Ominous and Mutated Eggs in Palworld: Two Lines Outside the Element Grid

Palworld's twenty-six ordinary eggs sort neatly into nine elemental families. Two more lines sit entirely outside that grid. The Ominous Egg is "imbued with the energy of the World Tree". The Mutated Egg is "extremely rarely obtained, having undergone a special mutation". Both come in three sizes, both weigh ten, and — unlike every other egg in the game — neither stacks.
Two Lines, Neither Elemental

| Ominous | Mutated | Ordinary eggs | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Element | None | None | One of nine |
| Sizes | Plain, Large, Huge | Plain, Large, Huge | Plain, Large, Huge |
| Weight | 10 | 10 | Lighter |
| Stack limit | 1 | 1 | Higher |
| Item type | Material | Material | Material |
The stack limit of 1 is the practical detail. Every ordinary egg stacks; these do not. Six of these in your bag is six inventory slots and sixty weight, which is a real haul cost on a long run and the reason to bank them rather than carry them.
Both are filed as Materials rather than as a separate egg category, with the internal type MaterialPalEgg — the same classification as the elemental eggs. So mechanically they behave like eggs; they are just not sorted by element.
And both go in an ordinary Egg Incubator. Neither description hints at a special station: "Place it in an Egg Incubator to incubate it." Whatever they hatch, the process is the one you already have at your base.
Ominous Eggs

| Egg | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Ominous Egg | Common |
| Large Ominous Egg | Rare |
| Huge Ominous Egg | The top of the line |
The description is the same across the line: "A mysterious egg imbued with the energy of the World Tree."
The internal code confirms where these belong. The Ominous Egg's code is PalEgg_WorldTree_01 — these are World Tree content, not a raid drop or a merchant item. That places them alongside World Tree Holy Water and the elemental Awakening Crystals in the same endgame region.
The rarity climbs with size, unlike ordinary eggs. A Common Egg and a Huge Common Egg share the same Common rarity tag; the Ominous line goes Common → Rare → higher, which means the game is treating size as genuine scarcity here rather than as a tier label.
That is the argument for banking every one you find. A Large Ominous Egg is flagged Rare by the game itself, which is not something it says about ordinary eggs at any size.
Mutated Eggs

| Egg | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Mutated Egg | The base of the line |
| Large Mutated Egg | The middle |
| Huge Mutated Egg | Legendary |
The Huge Mutated Egg carries the Legendary tag — the highest rarity applied to any egg in the game. Nothing in the elemental grid reaches it.
Its description is doing a lot of work: "You can feel the restless aura of a strange soul, as if a monster is about to be born." The base Mutated Egg is more prosaic — "An egg that is extremely rarely obtained, having undergone a special mutation" — but both point the same direction.
And the Huge version is explicitly unfinished. Its entry is marked [WIP] Description not finalized, which means the item exists in the game files ahead of its final text. Treat anything you read about its contents with real caution, including the rarity tag: WIP entries change.
The internal code is PalEgg_MutationPal_01, which is a different family from the Ominous line's PalEgg_WorldTree_01. These are two separate systems that happen to share a shape, not two names for the same thing.
Practically: hold them. Both lines are rare enough that the correct play is to bank rather than experiment, and the Huge Mutated Egg's WIP status is a direct argument against making plans around it yet.
Practical tips
- Two non-elemental egg lines: Ominous and Mutated, three sizes each.
- Both weigh 10 and — uniquely — stack to 1. Six eggs is six slots.
- Both go in an ordinary Egg Incubator.
- Ominous is World Tree content — internal code
PalEgg_WorldTree_01.- Ominous rarity climbs with size: Common → Rare → higher.
- The Huge Mutated Egg is Legendary — the highest egg rarity in the game.
- But it is marked
[WIP], so its details may still change.- Bank them rather than carrying them. The weight is real.

Rare eggs are exactly the thing you want sitting safely in a base chest rather than on a world that might not be there tomorrow. A gamever Palworld server keeps your world and storage persistent with full crossplay, automatic updates and one-click backups, so a Legendary egg banked today is still banked next week.
Conclusion
Palworld has two egg lines outside the nine-family elemental grid. The Ominous line — Ominous, Large Ominous and Huge Ominous — is "imbued with the energy of the World Tree", confirmed by its internal code PalEgg_WorldTree_01, and its rarity climbs with size from Common to Rare and beyond, which the elemental eggs never do. The Mutated line — Mutated, Large Mutated and Huge Mutated — is described as "extremely rarely obtained", sits under the separate code PalEgg_MutationPal_01, and tops out at a Legendary Huge version whose description warns of "the restless aura of a strange soul". Both lines weigh 10 and stack to 1, unlike every ordinary egg, which makes carrying several genuinely expensive. And the Huge Mutated Egg is still marked [WIP] in the game files, so treat its numbers as provisional.
