Rings and Amulets in Dragonwilds: The +5% XP Everyone Skips

There is an Inspiring Ring for nine different Dragonwilds skills, each giving +5% experience in that skill, and every one of them costs the same four cheap materials. One clay mould, two silver bars, two opals, three vault shards. Most players never craft a single one — and then spend hundreds of hours levelling at 95% speed. Trinkets are the cheapest permanent upgrade in the game, and the list goes a long way past the XP rings. Here is all of it.
On sourcing. Jagex do not publish a trinket table. The details below come from the community RuneScape: Dragonwilds wiki, and can change with any patch.
The Inspiring Line
Every trinket in the game is crafted at the Jeweler's Bench, and the Inspiring line splits neatly along the ring/amulet divide.
| Slot | Covers | Effect | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ring | Mining, Woodcutting, Artisan, Construction, Cooking, Runecrafting, Farming, Fishing, Agility | +5% XP in that skill | 1 Clay Mould, 2 Silver Bar, 2 Opal, 3 Vault Shard |
| Amulet | Attack, Magic, Ranged | +5% XP in that skill | 1 Clay Mould, 4 Gold Bar, 4 Jade, 6 Vault Shard |
That is the whole skill list — nine non-combat skills on rings, three combat skills on amulets.
Two things follow from the cost.
The nine skill rings share an identical recipe. Same mould, same silver, same opals, same shards. Once you can make one, you can make all nine — the only limit is how many opals you have, and Gem Prospector at Mining 16 means "mining ore now sometimes produces gemstones".
And +5% is worth more than it sounds on this experience curve. Level 99 costs 1,000,000 experience. A flat 5% saves 50,000 — more than reaching level 60 from scratch. Even stopping at 90, it saves over 15,000.
The practical habit is to swap the ring to match the activity. Mining for an hour? Wear the Mining ring. It costs nothing but a menu click, and there is no downside.
The Combat Amulets

Once you stop levelling and start fighting, the amulet slot becomes a genuine decision:
| Amulet | Effect | Gemstone |
|---|---|---|
| Amulet of Strength | +12.5% melee damage | Red Topaz |
| Amulet of Magic | +12.5% magic damage | Sapphire |
| Amulet of Accuracy | +15% — listed as weak point damage with ranged weapons, and elsewhere as critical damage | Opal |
| Amulet of Defence | +5 armour value to each defence type | Jade |
| Amulet of Glory | +25% crit damage across melee, magic and ranged, plus +5 defence each | Dragonstone |
| Salve Amulet | +17% damage against undead | Salve Crystal |
| Unholy Symbol | +15% damage of every type, −15 health while worn | Opal |
The Amulet of Glory is the one to build toward. It gives crit damage across all three combat styles and the defensive bonus of the Amulet of Defence — it is not a compromise between offence and defence, it is both. Its recipe, a Commemorative Coin, comes from red dragons.
The Unholy Symbol is the interesting trade. +15% to every damage type is the largest offensive number available, and −15 health is a real cost in a game where healing potions did not survive the health rework. Boss strategy guides repeatedly suggest it for players confident in their dodging, with the Amulet of Defence or the Ring of Life as the safer swap.
Note the discrepancy on the Amulet of Accuracy. The wiki's trinket list records +15% critical damage while its special-effects list records +15% weak point damage with ranged weapons. Those are not the same thing — treat it as a ranged-focused amulet until Jagex document it directly.
The Rings That Are Not About XP

| Ring | Effect | Recipe from |
|---|---|---|
| Ring of Life | Teleports you to your bed when close to death | Death's Exchange |
| Ring of Recoil | 50% of damage received is dealt back to attackers | Green dragons |
| Ring of Pursuit | Animals are less aware of your presence | Lesser dragons |
| Abraxus Ring | Chance to reduce the rune cost of utility spells | What Remains is Written |
| Ravanna's Ring | Chance for a Corpse Cotton flower to grow where an enemy fell | A Melody Remembered |
The Ring of Life is the one worth crafting before a boss. It is an automatic escape rather than a bonus — and in a game where death drops your gear where you fell, an automatic teleport home is a recovery mechanic, not a comfort.
The Ring of Pursuit is the hunting ring, and it pairs with the ranged armour 1/3 set bonus of +40 stealth speed — the closest thing Dragonwilds has to a stealth build.
The Abraxus Ring earns its slot for anyone who leans on utility magic. Spells like Surge, Enchant Weapon and Tempest Shield are cast repeatedly during a long fight, and every rune saved is a rune not crafted.
Agility, and the Two Odd Ones

Two amulets sit outside the pattern entirely.
The Gyrhawk Amulet gives +100% Agility XP while you run, consuming Warped Feathers every 600 metres. Since Agility levels passively while you traverse the world, this doubles a skill you are already training by existing — and the wiki notes the amount increases further with Agility passives.
Its upgrade, the Gilded Gyrhawk Amulet, adds +25% Agility XP from Agility courses on top. It costs one Gyrhawk Amulet and 20 Gold Leaf, and its recipe requires a gold medal on every available Agility course — so it is a reward for finishing the content rather than a shortcut into it.
And the Skills Necklace grants a chance to double resources from Fishing, Mining and Woodcutting. It uses Dragonstone, and its recipe — an Inspiring Insignia — drops from red dragons.
On a shared server, that gathering trio is the one to prioritise. The XP rings benefit the wearer; a doubled ore or log goes into the shared chest. If your group is going to craft one high-end trinket first, the Skills Necklace is the one everyone feels.
One last note on materials. The gemstone requirements are consistent enough to plan around: Opal for the skill rings, Jade for defence, Sapphire for magic, Red Topaz for strength, Diamond for the Ring of Life and Dragonstone for the two top-end amulets. If you are short of a trinket, you are usually short of one gem — and gems come from mining, not from hunting.

Running your own RuneScape: Dragonwilds server
Trinkets are a long game — gem supply, quest recipes, dragon drops — and none of that survives a world that only exists while one person is online. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps Ashenfall available around the clock for up to six players, updates automatically so client and server versions never drift, and takes one-click backups before disruptive changes.
Conclusion
Dragonwilds' trinkets are the cheapest permanent upgrade in the game and the most commonly skipped. Nine Inspiring Rings cover the non-combat skills and three Inspiring Amulets cover the combat skills, all giving +5% experience and all crafted at the Jeweler's Bench — the nine rings from an identical recipe of one clay mould, two silver bars, two opals and three vault shards. On a curve where 99 costs a million experience, that 5% is worth 50,000 XP. Beyond them sit the combat amulets — Strength and Magic at +12.5% damage, the Amulet of Glory combining +25% crit damage across all three styles with +5 defence each, and the Unholy Symbol trading +15% total damage for −15 health — plus the utility rings, of which the Ring of Life's automatic teleport near death is the one to have before a boss. For a group, the standout is the Skills Necklace, whose chance to double Fishing, Mining and Woodcutting output is the only trinket whose benefit lands in the shared chest.
