Understanding Pumps

 

     Open the Constructor menu by pressing Q and choose Logistik Section. There are two types of Pipeline Pumps: Mk.1 and Mk.2. The Mk.1 can lift fluids up to 20 meters, while the Mk.2 can handle 50 meters. These pumps are directional, which means the liquid can only flow in the direction they’re facing. Setting Up Your Pumps

 

     Start by finding a water source—be it a lake, river, or ocean. Build your Water Extractor first, ensuring it’s deep enough to pull a steady 120 m³/min. Once that’s done, you can pipe the water to wherever it’s needed, like your power plants or refineries.

 

    

     When you need to pump water uphill, here’s the game plan: for the Mk.1 Pump, position it every 20 meters of vertical lift. With the Mk.2, you can space them a bit further apart, but don’t go too crazy! Keeping pumps close together helps maintain a steady flow.

 

    

 

Managing Head Lift and Flow

 

     Every pump has a head lift capacity. For the Mk.1, it’s 20 meters. If your setup exceeds that height, you’ll need multiple pumps to keep the liquid moving. Just remember that head lift doesn’t stack, so spacing is important.

 

    

     Check the flow rate by watching the indicators in the pipes. When those rings are fully spread out, you’re in great shape! If they’re bunched up, it’s time to investigate.

 

    

     Also, make sure your pumps are oriented correctly. A backwards pump will create a blockage and mess with your entire fluid network. Double-checking your setup can save you a lot of frustration down the line.

 

    

 

Bonus Tips

 

     You can mount pumps on walls, which saves floor space when building vertical pipelines. This helps you keep things organized and efficient.

 

     If a pump loses power, it stops working, and the head lift resets. Always ensure your pumps are connected to a power source to keep them functioning.

 

    

     If you’re transporting liquids, consider using pipes instead of trains. While trains can be flashy, piping is often more effective for getting liquids directly to machines.
