked.

Two of the three have broken descriptions. Magnum Ammo and Machine Gun Ammo both read "Ammo for and other similar weapons" — with the weapon name absent from the string. A guide written by reading item descriptions will simply not learn what these are for.

The third is too new. Sunreach Rapid-Fire Ammo postdates most ammunition guides, and its [WIP] status means even current sources are cautious about it.

The practical consequence is worth stating plainly: check what your rifle actually takes. A player who assumes the standard bullet families cover everything will find their Combat SMG or Heavy Assault Rifle sitting empty with a full stack of the wrong rounds — and the fix is a Soralite run, not a trip to the workbench.

Weight is not the constraint here; cost is. At 0.025 per round you can carry thousands. At one Soralite Ingot each, you cannot make thousands. That inverts the usual ammunition calculation — for most guns you plan around inventory weight, and for these you plan around your ingot supply.

Keep a cheaper sidearm. The sensible loadout with a Soralite-fed weapon is to carry something conventional for ordinary fights and save the expensive gun for what actually needs it.

Practical tips

  • Three ammo types most lists omit: Magnum, Machine Gun and Sunreach Rapid-Fire.
  • All weigh 0.025 and stack to 9,999 — a thousand rounds is 25 weight.
  • Sunreach is Soralite Ingot ×1 + Gunpowder ×1 — the only Soralite-gated ammo.
  • It feeds the Combat SMG and Heavy Assault Rifle — high rate-of-fire guns.
  • It sells for 50 Gold against Magnum's 1 — fifty times the value.
  • Magnum and Machine Gun Ammo have broken descriptions with the weapon name missing.
  • Sunreach is marked [WIP] — its numbers may still change.
  • Carry a cheaper sidearm so the expensive gun is for what needs it.

Conclusion

Three Palworld ammunition types sit outside the standard families. Magnum Ammo (rank 2, sells for 1 Gold) and Machine Gun Ammo both carry broken descriptions with the weapon name missing from the string, which is why guides written from item text miss them. Sunreach Rapid-Fire Ammo is the one that matters: made from one Soralite Ingot and one Gunpowder, it is the only Soralite-gated ammunition in the game, feeds the Combat SMG and Heavy Assault Rifle, and sells for 50 Gold — fifty times Magnum's value. All three weigh 0.025 and stack to 9,999, so weight is never the constraint; with Sunreach the constraint is your Soralite supply, which inverts the usual ammunition calculation entirely. And since Sunreach is still marked [WIP], treat its figures as provisional.
