How to Upload or Move an Existing Enshrouded World

If you've been playing Enshrouded on a friend's co-op session or another host, you don't have to start over — you can move that existing world onto your gamever server. The panel even has a "How to upload my world?" prompt for exactly this. It's an FTP job, and the key is copying the right files with the server stopped. This guide walks through it.
What makes up an Enshrouded world
A world is the savegame folder plus the server's enshrouded_server_NNN.dat files:

To move a world, you copy that save data onto your server. (Note: this is for moving a dedicated-server world or a save you can access the files of — a world hosted inside another player's game client lives on their PC.)
Step 1 — get the source world files
From the old host or your own files, obtain the savegame folder contents and the enshrouded_server_NNN.dat files. If the source is another gamever/dedicated server, download them over FTP (with that server stopped).
Step 2 — stop your new server
On your gamever server: Overview → Stop. This matters for two reasons — the world files must not be in use while you replace them, and Enshrouded rewrites its config on stop (see the config guide).
Step 3 — upload the files over FTP
The panel notes: "Use FTP to upload files without limitation." Using your FTP details (Network tab address IP:27338, login on Settings → FTP server settings):
- Connect with an FTP client (e.g. FileZilla).
- Upload the source
savegamecontents and.datfiles into your server's root/savegame location, replacing the fresh ones.
The panel File Manager works for smaller uploads, but FTP is the reliable way for a full world (the .dat files can be hundreds of MB).
Step 4 — start and verify
- Start the server (Overview → Start).
- Watch the Console for a clean load.
- Join and confirm your bases and progress are there.
Back up before and after
- Take a backup of the fresh server before overwriting (so you can undo a bad import).
- Take another after a successful import so the imported world has its own restore point.
If the world doesn't load
- Make sure you copied both the
savegamecontents and the.datfiles, into the right location. - Confirm the server was stopped during the upload.
- Check the Console for errors, and that the source world came from a compatible game version (update one side if needed — see updating).
Additional Tips
- Stop the server before uploading — files in use won't replace cleanly.
- Use FTP for the full world — the
.datfiles are large. - Copy savegame + .dat together — both are the world.
- Back up the fresh server first so a bad import is reversible.
- Match versions — a world from a newer/older build may not load.
Conclusion
Moving an existing Enshrouded world to gamever is an FTP job: stop your server, upload the source savegame folder and enshrouded_server_NNN.dat files over FTP, then start and verify. Back up before and after, keep the files together, and your group's existing world is now hosted 24/7 — no starting over.
