The Full Palworld Technology Tree Costs 1,413 Points — and 182 Ancient Ones

The technology tree in Palworld.

Palworld's technology tree runs to 80 levels, and unlocking every entry in it costs 1,413 Technology Points and 182 Ancient Technology Points. Those two totals are the numbers that make the whole progression planable — because Technology Points arrive at a known rate, and once you know the destination you can work out how far away it is.

The Two Totals

CurrencyTotal to unlock everything
Technology Points1,413
Ancient Technology Points182

The ratio is roughly 8 to 1 — for every Ancient point the tree demands, it wants nearly eight ordinary ones. That reflects how differently the two are earned.

Where 1,413 Points Come From

Technology Points arrive from three sources, and only one of them scales:

SourcePoints
Level up+6 per level
Activate a fast travel point+1 each
Advanced Technical Manual+1
Innovative Technical Manual+2
Futuristic Technical Manual+3

Levelling to 60 gives 360 points. That is 25% of the tree from levels alone, which means the other 1,053 points have to come from Great Eagle Statues and Technical Manuals.

At +1 per statue, statues alone cannot close that gap — there are not a thousand of them. So the arithmetic forces the conclusion: Technical Manuals are not optional if you want the full tree.

Where manuals actually drop is therefore the real progression question:

  • Goal enemy campsAdvanced and Ancient Technical Manual at 36.38% each, the best rate on any farmable container.
  • Grass02 dungeon table — Advanced and Ancient at 22.995% each.
  • Yakushima02Futuristic and Ancient at 32.967% each, and the Futuristic is worth +3.
  • Junkyards and dungeon chests carry them at lower rates throughout.

Goal camps are the answer. Two manuals at 36.38% each, on a container that resets.

Where 182 Ancient Points Come From

Card explaining that Ancient Technology Points come only from bosses.

Ancient Technology Points are a separate currency with a separate source, and they gate the ancient half of the tree — the Ancient Civilization structures, the endgame spheres and the technologies that need Ancient Civilization Parts.

182 is a much smaller number than 1,413, which is the design telling you that the ancient tree is narrower rather than cheaper. Each individual ancient unlock costs more relative to the pool.

The practical consequence is that the two halves progress independently. You can be capped out on ordinary technology and starved of ancient points, or vice versa — and grinding one does nothing for the other.

What the Early Tree Actually Contains

The first levels are dense with essentials, which is why the tree feels generous early and tight later:

LevelUnlocks
1Primitive Workbench, Stone Axe, Stone Pickaxe, Hand-Held Torch, Wooden Club
2Palbox, Pal Sphere, Campfire, Wooden Chest, Repair Bench, Wooden Structure Set, Pal Dressing Facility
3Old Bow, Arrow, Stone Spear, Shoddy Bed, Straw Pal Bed, Global Palbox
4Common Shield, Cloth Outfit

Level 2 alone contains seven unlocks, including the Palbox — the single most important structure in the game — and the Repair Bench, which at Wood 10 and Stone 10 is the cheapest useful building you will ever place.

The Global Palbox arrives at level 3, which is far earlier than its cross-world transfer function suggests. It is available before you have a bed worth sleeping in.

Planning the Spend

Card advising how to budget Palworld technology points.

  • Do not expect to unlock everything from levelling. At +6 per level, sixty levels give 360 of 1,413 — about a quarter.
  • Touch every Great Eagle Statue you pass. +1 each, permanent, and the travel node is a bonus.
  • Farm Goal enemy camps for manuals at 36.38% for each of two types — the best rate available.
  • Prioritise Futuristic manuals at +3 where you can get them; Yakushima02 gives them at 32.967%.
  • Treat the ancient tree as a separate project. 182 points from a narrower source, and no amount of ordinary progress helps.
  • Respec is not a thing here. Technology Points are spent permanently — unlike Status Points, which the Memory Wiping Medicine resets.

Conclusion

Palworld's technology tree spans 80 levels and costs 1,413 Technology Points plus 182 Ancient Technology Points to unlock in full — a ratio of roughly 8 to 1. Since Technology Points arrive at +6 per level, reaching level 60 supplies only 360 of the 1,413, about a quarter, and at +1 per Great Eagle Statue the statues cannot close the remaining 1,053. That makes Technical Manuals mandatory rather than optional, and it makes Goal enemy camps the best source in the game at 36.38% each for both the Advanced and Ancient manual, ahead of the Grass02 dungeon's 22.995% and alongside Yakushima02's Futuristic manual at 32.967%, which is worth +3. The 182 Ancient points come from a separate, narrower source and progress independently — grinding ordinary technology does nothing for them. And the early tree is front-loaded: level 2 alone unlocks seven things including the Palbox and the Repair Bench, while the Global Palbox arrives at level 3.
