How to Use the Dimensional Depot in Satisfactory Release 1.0

 

     With the release of Satisfactory 1.0, one of the most intriguing new features is the Dimensional Depot. This addition addresses one of the game's biggest challenges: the hassle of constantly running back and forth between different factories and storage areas. The Dimensional Depot offers a solution by allowing you to upload and download items from a personal cloud storage.

 

 

What is the Dimensional Depot?

 

     The Dimensional Depot is a new buildable structure that lets you store and access items through a virtual cloud storage system. This feature simplifies logistics and inventory management by allowing you to upload items from your inventory to the depot and retrieve them as needed, all without having to physically transport them between locations.

 

    

 

Unlocking the Dimensional Depot

 

     To unlock the Dimensional Depot, you need to progress in the MAM under the Alien Technology section.

 

     - Mercer Sphere: You must find and research a Mercer Sphere. Mercer Spheres are rare resources scattered throughout the game world.

 

     - Sam Fluctuators: You'll need to research Sam and create Sam Fluctuators. These are required to unlock the Dimensional Depot and can be produced in the Craft Bench using basic materials.

 

    

     You’ll need to have reached at least Tier 4 to gather Steel Pipes, which are necessary for creating Sam Fluctuators and, by extension, for building the Dimensional Depot.

 

 

Building and Using

 

     The Dimensional Depot requires a Mercer Sphere to construct. Be mindful that Mercer Spheres are a finite resource, so you can't build an unlimited number of these depots.

 

     The depot has a single input for items. It doesn’t have an output slot, meaning you’ll need to manage the transportation logistics for items entering the depot.

 

    

 

Uploading and Downloading Items

 

       Open the Dimensional Depot's interface. Place items into the depot via a conveyor belt or manually from your inventory. Note that the upload speed starts at 15 items per minute, which can be a bit slow.

 

    

 

     Downloading Items:

 

       Access items stored in the Dimensional Depot and pull them into your inventory when needed.

 

    

     You can also build directly from the Dimensional Depot’s inventory. This is handy if you run out of materials during construction.

 

 

Upgrading the Dimensional Depot

 

     The base upload rate is 15 items per minute, which can be upgraded to 240 items per minute with research. Initially, the depot can hold one stack of each item (e.g., 200 iron plates). Upgrades allow for more stacks, up to 1,000 iron plates.

 

     As you upgrade, you’ll need more Mercer Spheres, totaling up to 97 for full research.

 

    

       Due to rarity of Mercer Spheres and the high number required for research, you should plan your upgrades carefully. Don’t expect to build a large number of Dimensional Depots.

 

 

Practical Applications

 

     The Dimensional Depot can serve as a central storage solution, especially useful if you want to avoid the traditional setup of a central storage room.

 

     It’s ideal for managing items from multiple factories spread across the map, reducing the need for transporting materials manually.
