Mirror, Mirror in Dragonwilds: Three Reagents, and One Is Inside a Windmill

A mirror in Fellhollow.

Mirror, Mirror is Fellhollow's ritual quest, and it opens with crying audio you can hear before you see the mirror. A figure sealed inside by a necromancer asks you to gather three reagents so they can free themselves: dragon blood, a copy of their spellbook, and spectral silver thread. The payout is Ulv's longbow and its recipe.

StartSpeak to the mirror west of Emberwood Village, past the green dragon
RequiresPartial completion of Withering Heights, for Fellhollow access
Items needed1 silver bar, 1 fine thread, 1 sacred oil, 6 soul fragments, Dragon blood
RecommendedGood armour and weapons
EnemiesMultiple undead, green dragons or dragon wolves, multiple Garou, multiple Goblins
RewardUlv's longbow, plus the recipe

Note the two item lists. The quest's formal requirement is 1 silver bar, 1 fine thread, 1 sacred oil, 6 soul fragments and dragon blood — the crafting inputs. The spellbook and spectral silver thread are story objects you collect during the quest rather than materials you bring.

Bring the five listed items with you. Six soul fragments in particular is a quantity worth checking before you set off, since backtracking out of Fellhollow is not quick.

Getting the Dragon Blood

The mirror needs dragon blood, and the walkthrough offers two sources:

You can kill the nearby green dragon or some dragon wolves for the dragon blood.

Those are very different fights. A Green Dragon has 2,800 health at power level 5, is weak to Water, resistant to Fire and immune to Burning and Poison. A dragon wolf is a far softer target for the same ingredient.

Take the dragon wolf unless you want the dragon. This is the same escape hatch Biohazard offers for its dragon blood requirement, and it is worth using for the same reason — the ingredient is identical either way.

Note that the green dragon sits between you and the mirror on the approach from the east, so you may have to deal with it regardless of which source you use.

The Spellbook Is in a Destroyed Windmill

Card explaining where to find the bedraggled spellbook in Emberwood Village.

For the copy of their spellbook, go into Emberwood Village and find the destroyed windmill. Inside, you will find a bedraggled spellbook.

The access requirement is worth reading carefully:

You will need to either have gotten past this point in the Withering Heights quest or reactivated the statues on a new world.

Emberwood Village is gated, and the gate is Withering Heights progress or the statue reactivation. If you are on a fresh world and the village is closed to you, that is why — and the fix is the statues, not the mirror.

The Spectral Silver Thread

The third reagent comes from Edna's skeleton within Dragon's Run, found by looking for a crumbling landmark.

Dragon's Run is one of the three known locations for nature spirits in The Wild Hunt, so if you have done that quest you have already been there and know the approach.

The Enemy List Is the Warning

Card showing the four enemy types across the Mirror, Mirror route.

The quest lists undead, dragons or dragon wolves, Garou and Goblins — which between them cover most of Dragonwilds' resistance table:

EnemyWeak toResistant to
Green DragonWaterFire; immune Burning, Poison
Rotsworn / Skeletal undeadMostly Crush and AirFire — seven of eight lines
GarouFour different answersVaries by type
GoblinsFireNone

There is no single element that covers this route. Fire kills goblins and fails against both the dragon and almost every Fellhollow undead. Water kills the dragon and does nothing for the goblins.

The practical loadout is Crush plus Water: Crush covers most of the Fellhollow undead and the Garou Thanes, and Water covers the green dragon. Leave fire behind — Fellhollow is the most consistently anti-fire region in the game, with seven of the eight published undead resistance lines including it.

A quest that sends you to three corners of a region is one a group splits, and splitting needs a shared persistent world. A gamever Dragonwilds server keeps Ashenfall running with automatic updates and one-click backups.

Conclusion

Mirror, Mirror begins at a mirror west of Emberwood Village, past the green dragon, and needs partial completion of Withering Heights for Fellhollow access. Bring the five listed materials with you — 1 silver bar, 1 fine thread, 1 sacred oil, 6 soul fragments and dragon blood — since backtracking out of Fellhollow is slow. The dragon blood has an escape hatch: a dragon wolf supplies it as readily as the Green Dragon at 2,800 health, which is weak to Water, resistant to Fire and immune to Burning and Poison. The spellbook is inside the destroyed windmill in Emberwood Village, which is gated behind Withering Heights progress or reactivated statues — if the village is closed, that is the reason. The spectral silver thread comes from Edna's skeleton in Dragon's Run, a location The Wild Hunt already sends you to. And the route's enemy list — undead, dragons, Garou and Goblins — means no single element covers it: carry Crush and Water, and leave fire behind, since seven of Fellhollow's eight published undead resistance lines include it. The reward is Ulv's longbow and its recipe.
