The Seekers in Valheim: They Resist Every Physical Damage Type, Except in One Spot

A Seeker in the Valheim Mistlands.

The Mistlands' signature enemy family does something no other creature in Valheim does: all three Seeker types resist Blunt, Pierce and Slash simultaneously. Every weapon you own is being reduced. The Seeker Soldier, the 1,500-health one that actually threatens you, then hands the answer back — it carries an abdomen weak point that is weak to six damage types at once, including all three of the ones its body resists.

The shared resistance line is the family's whole identity. Blunt, Pierce and Slash are the three physical damage types in the game — clubs, arrows and spears, swords and axes. There is no melee or ranged weapon that avoids all three. Whatever you brought to the Mistlands, it is landing reduced against every Seeker on the map.

What is not on the list is equally informative: Fire, Frost, Lightning and Poison are all absent, so elemental damage lands at full value. The Mistlands is the biome where magic stops being a novelty and becomes the correct answer.

The Soldier's Abdomen Changes the Fight

Card explaining the Seeker Soldier's abdomen weak point and the six types it is weak to.

The Seeker Soldier is the family's heavy — 1,500 health at zero stars, 4,500 at two — and it publishes a weak point that reads like a list of everything:

Weak point: Abdomen. Weak to Blunt, Pierce, Slash, Fire, Frost and Lightning.

Six damage types, and three of them are the ones the Soldier's body resists. That is not a small bonus — it is a complete inversion. The same sword that is being reduced against the shell is doing bonus damage against the abdomen, so the difference between a competent Soldier fight and a hopeless one is entirely about where you are standing.

Practically that means getting behind or beneath it. A Soldier fought head-on is a 1,500-health enemy resisting your weapon; a Soldier fought from the abdomen is a normal fight with a damage bonus.

Its attacks are heavy and carry structural damage:

AttackDamage
Ram100 Blunt, 100 Chop, 100 Pickaxe
Bite100 Slash
Ground slam120 Blunt, 100 Chop, 100 Pickaxe

100 Chop and 100 Pickaxe on two of the three means a Soldier that reaches a Mistlands outpost takes it apart, in the same way a Troll or a Stone Golem does.

The Ordinary Seeker

200, 400 and 600 health across the star tiers, with four attacks:

AttackDamage
Pincers90 Pierce
Claw120 Pierce
Ground slam100 Blunt
Ground slam (flying)100 Blunt

The claw at 120 Pierce is the one that hurts, and the flying ground slam is the reason a Seeker cannot simply be outrun on foot — it closes vertically.

Its 30% stagger threshold is low, which is the family's one concession: 60 damage staggers a base Seeker, and at that health it is reachable even through the resistance.

Seekers drop Seeker meat, Carapace and a trophy. Carapace is the Mistlands armour and weapon material, so ordinary Seekers are a resource farm as much as an obstacle.

The Brood

20 health. The Seeker Brood is the smallest health pool in this whole series after the Gyrfalcon, and it still resists Blunt, Pierce and Slash like its parents — a resistance that is completely academic against 20 health.

Its attack is 60 Pierce, which is not academic at all. A Brood is a creature that dies to one hit and takes a third of your health bar if you ignore it, and they arrive in numbers.

It drops Royal jelly, which is its entire reason to exist as a distinct enemy.

The Loadout for Seeker Country

Card listing the correct Mistlands loadout against Seekers.

  • Bring elemental damage. Fire, Frost and Lightning are absent from every Seeker resistance line. This is what the Mistlands magic tier is for.
  • Do not rely on Spirit. All three are immune, so Frostner's spirit component and the Mistlands' spirit staves are wasted here.
  • Aim at the Soldier's abdomen. Six weaknesses including the three its body resists — this is the single largest damage swing available in the biome.
  • Stagger is available at 30%. That is 60 damage on a Seeker, 450 on a Soldier — reachable on the former, a real investment on the latter.
  • Kill Broods first. 20 health, 60 Pierce, and they come in groups.
  • Fight Soldiers away from your build. Ram and ground slam both carry 100 Chop and 100 Pickaxe.

Running your own Valheim server

The Mistlands is where a group's kit genuinely diverges — one player on magic, another on carapace melee — and that only works in a world everyone shares. A gamever Valheim server keeps it persistent for up to 10 players, with one-click backups.

Conclusion

Valheim's three Seeker types all resist Blunt, Pierce and Slash at once — the complete set of physical damage types — and are all immune to Spirit, which means no conventional weapon and no spirit staff lands at full value in Seeker country. What their resistance lines omit is the answer: Fire, Frost, Lightning and Poison are all absent, making the Mistlands the biome where elemental damage becomes correct rather than optional. The Seeker Soldier at 1,500 / 3,000 / 4,500 health then inverts its own defence with an abdomen weak point weak to Blunt, Pierce, Slash, Fire, Frost and Lightning — six types, three of them the ones its body resists — so position, not weapon choice, decides that fight. The ordinary Seeker sits at 200 / 400 / 600 with a 120 Pierce claw and a flying ground slam that stops you outrunning it, dropping the Carapace the whole biome's gear is made from. And the Seeker Brood has just 20 health while hitting for 60 Pierce, which makes it a one-hit kill you cannot afford to ignore.
