The World Tree Elemental Chests in Palworld: Handbooks at 3.3%, Fifty Times the Forest Rate

An elemental chest at the World Tree.

Palworld's elemental chests appear in five regions, and everyone farms the Forest ones because they are the first you meet. That is a mistake worth correcting: the World Tree versions are not a slightly better tier of the same table — they are a different table entirely. Where a Forest chest gives an Applied Handbook at 0.066%, the World Tree Fire chest gives one at 3.303%fifty times the rate.

Fifteen Chests Across Five Regions

Forest15 entries1315
Desert171516
Sakurajima171516
Sky Island171516
World Tree151515

Fifteen tables in total, and the pattern is regular: Electric tables are the largest, Fire the smallest, except at the World Tree where all three sit at 15 entries.

The Forest tables are the tightest of the ordinary regions — 13 to 15 entries against the 15 to 17 elsewhere — which does give them slightly better per-item odds. That is the only advantage they hold.

The Regional Chests Are Organ Farms

Every elemental chest outside the World Tree is built the same way: one organ dominating the table, everything else a long tail.

ChestOrganRate
Forest_FireTreasure (13)Flame Organ 10–2086.957%
Forest_WaterTreasure (15)Aquatic Pal Fluids 10–2086.957%
Forest_ElectricTreasure (15)Electric Organ 10–2082.645%
Desert_ElectricTreasure (17)Electric Organ 10–2078.74%

The organ rate falls as the table grows — 82.645% at 15 entries in the Forest, 78.74% at 17 entries in the desert — which is the same arithmetic that governs every other category in the game.

For bulk organs, the Forest chests are correct, and there is no reason to travel further for them.

The World Tree Chests Are Something Else

Card comparing a World Tree elemental chest with a Forest one.

WorldTree_FireTreasure (15 entries) does not contain a Flame Organ at all. Its table:

DropQuantityRate
Dog Coin20 – 3090.09%
Training Manual (XL)3 – 570%
Fire Radiant Gem5 – 1033.333%
Dragon Radiant Gem5 – 1033.333%
Dark Radiant Gem5 – 1033.333%
Gold Key1 – 225%
Applied Kindling Handbook I13.303%
Applied Mining Handbook I13.303%
Training Manual (L)2 – 35%

Read that against the Forest version and almost nothing matches.

Training Manual (XL) at 3–5 on a 70% roll is the standout. An XL manual is 100,000 Pal EXP, and this chest gives three to five of them, seven times out of ten — call it 280,000 EXP per open on average (70% of a 3–5 average), which is not a rate any other container in the game approaches.

Three Radiant Gems at 5–10 each on a 33.333% roll replaces the organ slot. Where a Forest chest gives you 10–20 of one organ, a World Tree chest gives you 5–10 of a Radiant Gem — a far scarcer material — on one roll in three, across three gem types.

The Handbook Rate Is the Real Story

Card highlighting the fifty-fold jump in Applied Handbook rates at the World Tree.

Applied Handbooks permanently raise a Pal's work suitability, and they are among the hardest items in the game to obtain. The comparison:

ChestApplied Handbook rateOdds
Forest elemental chest0.066% eachAbout 1 in 1,515
World Tree elemental chest3.303% eachAbout 1 in 30

That is a fifty-fold improvement, and it moves handbooks from "a lottery ticket you ignore" to "a farm you can actually run." With two handbook entries at 3.303% each, a World Tree Fire chest gives roughly a 6.5% chance of some handbook per open — about one in fifteen.

This is the single most useful finding in the elemental chest category. Anyone who has been farming Forest chests hoping for a handbook has been playing the wrong table by a factor of fifty.

Dog Coin at 20–30 on a 90.09% roll is the secondary reason to go. Compare that with Junk_WorldTree's 22–26 at 50.394%, the best junkyard rate — the elemental chest beats it on both quantity floor and probability.

Which Chest to Farm for What

  • Bulk organsForest chests, at 82.6% to 87% for 10–20 organs, and the smallest tables of the ordinary regions.
  • Applied HandbooksWorld Tree chests only, at 3.303% against 0.066% elsewhere.
  • Training Manual (XL)World Tree, at 3–5 on a 70% roll.
  • Radiant GemsWorld Tree, at 5–10 on a 33.333% roll across three gem types.
  • Dog CoinWorld Tree elemental chests at 90.09%, ahead of every junkyard.
  • Element-specific Skill Fruitsregional chests, since the World Tree tables trade the fruit slots for gems.

Conclusion

Palworld has fifteen elemental chest tables across five regions — Electric largest at 15–17 entries, Fire smallest at 13–15 — and the World Tree versions are a different table rather than a better tier. The regional chests are organ farms, topping out at 86.957% for 10–20 organs in the Forest and falling to 78.74% in the 17-entry desert Electric table as size grows. The World Tree Fire chest contains no organ at all: instead it pays Dog Coin 20–30 at 90.09% — beating every junkyard — Training Manual (XL) 3–5 at 70%, which is roughly 280,000 Pal EXP per open on average, and three Radiant Gems at 5–10 each on a 33.333% roll. The finding that matters most is the Applied Handbook rate: 3.303% at the World Tree against 0.066% in the Forest, a fifty-fold difference that turns a 1-in-1,515 lottery into a 1-in-30 roll, or about one handbook in fifteen chests across both entries. Anyone farming Forest chests for handbooks is on the wrong table by a factor of fifty.
