How to use Brick signs in Icarus week 176
Brick signs are here and they’re not just a cosmetic upgrade - they're a whole vibe. If you’ve ever wanted your base to look a little more serious or maybe set up a makeshift graveyard for fallen comrades, these new brick signs are what you’ve been waiting for. And don’t worry, they’re easy to use once you’ve got the right gear and a little time to gather materials.

Where to find and how to unlock
Brick signs are unlocked at tier 3 and can be crafted at either the advanced masonry bench or the electric masonry bench.

You’ll need to gather clay bricks, which are only naturally available in Prometheus. If you're on Olympus or Styx, don’t panic - you can still get clay from the workshop, but you’ll have to spend some of that hard-earned Ren. Each brick sign costs 10 clay bricks, 2 concrete mix, and 4 iron nails, so if you're thinking of going wild with them, keep that inventory stocked and maybe consider some automation.

How to craft and place
Once you’ve unlocked the blueprint, open your advanced masonry bench and scroll down to the signs. You’ll find four different styles: two for the wall and two for the ground.

You get tall signs and angled ones for both placements, which lets you experiment with different vibes depending on your base layout. When placing, press and hold R to open the radial menu and select the style you want to place. You can stick them inside your cozy log cabin, out in the wild on a hunting trail, or even use them to mark waypoints or danger zones.

Customizing text and visuals
Just like the older wooden signs, the new brick signs can be edited to display whatever text you want. Write down chest labels, warnings, story clues, or just something goofy to prank your friends. The team even updated the material of the signs to remove that weird artificial glow that made them look like holograms in the dark. Now they blend into the environment better, taking on the lighting and shading of the mesh around them, which makes them feel way more grounded and realistic.

Use cases and creative setups
These signs aren’t just for looks. Place a floor sign next to a tombstone and label it with the name of a fallen pet or player. Use tall wall signs to clearly mark zones in your base like storage, armory, kitchen, or dorms. You can even mix them with other decorations and lighting to build themed rooms, shops, or roleplay areas. And if you really want to get creative, try placing signs near puzzle stations, treasure rooms, or dungeon entrances for your custom missions and storylines.

Why they matter and when to use
Brick signs are heavier-duty than their wooden counterparts and look way better when you’re going for that industrial or fortified theme. While they're more expensive, they definitely stand out more, so use them for the places that matter. A big danger sign on your poison mushroom garden? Brick it. Memorial for a tamed bear who didn't survive the arctic? Brick it. Marker for your outpost in the desert? Brick it. These signs are perfect for immersion and help make your world feel more permanent and alive.

Brick signs in Icarus Week 176 give players new tools to customize and stylize their bases like never before. With four different styles, a rugged new look, and full text support, these aren’t just fancy nameplates—they’re a way to tell stories, mark history, and create atmosphere. Craft a few, try different layouts, and turn your base into something that truly feels lived in.
