Mouse, Void, Proximity, and Blunder bombs in Core Keeper Bags and Blasts Update
Exploring the underground in Core Keeper is always challenging, but nothing clears a path - or a group of enemies - better than a well-placed bomb. The Bags and Blasts update introduces four new explosive tools to experiment with: the sneaky Mouse Bomb, the powerful Void Bomb, the strategic Proximity Bomb, and the unpredictable Blunder Bomb. Each of these has its own unique effect, making them more than just tools of destruction.
Crafting and Using Bombs
Before getting into the specifics of each bomb, it’s important to know how to craft them. Bombs are made using the Alchemist Table for a Mouse bomb and the Laboratory Table for Proximity, Blunder, or Void Bomb.

Once you have the Alchemist Table, open the crafting menu and locate the bomb recipes. Each type requires a different combination of slime, ore, and other materials. After crafting, bombs can be thrown manually, placed as traps, or used for tactical demolition. Be mindful of their blast radius - these are not useful tools.

Mouse Bomb – A Sneaky Surprise
To craft it, gather 3xBomb Peppers and 2xSlimes. The Mouse Bomb is designed for subtlety. It’s small, fast-moving, and can be thrown to chase enemies down before detonating. This makes it particularly useful for dealing with foes trying to run away or dod attacks. Unlike traditional bombs, which explode in place, the Mouse Bomb adds a level of unpredictability to combat.

Throwing a Mouse Bomb at a group of enemies can create chaos, forcing them to scatter while the bomb itself zooms toward the nearest target. Its damage is moderate, but its speed makes it a useful distraction or a way to push enemies into corners where they have nowhere to escape.

Void Bomb – The Vacuum of Destruction
The Void Bomb requires 2xBlasting Dungs and 3xPandorium Bars doesn’t just explode - it pulls everything toward its center before unleashing a blast. This makes it incredibly powerful for crowd control. When thrown, it creates a vortex that drags enemies, objects, and even loose debris toward its core before detonating.

The best way to use the Void Bomb is to throw it in areas where enemies naturally group up. If timed well, it can pull multiple enemies into one spot, setting them up for additional damage from weapons or follow-up explosions. It’s also useful for clearing large clusters of objects when mining.
Proximity Bomb – A Tactical Trap
To craft it, prepare at least 1xBlasting Dung and 2xGalaxite Bars. The Proximity Bomb is for players who like setting traps. Instead of exploding immediately, it waits. Once placed, it arms itself and detonates when an enemy enters its trigger radius. This allows for ambushes, base defenses, or creating hazards to control enemy movement.

One of the best ways to use the Proximity Bomb is in narrow corridors where enemies have no choice but to walk through. If positioned well, it can soften up enemies before they even reach you, making fights much easier. However, caution is required - if not placed carefully, it might go off at the wrong time or miss entirely.

Blunder Bomb – Explosions on Repeat
Blunder Bomb requires 1xBlasting Dung and 2xScarlet Bars. It is one explosion, then another, then another. Unlike standard bombs that go off once, this one detonates multiple times, making it unpredictable and deadly. If an enemy survives the first blast, they might not be so lucky with the next ones.

This bomb works best against larger, slower enemies who can’t escape its chain of explosions. It can also be used to break down obstacles more effectively than other bombs, as each blast extends its destructive range. In open areas, however, the Blunder Bomb’s delayed explosions can be tricky to control, so placement is key.
Best Strategies for Bomb Use
Each of these bombs serves a different purpose, and combining them can lead to even more interesting results. A Void Bomb followed by a Blunder Bomb can trap enemies in one spot while multiple explosions go off. A Mouse Bomb can force enemies into a Proximity Bomb’s trap. Knowing when and where to use them will turn these tools into essential parts of exploration and combat.
When exploring, keeping a few different bomb types in your inventory allows flexibility. Experimenting with them will help you find the best combinations for your playstyle.
The Bags and Blasts update brings a new level of chaos and strategy to Core Keeper with these four unique bombs. Learning to craft and use them effectively can turn an ordinary mining trip into an explosive adventure. So grab your Alchemist Table, stock up on materials, and start experimenting—you never know what a well-placed bomb might uncover.
