After defeating Bonemass, the most notorious boss, you receive a peculiar item: the wishbone, hidden within the gelatinous behemoth's oozing body.

 

 

How to enable it

 

    The wishbone in Valheim comes with a cryptic description. When you highlight the item in your inventory, you'll see a message stating that "This ancient bone remembers the location of many forgotten things." This alone doesn't tell you what the wishbone does.

 

 

    After you enable this bone you will see a message on the screen, informing you that you can now "sense hidden things." If the helpful raven Hugin is around, it will reveal the wishbone's true purpose: It helps you find silver.

 

Finding Secrets

 

    After equipping the Wishbone, players receive a buff that enables them to find secrets. When wearing the Wishbone, you may occasionally notice green particles appearing around your character, usually starting about 20 meters away from a secret location. These are accompanied by a distinctive "ding" sound, indicating the proximity of a buried secret.

 

 

    As you move closer to the secret's location, the "ding" sound will become faster and higher in pitch. When you're directly above the hidden secret, you can start digging to reveal various valuable items, depending on the biome you're in:

- In the Swamp biome, you'll uncover Muddy Scrap Piles.

- In the Mountain biome, you'll find Silver Veins.

 

 

- In the Meadows biome, you can unearth Buried Treasure.

    Once you interact with the hidden object, such as opening a chest or mining a vein, it will stop detecting that particular secret.

    It's important to note that the Wishbone occupies an equipment slot, and equipping it will prevent you from wearing other accessories like the Megingjord or the Wisplight, as they share the same equipment slot.

 

 

    This ancient bone takes you on a quest to uncover forgotten treasures. Its activation initiates a sensory experience, as green particles and that unmistakable "ding" guide you closer to concealed wealth. However, it comes at a cost, occupying a precious equipment slot, requiring you to make choices in your inventory management.
