How to Use GCO Weapon Attachment in Rust Time to Kill Update

If you’ve been keeping up with the latest Rust updates, you’re in for a treat. The new GCO Weapon Attachment, or Gas Compression Overdrive, is here to shake up your gunplay with some seriously cool changes.

What is the Gas Compression Overdrive?

The Gas Compression Overdrive is a game-changer in the Rust weapon mod scene. This attachment slashes your fire rate by 20% and adds 10% more recoil, but it boosts your projectile velocity by 30% and your damage by 20%. In simpler terms, your gun will shoot slower and with more kick, but your bullets will travel faster and hit harder.

Finding the GCO Attachment

Currently, you’ll need to hit up the tech tree to get your hands on this attachment. Open your Werkbench Level 2. Item you need to unlock is located just below the Extended Mag for a steep price of 2100 scrap. Keep your eyes peeled, though; it might appear in loot tables soon. If you’re looking for a deal, remember that the Homing Missile Launcher has also been reduced to 2100 scrap in the tech tree.

How to Equip and Use the GCO Attachment

Equipping the GCO Weapon Attachment is straightforward once you’ve acquired it. Head to your crafting bench or appropriate weapon modification station and attach it to a compatible weapon. Not all guns can use the GCO, so check if your weapon of choice is on the list.

Drag and Drop the attachment to the gun

Once equipped, you’ll notice a significant change in how your weapon handles. The slower fire rate and increased recoil mean you’ll need to adjust your shooting style. Aim for accuracy over speed and make use of the increased bullet velocity and damage at longer distances. Practice makes perfect—spend some time in a safe zone or on target practice to get used to the new recoil and firing speed.

Enhance long-range shooting with GCO in Rust Update

Advantages of the GCO

The GCO Weapon Attachment shines in certain scenarios. Its increased projectile velocity and damage are ideal for long-range engagements where accuracy is critical. The added recoil can be a challenge up close, but with some practice, you can make every shot count. Use it to enhance your sniping skills or to give you an edge in mid-range firefights.

The Gas Compression Overdrive is a fantastic addition to Rust, bringing both challenges and opportunities to enhance your gameplay. Embrace the new recoil, master the increased projectile speed, and enjoy the improved damage output.
