The Dragonwilds Steam Achievements: 50 on the Log, 48 You Can Actually Get

A player character overlooking the Dragonwilds landscape at dusk.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds shows fifty achievements on the achievement log, of which forty-eight are currently achievable. They are built on a pattern that makes the whole list predictable once you see it: every skill has three of them — Novice, Veteran and Mastery. Novice is one action. Mastery is level 99. And the Veteran tier, which sits between them, turns out to be the most interesting part of the list: almost all of them are spell combos.

Three Tiers Per Skill

TierWhat it asksExample
NoviceOne action, the first timeSwift Pick — mine an ore
VeteranOne clever action, usually a spellIt's all Mine! — break 4 ore deposits with one Rocksplosion
MasteryReach level 99 in that skillEverything is Oresome — Mining 99

Twelve skills at three tiers each accounts for thirty-six of the forty-eight. The rest are region and boss achievements.

The Novice tier fires on a single action, and most players trip all of them in the first few hours without aiming at anything:

  • Swift Pick — mine an ore
  • Chop Chop — chop down a tree
  • One Misthalin Star — cook a food item
  • Stab, Slash, Crush! — construct a weapon
  • Crafting to Your Own Rune — craft a rune
  • Sheltered — build a base and claim a bed
  • Not today! — parry an attack
  • Singed! — hit an enemy with fire magic
  • Strike True — hit an enemy with a Trick Shot
  • Fred would be proud — plant a seed
  • Catch of the Day — catch a fish
  • Medal Winner — get your first gold medal

"Singed!" and "Strike True" never ask you to win. They want a hit landed, not a kill — which makes them the two cheapest on the list if you are still under-geared.

The Veteran Tier Is Spell Combos

These are the ones worth planning for, because most of them ask you to use a skill spell well rather than repeatedly:

AchievementRequirement
It's all Mine!Break 4 ore deposits with one Rocksplosion
You Axed for ItCut down 3 trees with one Axtral Projection
Gotta Patch 'Em AllHarvest 24 plots with a single Uproot
Mend it like...Repair 3 items with one Magical Mending
FrenziedCast Fishnado on a frenzied fishing spot
I'll Just WatchHave a confused enemy defeat another enemy
Master HuntsmanHit a snared enemy with an enhanced arrow
Eye can see my house from here!Build while using the Eye of Oculus
Two Misthalin StarsMake an iconic meal
No Runefunds!Cast the spell "Runes to Rune Essence"
Sharp and ShinyHave a weapon enchanted and honed with a whetstone at once
Honed EdgeEnchant a weapon
All Buffed UpHold a food, infusion and potion buff at the same time

Most of these are setup problems, not grind problems. Gotta Patch 'Em All wants twenty-four plots planted and ripe before you cast once; It's all Mine! wants four ore deposits clustered tightly enough for one Rocksplosion. You can spend fifty hours mining and never earn it by accident.

"All Buffed Up" is the one that needs the rules explained. It wants a food, an infusion and a potion buff live simultaneously — and since only one infusion buff can be active at a time, the trick is that these are three different buff categories, not three drinks.

Medal Collector is the hardest thing on the list. The Agility Veteran achievement wants a gold medal on every agility course — and as our agility medals guide covers, each medal tier already requires clearing every course at that standard.

Regions, Bosses and the Mastery Grind

Card listing the Dragonwilds region, boss and Mastery achievements.

Five region achievements each want three secondary quests completed in that region: Helping around the farm (Brynmoor), Bark at the Moon (Ghornfell), Don't fear the Reaper (Fellhollow), Mages & Knights & Demons, oh my! (Dowdun Reach) and Icthlarin's Bigger Helper (Umbral Sands).

Four are boss kills, and their names borrow from the quests rather than describing them:

AchievementRequirement
Dragon SlayerDefeat Velgar
Withering HeightsDefeat Imaru
Black Knight's FortressDefeat the Black Knight Titan
Scorching SandsDefeat the Umbral Sands boss

And twelve Mastery achievements each want level 99 in a single skill — Melee Master, Dionysius' Disciple, Thrill of the Hunt, Everything is Oresome, Everything is Treemendous, The School of Jewels, Absolute Planker, Three Misthalin Stars, Altar Native, Granny's Favourite Farmer, Maximum Effishiency and Amazingly Acrobatic. That is the real completionist wall, not the Veteran tier.

One warning worth knowing before you start counting. Achievements were added in 0.12.0 and do not apply retroactively — an existing character can still earn them all, but will have to go back and redo some things a fresh character would trip over naturally. Jagex has also added achievements in shadow updates before major releases, so a 100% log is periodically un-100%'d through no fault of yours.

Practical tips

  • 50 on the log, 48 currently achievable.
  • Three tiers per skill: Novice (one action), Veteran (one clever action), Mastery (level 99).
  • The Novice tier is a free sweep — twelve achievements in a short session.
  • The Veteran tier is spell combos: 4 deposits in one Rocksplosion, 24 plots in one Uproot.
  • Medal Collector wants gold on every agility course — the hardest single task.
  • Twelve Mastery achievements each want a 99.
  • Achievements are not retroactive — older characters must go back for some.

Running your own Dragonwilds server

Achievements track to your account, but the world they were earned in has to survive to matter — and a Mastery run to 99 is measured in weeks. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps your save persistent between sessions with automatic updates and one-click backups, so a completionist run never restarts because a local host went offline.

Conclusion

Dragonwilds shows fifty Steam achievements, forty-eight of them currently achievable, and they resolve into a clean structure: three per skill. The Novice tier is a single action each — mine an ore, chop a tree, plant a seed, catch a fish — and can be swept in one short session. The Veteran tier is where the design lives: spell combos like breaking four ore deposits with one Rocksplosion, felling three trees with one Axtral Projection, or harvesting 24 plots with a single Uproot — setup problems you will never trip by accident. The Mastery tier is twelve separate level-99 grinds. Around them sit five region achievements (three secondary quests each) and four boss killsVelgar, Imaru, the Black Knight Titan and the Umbral Sands boss. Medal Collector, wanting gold on every agility course, is the hardest single entry. And note that achievements arrived in 0.12.0 and are not retroactive.
