The Imbuing Barrel in Dragonwilds: One Wild Anima Turns Six Potions Into Super Potions in 12 Minutes

An imbuing barrel in Ashenfall.

The Imbuing Barrel upgrades ordinary potions into super potions, and its economics are unusually easy to plan around: one Wild Anima processes six potions in twelve minutes. Not a chance, not a rate — a fixed batch.

The catch is that Wild Anima is itself a processed material, made by smelting four Anima-Infused Bark in a kiln, which puts yet another queue on the busiest station in your base.

Speed-upSuperheat — "can also save on fuel"

Twelve minutes for six potions is two minutes per potion, which is slow enough that a batch is something you start and leave.

Four bark per Wild Anima, six potions per Wild Anima — so the real ratio is four Anima-Infused Bark for six super potions, or two-thirds of a bark per potion.

Superheat does two things here. The Artisan 20 spell speeds the barrel up like any fire station, and the wiki notes it also saves fuel — which is unusual, since elsewhere Superheat only buys time.

That makes Superheat worth casting on the barrel specifically. On a kiln it saves minutes; here it saves Wild Anima, which is four bark a unit.

Where the Fuel Comes From

Wild Anima is a kiln product, which means the imbuing barrel is downstream of the same station that makes your charcoal, your adhesive and your fired pottery.

Anima-Infused Bark is the raw input, and four of it makes one Wild Anima. Any serious super-potion run is therefore a bark-gathering run first.

This is the fourth queue on the kiln. Charcoal for the furnace, adhesive for fuel pellets, unfired pottery for vessels, and now anima-infused bark for the imbuing barrel — all on one station.

Build a second kiln if you brew seriously. At 8 Ash Logs, 20 Stone, 6 Clay and 10 Fire Runes it is cheap, and it removes the only real bottleneck in the potion chain.

Where It Sits in the Potion Chain

Four stations stand between a herb and a super potion, and the imbuing barrel is the last of them — which is why it is the one most players never build.

The Potions category holds 73 items, of which 40 are the Focused experience line. The super tier sits on top of that, so the barrel multiplies a system that is already large.

Note that it upgrades rather than creates. You cannot brew a super potion directly; the barrel takes finished potions as input, so a batch of six means brewing six first.

Running It Well

Card advising how to use the Dragonwilds imbuing barrel.

  • Always fill it to six. One Wild Anima processes six potions whether you load six or one, so a partial batch wastes fuel.
  • Superheat it, not just the kiln. It is the one station where Superheat saves fuel as well as time.
  • Gather Anima-Infused Bark in bulk. Four bark per Wild Anima means a six-potion batch starts as a foraging trip.
  • Brew first, imbue second. The barrel upgrades existing potions; it cannot make one.
  • Build a second kiln before Wild Anima starts competing with charcoal.
  • Start a batch before you log off. Twelve minutes is a good length for a station you leave running.

On a shared server, put the barrel next to the cauldron. The two stations are used in sequence by the same person, and separating them turns every batch into a walk.

Conclusion

The Imbuing Barrel turns ordinary potions into super potions on a fixed ratio: one Wild Anima processes six potions in twelve minutes, or two minutes per potion. Its fuel is itself a kiln product — four Anima-Infused Bark smelted into one Wild Anima — which means a six-potion batch really costs four bark, and which puts a fourth queue on the station already handling charcoal, adhesive and fired pottery. Superheat is worth casting here specifically, because on the imbuing barrel the Artisan 20 spell saves fuel as well as time, and fuel here is four bark a unit. The barrel upgrades rather than creates, so a batch of six means brewing six first — placing it at the end of a four-station chain that runs herb → clay vessel → brewing cauldron → imbuing barrel. Fill it to six every time, since a partial batch spends the same Wild Anima.
