The Three Chromatic Dragons in Dragonwilds: 2,800, 4,000 and 5,000 Health

Dragonwilds has added its chromatic dragons one update at a time: Green in December 2025, Blue in March 2026, Red in June 2026. They form the cleanest difficulty ladder in the game — power level 5, 6 and 7, health 2,800, 4,000 and 5,000 — and all three answer to exactly the same thing. Water works on every one of them, and Fire works on none.
The Ladder

| Dragon | Power level | Health | Region | Added |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Green Dragon | 5 | 2,800 | Fellhollow | Eye on Ashenfall 0.10, 15 Dec 2025 |
| Blue Dragon | 6 | 4,000 | Dowdun Reach | 0.11, 31 Mar 2026 |
| Red Dragon | 7 | 5,000 | — | Eye on Ashenfall 0.12.0, 23 Jun 2026 |
The steps are +1,200 then +1,000 — so the gap narrows as you climb, and the Red Dragon is a smaller jump from the Blue than the Blue was from the Green. If the Blue Dragon was manageable, the Red is not the wall its power level suggests.
Each arrived with the region it lives in: the Green with Fellhollow, the Blue with Dowdun Reach, the Red with the 0.12.0 content. That pairing means meeting a new dragon and learning a new region tend to happen together.
Water Works, Fire Does Not
All three publish the same two lines:
Weak to: Water. Resistant to: Fire.
There is no ambiguity and no exception across the family. A Water spell or a Water-enchanted weapon is the correct answer to every dragon in Dragonwilds, and Fire is the single worst element to bring — which is worth stating plainly, because a fire-breathing dragon reads to most players as a fire-themed fight, and the instinct to answer fire with fire is exactly wrong.
Two of the three add further protection on top:
| Dragon | Also immune to | Also resistant to |
|---|---|---|
| Green Dragon | Burning, Poison | — |
| Blue Dragon | Burning | Ranged |
| Red Dragon | — | — |
The Blue Dragon resists Ranged, which is the entry that changes a build. It is the only dragon of the three that penalises an archer, and it sits in Dowdun Reach alongside a Black Knight Sniper that also resists Bolts and Arrows — so that region as a whole is unfriendly to ranged play.
The Green Dragon is immune to Poison as well as Burning, which removes weapon poison from the earliest dragon fight, exactly where a newer player is most likely to be relying on it.
What Burning Immunity Actually Costs

Green and Blue are immune to Burning on top of resisting Fire, and those are two different mechanics being closed off at once:
- Fire resistance reduces the direct damage of a fire attack.
- Burning immunity removes the damage-over-time that a fire attack applies afterwards.
A fire build against a Blue Dragon therefore loses on both halves — reduced hits and no lingering burn — against 4,000 health. That is not a suboptimal choice; it is close to no damage at all.
The Red Dragon publishes neither immunity, only the Water weakness and Fire resistance. On paper that makes it the most forgiving of the three to a fire build, which is an odd result for the highest-tier dragon and worth knowing if fire is all you have.
Preparing for a Dragon Fight

- Bring Water damage. It is the published weakness of all three, with no exceptions to remember.
- Leave fire at home. Resisted by all three, and Burning is additionally useless against two of them.
- Drink antifire before you engage, not after — like every resistance in this game, it counts only if it is active when the hit lands.
- Do not rely on poison against the Green. It is immune, and the Green is the dragon a newer player meets first.
- Do not rely on a bow against the Blue. It resists Ranged, and so does the Sniper in the same region.
- Expect the Red to be a shorter step than its tier implies — 1,000 health above the Blue, against the Blue's 1,200 above the Green.

Conclusion
Dragonwilds' three chromatic dragons form a clean ladder — Green at power level 5 with 2,800 health in Fellhollow, Blue at 6 with 4,000 in Dowdun Reach, Red at 7 with 5,000 — added across three updates between December 2025 and June 2026, with the steps narrowing from +1,200 to +1,000 so the Red is a smaller jump than its tier suggests. All three share one answer: weak to Water, resistant to Fire, which makes Water the universal dragon element and fire the single worst thing to bring, however counter-intuitive that feels against a fire-breather. Green and Blue are additionally immune to Burning, closing off both the direct damage and the damage-over-time of a fire build; the Green is also immune to Poison, removing weapon poison from the earliest dragon fight; and the Blue resists Ranged, which — alongside the Black Knight Sniper's resistance to Bolts and Arrows in the same region — makes Dowdun Reach a poor place to be an archer. The Red publishes no immunities at all, making the hardest dragon oddly the most forgiving of a suboptimal loadout.
